Matt was 14 for 14 in the second half yesterday and had a game winning drive and TD pass completing two 4th down passing plays on that drive. The Rams are 12 and 4 and just won two back to back road games to clinch a playoff spot and have won 5 straight. Who would the anti Stafford folks replace him with?.
Who's talking about replacing him? It's not hard to get here really. The common theme is how much better this team would be if he didn't throw pick 6's and if he didn't put us in a hole early in games. Nobody is talking about replacing him! We're wanting him and the team to be better. A couple of those bad games without his mistakes we win and we're 15-2 or 16-1. I guess 12-4 is ok but last I checked with better QB play 16-1 is a lot better.

Anybody else think he is still having back issues, hence the throws in the 1st Quarter of every game that are behind receivers? Seems like it is taking extra long for him to get warmed up and to his normal accuracy. One thing about Stafford, he will never use it as an excuse, in fact he will say he is 100% No matter what. He hasn't had that issue in the past, and I think at the end of the year, we are going to find out that his back was much worse than he was letting on.

One of those bad games without mistakes and they're the number one seed...

Yes we beat the Packers and we're in the drivers seat. Instead the road to the Super Bowl goes thru Green Bay and a QB who's thrown 4 ints in over 500 attempts.

Interesting, I could give a fuck how many turnovers he has as long as the team is winning.

Our schedule this year was one of the toughest in the league. Not sure what a “cookie cutter schedule” is.

Really? However, I will say that I don't seem to recall explaining so many int's away as we do now.
Oh we did for Goff as well. I did anyway. Seem to remember others as well. The fact is not all interceptions are the QBs fault. Either are strip sacks. Sometimes the D just makes a good play.

I thought we were talking on this message board. Please tell me what you'd like to talk about?

I'd appreciate a response instead of sarcastic hahas to my posts when I'm not trying to make a funny.

stafford is the best QB in the 4th in the nfl.

also leads the league in 2nd half passer rating.

of course its fair to scrutinize turnovers... just saying we won a lot int he past with QBs that turned the ball over.

I think Brady has one like 7 or 8 playoff games with 2-3 ints.

I don't want Stafford turning it over but I also don't want him to play conservative.

Thats the way Warner was - he was aggressive.
Dilfer made some good comments on Stafford and the Rams on Cowherd.

Mentioned that the Rams need to be a little more boring on offense to reduce the risk of turnovers, especially early in the game.

Feels if they can do that, and then you still have that late game heroic potential if needed, they will be tough to beat. He then pointed out the obvious that you can't give a short field to Rodgers in Lambeu and survive it.

That's where I stand on it. Dumb it down or reduce the riskier throws early. Be more fundamental and your D is playing well that you don't have to force things.

Oh got it assuming that everybody who is critical of Matt Stafford's mistakes are just salty because he's a Rams player now is designed to illicit intelligent conversation? When you want to stop with these kind of comments I'd be more than happy to have a serious conversation.

I am not sure there are Anti-Staffords on here.

There are definitely a few Concerned about Stafford's recent turnovers though.

Another fun stat along with Stafford throwing for 11 TDs, No Ints in 4th Qtr this year, is that Wolford actually has more INTs in the 4th Qtr than Stafford.

Think about that.

I keep wondering that too. I know when I hurt my back a little when I was playing golf on vacation, it would take me a swing or two on each hole to get loose.

Note - I was by myself that day and no one behind me and a couple of older gentlemen ahead of me playing a bit slow so I decided to play best ball out of two balls each attempt. I felt that was okay especially since my back kept acting up on the first swing.

Plus I am not a very good golfer soooooo...

I didn't say anyone was speaking of replacing him but I do feel some fans (not necessarily here) think he is to blame for the 4 losses. I don't see anyone better who is or was available. I think he has played great all season. The Rams ran into a juggernaut in the first AZ game. The other 3 losses came when Woods went down and new players were added and the 0-line was make shift due to illness or injury. If Woods were still on the field half of Staffords picks would never of happened. Its really hard to lose a guy like Woods who does so much and always seems to be open in the clutch.
4th quarter in a close game I want Stafford under center. I'm happy with that.

The AZ loss was a team loss.
The SF loss was a team loss.
Tennessee and GB were primarily on Stafford.

The thought of dumbing down the playbook to decrease the number of turnovers is ludicrous. Early in games, Stafford is trying to force the big plays, or he just is making bad decisions. When he threw the long distance pick, he had an open man underneath who could have got the first down. McVay told him as he walked off the field. I agree with the, "I only care about winning" argument, but you have four turnovers in the playoffs, you are getting your ass kicked.
