Sean McVay: Coleman Shelton ‘separating himself’ in RG competition

It just isn’t like McVay to hand a starting job to a rookie.
I’m sure the competition is far from over.
Besides, it’s a long season; just because Bruss might not be the starter coming out of camp doesn’t mean he won’t be by season’s end.

Based on the quotes, Coleman Shelton is 'separating himself', but the RG competition part may be pure speculation on the part of the author.
I'll wait to see how McVay answers this with his next press conference. jmo.

He absolutely doesn't say at RG but Jourdan is asking about Shelton himself and him being out a lot and he's been "frisky"

Well first off congrats to Coleman. Don't want to take away from him winning this job to date.

As to Bruss it feels like we've had a steady stream of best possible type developments, so it's hard to complain when two rook corners have balled in camp, and Tutu is starting to feel it, and even our oft-injured draft pick with huge upside at edge is practicing uninhibited. I feel incredibly fortunate still this offseason.

If Bruss is a baller he'll bust his ass in the preseason games, get this offense down, and be ready to take that job if Coleman slips up. So either way I feel pretty good about RG still, not as good as I did but all things considered we're still in good shape folks.

All McVay said on the video is that Shelton can play all 3 interior line jobs very well, something we already knew. This is being blown into something that it is not, ... and no-one has nailed down the day 1 starting RG job yet. Sheesh ...

I'm sorry. Someone, anyone, Sean, myself, ANYONE, has said the day one starting job has been nailed down??? I'll hang up and listen...

The author, Skyler Carlin, is apparently looking for click baits, and he got them, but I also learned that he lacks journalistic integrity.

Fair enough. I'm taking him and Sean at his word, but I had no idea he was a Bullshit artist.

The only thing he got right was his quoting of Jourdan Rodrigue who was quoting McVay, that he was 'separating himself'... only those 2 words, his adding RG was all on him.

Very good posts!

Competition in camp and preseason is a good thing. The competition is just getting started. Good for Coleman to get a shout-out by McVay. looking forward to seeing the preseason games and watching the RG and other battles. As reported there is solid depth on this Rams roster.

Obviously this means Shelton is starting at LT over a disappointing Noteboom.
