Ah yes, the famous and unbelievably popular 'Quarterback In A Vacuum' Argument. The one that logically concludes that Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Mark Rypien, Jeff Hostetler, Joe Flacco, Phil Simms, Doug Williams and Nick Foles are all better than Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Fran Tarkenton and Dan Fouts (And that they are all equally as good as Warner, Rodgers and Wilson).

Hence why W/L record for a QB is illogical.

And I mean, before Goff stepped onto the field under McVay he was a huge bust according to the media.

If we had this much success with a "bust", the league should be completely terrified now.

Ummmmm.......... seems I've heard this "He can't win the playoff games" mantra before. Yeah, Cousins. Winning playoff games is as much on the defense as it is the QB. Which why some teams don't win. Look, Stafford's defense in Detroit gave up an average of 24.5 ppg during his time there. That should be a .500 team at best. And guess what, in his 10 years, they averaged 7-9 a year. If the Rams defense can be close to what they did last year, say 18 ppg on defense, the Rams will go 13-3. Win at least one if not two playoff games.
As to the defense. Look at the Giant's last two Super Bowls. Does anyone want to say Eli is better than Rodgers? No? Well, what Eli's defense did in the playoffs is hold the other teams to 15 ppg in the playoffs. Do that, and I don't care who the QB is, you will win the Super Bowl. Unless of course, the other team's defense is holding them to 14 ppg.

I'd be going in with tempered expectations about 2021 if Goff was still here because I know exactly what we'd be getting if that were the case. Five years. He is what he is and i was done with him by late last season. Clearly the weak link and that cannot be your QB.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Matthews intelligence, moxy and instincts more than anything else this year. I just feel like when things aren't working offensively(and this will happen), that he'll give us a chance to overcome it.

I think they were working on a deal the next day after the game.
I don’t think so, they didn’t have our employee/ their GM at this time yet.

I think it came to fruition once he got the job and we new we had someone placed in the decision making position.

It was a good deal for both sides, think a bit steep on our end though.

They were probably talking during the interview process and Holmes told them if he gets the Lions job he would do this deal with them.

There's no way in the world Mcvay would say what he did if the trade wasn't already agreed on. The Lions probably told Holmes privately he had the job but wouldn't announce it until the Rams were eliminated from the playoffs.

I don't think many in here actually read the OP's entire, satirical post.

Needed to read the OP to the end. Good stuff.
Our D will need to keep an eye on that though since the Rams will be scoring so fast and often, the D will be on the field more. Ramsey and DWill have big stats coming ahead.

Well Ward should feel confident. He is a hell of a player and to date the Rams' threat with their WR3/4s and TEs haven't challenged him.

But that depth chart just got juiced on top of improving at QB. The relationship between their defense and our offense is gonna change a bit this year.

I am dumbfounded by some of your doubts about Stafford. His talent is undeniable and winning this year isn’t dependent on him alone. Balance will make him much more effective and he won’t be constantly trying to overcome massive deficits in the 4th quarter, like in Detroit. Going into the 2nd half with a lead, Sean McVay teams are deadly. He is the best QB we’ve had since Warner and you will see it.
