Sam Bradford had a good enough preseason to raise the expectations for himself and the Eagles.

It was also apparently good enough to embolden him to bet on himself.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Bradford and the Eagles are no longer engaged in talks toward a short-term extension, since his “preseason success changed dynamics.

Translated: If he can do what he did in the preseason for 16 weeks, he can make a lot more money.

Bradford was 13-of-15 for 156 yards and three touchdowns in four drives with the Eagles’ first offense.

Of course, that is a significant risk for a guy coming off a pair of torn ACLs. But in a league where there are far more teams that qualified starting quarterbacks, Bradford could be setting himself up for a huge payday.

It would be hard for the Eagles to justify a big deal now, but buying sight unseen also carries the risk of giving up Nick Foles and a second-round pick for a one-year rental.

Not surprising....Chip isn't the fool I've made him out to be...Only slightly delusional.....slightly...

Good luck to him. But I don't think this ends well from his perspective. Of course, he has made enough to retire wealthy, anyway. But Kelly's system both makes him look better AND I fear exposes him to more hits.

I guess he isn't really gambling much except if he gets guaranteed money in the form of a signing bonus. If he was smart with his money he wont need anymore anyway. But it does come across as a bit greedy.

Front page ESPN, "SAM BRADFORD PRESS CONFERENCE T-MINUS WTF"

Wonder why he didn't get that here lol?

If he stays healthy that system is perfect for him and he'll land another big contract.
If nothing else it will make for good TV.

That's all u see on this damn site Bradford Bradford Bradford. I thought this was a rams site
WTF? That is an idiotic statement. It is the only Bradford thread on the page. Being that he was our QB last season, I'd say that is pretty amazing. Seriously dude.....

No team/GM is going to structure a contract around a QB throwing 15 passes in pre-season games.

What idiot would do that. OK other than the idiots who run the Redskins and Browns. And Raiders.

But nobody else is going to do something like that!
