I mean, will they disrupt the flow of our 48 actives?

Are they physically up to speed?

Are they better than the guys we have starting in their place?

No disrespect of these old warriors but just looking for some input.

Definitely think we need to get Quinton Lake up to speed for our playoff run however.

I dunno. I like the way McClendon has been playing. Hav's the elder statesman of the line. But McClendon might be better at this point. Do we wanna upset the good chemistry they have right now? A healthy Higbee would be nice. He knows the offense. A good blocker. Catches passes downfield. Parkinson has been playing well and there's enough room for both on the field with Allen. Ferguson can spell one of them and maybe be a deep threat.

I think Higbee offers more than any 4th TE we have and we need 4 gameday actives for 13 personnel (in case one gets injured).

I think a hard conversation has to be had with Havenstein sadly.

Sure, you bring them both back!!! Havenstein has anchored RT for 10 years and there's not much he hasn't seen. Now...do you just insert him??? I think not. You use them both and as Hav gets in game shape you start him!!! You don't lose your job to injury!

Same thing with Higbeast! Let him work his way in and when he's up to speed, you start the guy!!!

how do you propose we use both McClendon and Havs?

Parkinson is likely our best TE even with Higbee back but Higz & Fergz instead of Allen maybe or leave Fergz out of the equasion
He will be great and can stretch the D but doesn't figure in nearly as much, but they may run with all 4.

Big Rob needs to be on the roster if healthy, doesn't mean he has to start but he is on the roster

Sorry man, but I disagree. You have to ride the hot hand IMO. It seems to me that Mclendon has been an upgrade at RT, especially against speed rushes off the edge.

Havs is one of my faves, but you have to play the guys that give the team the best chance for success. I trust McVay to do just that

Since Higs has been out of the lineup, Parkinson has really shown as a pass catcher (already a very good blocker) from the Y spot and Fergy's blocking has really improved. Having Higs back is a plus and he'll prob steal some snaps from Parkinson but I think Parkinson may have leapfrogged him at Y as you say. Allen has been playing well too so not sure you pull him when he can do so much from the F.

Great problem to have.

There is NO "hot hand" here. Hav has the experience, but that's not to say he's at peak. He has to get there...SO...McVay will trust Wendell to make the call and he'll go with it. Meantime you work Hav in.

Sorry, but Hav doesn't perform the way that McClendon can and does. That's all that matters in this league.
Hav is now a valuable back up at this stage of the season and his career.

We'll see if McVay and Wendell "work Hav in". That just sounds silly to me, sorry. If he is healthy, and the coaches think he is an upgrade at the position, they will play him. If not, he is the best backup RT in the league.

Agree with all of that.
I have said this before so pardon me if it's redundant. I think it takes 3 seasons for TE's to really take hold of this offense and more importantly their roles.

Both Allen and Parks have shown tremendous growth in this their 3rd season, I don't think this is coincidence and expect the same out of Fergz, maybe we can speed that up.

It's about all the seemingly little things that aren't so little to McVay, in play adjustments Allen and Parks are now fluid with this and for fergz combo's, you see how he and Stafford aren't on the same page at times and it makes some of Fergz catches harder or not possible at all than they need to be.
This aspect of Allen and Parks game is now polished.

Fergz is here to stretch the field and be effective in the run game. He is suffering a bit in the passing game and isn't there yet in the run game. You can see him improving in the run game and 13 benefits him here but he has a ways to go before he is prolific in the passing game and thats OK. Like I say we have history on our side
