After 15 games in 2021, Matthew Stafford has been a whirlwind as the Los Angeles Rams QB in his first season

As a Los Angeles Ram, Stafford has shown his strengths, and he's clearly revealed his weaknesses that were displayed during his first 12 seasons in Detroit.

With 2 games left to play in 2021 (Stafford's QBR Ranking is 63.6) Ranked #4

With 2 games left to play in 2021 (Stafford's Passer Rating is 104.0) Ranked #3

Statistics are often overrated, but in 2021 Stafford has shown over 15 games he's a top 5 rated QB with his overall body of work by several metrics.

(On the negative side) Stafford has not been a top 5 rated QB over his last 8 games.

Stafford's record in his last 8 games is 5-3.

Stafford's statistics in his last 8 games.

Att 293, Comp 190, %64.85, YDS 2167, AVG 7.4, TD 17, INT 9, Rating 93.5

Stafford's career playoff wins: 0-3

Att 117, Comp 74, %63.25, YDS 908, AVG 7.29, TD 4, INT 3, Rating 87.8

Rams' fans already know it doesn't matter if he plays well in the last 2 games of this season.

Stafford will be judged by his performance in the playoffs.

Stafford has never played in home playoff game.

If the Rams win their last 2 regular season games, he will be guaranteed to host his first playoff game in his 13-year career.

If the Cardinals finish the season 1-1 and Rams finish their season 1-1, he will host his first playoff game.

Stafford is under the microscope by many fans and several of the NFL media talking heads.

There is a consistent lack of trust in Stafford as the NFC playoff seedings get sorted out over the last two games of the season.

Many in the NFL media don't believe Stafford can be consistent and play well in 4 straight games against playoff caliber football teams.

Stafford is clearly the most fascinating QB to follow during this year's playoffs.

stafford microscope nauseating me....

There is only one QB in the NFL that doesnt throw interceptions - Aaron Rodgers.

Stafford was Top 2-3 in like every category before last game and still ranks top 3-4 in most.

#1 in TD%
#2 in net yards per attempt
#3 in yards per attempt

He like ranks Top 10- in 50 different stats....

These people are like dogs without a bone. Geezez. Didn't the BUCS win last year despite Tom Brady's 3 picks in one game? Championship game?
It was mentioned today one pick was a batted ball we got one of those from Cousins and the hero ball one was a dopey choice however if Shelton holds his block that pick doesn't happen. Nobody cares when Brady did it and his tr won in spite of it nobody is perfect not even the old G.O.A.T.

Matt Stafford has thrown 3 pick sixes.. and at least three more turnovers inside the 10.
That's not good.
The good news? Kinda, anyway... he's thrown 3 pick sixes 7 times in his career.. but his career high is 4. So.. hopefully he's gotten them out of his system.

I was impressed by his ability to overcome his mistakes. The guy is a pro QB and the game is never over for him until its literally over. He had his o-line changing all game long and still played awesome in key situations. He hit Kupp and OBJ and Higbee for some huge plays to win a road game against a team that is pretty damn good. ESPN pumped him up to the top four QB's after Sundays game so they felt and saw what I felt and saw. We have a very good QB guys!

Lol yea...

The Vikings beat the Packers in Minnesota. Beat down Seattle. Should have beaten Arizona. Took Cincy to OT.

We were up by 10 with 2 minutes to play.

No other team has been up by two scores against Minnesota with two minutes to play.

Their worst defeat is technically the Niners - but the Vikings cut the deficit to 5 points with 4 minutes left.

So in a way we handed the Vikings their worst defeat of the season, or at least tied with their Niners loss.

They've played the Rams, Cardinals, Niners, Cowboys, Packers, Ravens, Bengals, Browns, Steelers - 9 teams currently .500 or better.

And we did this despite Stafford having arguably his worst game. On the road, a game the Vikings had to win, on a short week.

Will we need Stafford to play better to beat the better NFC teams? Sure. But having AD and Ramsey do give us some room for error

I'd say each "pick 6" is its own animal,,, and if an INT is returned for a touchdown or not isn't always the result of what the QB did or didnt do.

The pick 6 against the Titans - the dude came off his man to jump another route. Was a bad throw - id give that one as being mostly on stafford.

The Pick 6 against Green Bay - Was mostly a great play by douglas to jump inside on kupp.... ill still give most of the blame to stafford as the ball placement wasnt ideal.

The pick 6 against the 49ners? Not putting that one on stafford - was a decently placed screen pass that higbee muffed.

Turnovers inside the 10 id say are more what needs to be addressed - those cant happen. But 2 of those 3 were a result of protection breaking down.

The lack of practice time has to be causing some of these issues but Stafford does need to stop trying to win every play and
just throw the ball away when things break down.

I don't put the Higbee one on him, that'd be unfair.
But the fumbles inside the 10 and Ints inside the 10.. tip or not.. I put on him. Sorry.. you don't just chuck it up for grabs.
We can go extenuating circumstances all over.. but, as pointed out... Stafford's thrown plenty of pick 6s in his career. He also turned the ball over multiple times deep in his own territory this season.

These aren't flukes. They're bad plays. The Rams oline is also consistently rated one of the best or best in pass pro this season. If he can't handle making a decision under pressure.. oh, boy.

Take away the 10 points given to the Vikes by untimely ints and this was a 27-10 beat down. The defense is kicking into 2nd gear and STs are settling down. Running game and OL are starting to impose their will. Just need to cut out the killer TOs.

Stafford has had his ups and downs. But none of that will matter if he delivers in the playoffs. If he doesn't, well, there's always next year.

This is Matt's first year in this offense and it's a pretty complex scheme with a lot of sight options for receivers, i.e. the QB and receivers have to read it the same way. IMO that might be part of the reason Stafford is holding the ball and getting sacked or forcing the pass unnecessarily.

The Rams can win a Lombardi with Stafford and their SB window is just beginning to open. When he's on his game he's as good as any QB so that is about all you can expect from any QB.

Of more concern is Morris and his defense. His penchant for backing off and playing soft with a lead simply allows the opponent to stay in the game. Why does he back off of what is working? When Morris plays aggressively with his DBs this defense can be very good. Then all of a sudden he will back off and go limp dick with his scheme. Someone, please give the dude some viagra!
