Interesting! Folks were worried about McClendon when Hav went down. Hav didn't start based on seniority, he won the spot outright.Nonsense. You can't lose your job to injury!

We could definitely use a veteran like McCreary at this point back there.Higbee would probably just replace Nick Vanett on the roster.
But, who do you drop for Havenstein?
Plus, McCreary (if healthy) is available after this game.
Quite possibly, we started the season with 4 TE's and did grab Varnett even though he hasn't factored much, I wonder what they will do with those last couple spots and the exemptions. They have been very creative and Davante adds to the complexity.Higbee would probably just replace Nick Vanett on the roster.

I agree that McClendon should play but Hav in his prime was great - maybe you could argue McClendon may show better in pass blocking (debatable) - but Hav was a monster run blocker don't yet see that from McClendon.McClendon has been so good that I think you keep him there. Hav has won a Super Bowl already. We Not Me. The reality is we might well need him with how injuries can hit. Even when Hav was in his prime, I don't think he was any better than what McClendon has been putting on tape. The dude has been absolutely lights out. Can he sustain it? Who knows. But ride the train until it stops. He's giving us top 5 tackle play.
That's not an ironclad rule that you can't lose your job to injury. It's when justified when the replacement is doing much better than the previous starter was.Sure, you bring them both back!!! Havenstein has anchored RT for 10 years and there's not much he hasn't seen. Now...do you just insert him??? I think not. You use them both and as Hav gets in game shape you start him!!! You don't lose your job to injury!
Same thing with Higbeast! Let him work his way in and when he's up to speed, you start the guy!!!
Parkinson’s has been really impressive and has turned into a weapon, plus he’s huge. Ferg seems the most inconsistent but getting reps for him is good. Going into the playoffs with Higs and Parkinson’s as 1-2sounds sweet
If I recall, he allowed 2 pressures and no sacks. Hutchinson had a sack but I don't think it was against McC.I read that McClendon did a nice job vs Hutch the times they faced each other Sunday. He continues to impress. So does Park.
Having a deep TE room and 2 solid RTs are a blessing for the Rams. That being said I would start Higbee and have Rob a backup RT should they both be activated.

We all like what we see with Park. So do the coaches. That being said Higbee brings a lot more to the offense even though he's in his last year(s). They know what they have in Park and he'll still get targets. But Higbeast brings that swag that the players feed off of and I don't see a drop off. That's why I say start him when he's back healthy. It's good to have 2 guys who produce the way they do rather than a couple of Klopfensteins for sure.I just want to expand on why I'm a hard "no."
Those roster spots are important and critical for developing the next wave of talent.
Higbee will be 33 next year.. Havenstein will be 34.
Higs has had multiple injuries and wasn't performing as well as Parkinson. The Rams have 3 really good TEs right now.. you draft another mid-round prospect in hopes of having one ready when you lose one of those three (or maybe even two of them).
Hav's best ball is way behind him... and I love the guy. McClendon has significantly outperformed him this year and is younger, cheaper and, likely, just entering his prime.
Rams should draft a tackle this year.. maybe as high as the second round.. to develop.
It's just time, guys. Let new leaders emerge.. let younger players step up when they've earned it... and all of the players behind those two have earned it.
There's also the money aspect... way cheaper to pay two rookies than those veterans. You'll need every penny with guys like Puka set to get new contracts.
You can't afford to be sentimental in this league and the Rams know that. They were willing to eat money to move on from Kupp....
