Not sure you can get a defensive player you like but I'd think Holmes would give up a decent pick to improve that WR corps. Is Woods to Detroit just to obvious?

He is a nice pick for the 5th round especially in comparison to our top WR picks the last 2 years. Vikings were 11th in passing yards and 12th in total offense (slightly below us) so they have a above average offenseHe's a second year WR drafted in the 5th round. He had more production on a mediocre offense with a mediocre QB and a pretty bad OC/HC combo. And he was better than most teams #2 WR's making a whole lot more money than him. If the Rams needed a #3 WR I'd be more than happy with this kid on the team. Nobody here is saying he needs a big contract he's that good though if he keeps progressing the way he did from year 1 to year 2 you're going to see this guy in 2 years get paid and be a big target in free agency. I think Dieter and I are just confused why it's so hard to say this kid had a good year.
And anybody would take Woods as their number 3 over this kid nobody is saying otherwise. But you're talking about the Vikings here who can't afford the bonus for their pass rusher so he's likely to be cut or traded. And you think they're going to take on Woods salary without trading Thielen? They can't afford Woods without dumping more than just Griffins salary. And if they trade Thielen which is very unlikely now after the reworked deal Osborn still is their number 3 WR and guess what? He's still a damned good #3 WR.
YOU said OBJ hit the ground running. If he was so much better than Wood when he "hit the ground" we probably would have won a couple of games in November is all I'm saying. OBJ has had two ACL injuries in the same place and hasn't been that reliable compared to Robert Woods over the last few years to his teams. Not saying it was all his fault, but Robert Woods has been a fucking ROCK in this offense and team. I liked OBJ and appreciated what he did for us, but I'd rely on Robert Woods in the long term much more than OBJ. Your opinion may differ.Dude Woods has been in this offesne for 5 years. Knows the play calls, the concepts, the terminology. What are you talking about? OBJ had to come in and learn the entire offense from scratch with zero chemistry with Stafford. What he did in his half season is much more impressive than what Woods did in his half season, thats my only point. Woods will never be close to the red zone weapon guys like OBJ/Robinson are. Does he add a ton of value elsewhere? Of course he does. I'm just saying it's not ludicrous to entertain conversations about moving Woods when we saw how he played with Stafford this year and he's due $16M.
I'm sorry man but your logic sometimes just damn.Rams with Robert Woods, 7-2
After he went down 5-3
If we don't have OBJ, we were toast. So, realizing that WRs can go down in a blink and all the good teams need 4, wouldn't it be prudent to keep him around?
Well the "logic" I was using was injuries and never having enough weapons (McVay's words). Had we not lucked into OBJ, you think we win the Superbowl? It's not "man, we just won a SB without Woodsy" but "despite Woodsy going down, we were Super fortunate to have LUCKED INTO OBJ".I'm sorry man but your logic sometimes just damn.
We just won the Super Bowl without him. Relying on unknowns too. Rams gonna be just fine if they move him. Woody also might end up happier and enjoy his remaining career more too.
If you want to have Rodgers and Woods knock you out of the playoffs , then go ahead. Stupid move no matter what you get for him.Yea maybe not. But I dont think we should trade him unless its for a legit OLB or CB. Thats the only thing that makes sense to me. Those are our two biggest holes now. No reason to trade Woods just to trade him. The Danielle Hunter deal or something similar make sense if we can pull that off.
Pretty sure he's that dude who used to play first base.Who's nobody? Is he any good?
I'm sure they were ecstatic.I had to share this with my Cardinal brethren....
It's pointless to back and forth this. You and I just process shit differently.Well the "logic" I was using was injuries and never having enough weapons (McVay's words). @OldSchool.....
Sure we had other injuries. Still if you take out Woods high (12 rec) and low (2 rec) in those other 7 games, he was on pace for 75 catches. Plus we averaged more than 10 yards per game on the ground with him, than without him. He's not just a receiver
Huge stretch of logic there but it's all good. Factor in opponents, home and road vs each opponent etc etc etc. You're trying to tie the whole games performance every week to just him which doesn't really work. Yes we're a better team with him don't think anybody would say we aren't but this a+b doesn't always = c with these things just trying to assign it all to Woods.Well the "logic" I was using was injuries and never having enough weapons (McVay's words). So far, 5 Likes and 3Pretty sure he's that dude who used to play first base.
The Browns owner has been a dipshit since day one. Annnnnd he's still a dipshit.

Christian Kirk does not approve of this message.I agree that month had a lot to do with his loss. I agree he's not a JAG. He's just not worth that contract they paid him. Not when your strategy is to pay elite players and cobble together a roster around them.
Yep and fortunately for Kirk he signed with a team that isn't loaded with high end talent on big contracts. So he might get a couple years before he's on the chopping block.Christian Kirk does not approve of this message.
I'm not trying to "tie it" to just Woods. I'm speaking of the WR corps. You don't think it was a stroke of very fortunate luck we got OBJ? The fact it was 2 days before Woods was injured made it even more fortunate. No stretch of logic there. Tell me the Rams go 5-1 the last 6 games and win 4 in the postseason with Kupp, Jefferson and Skowronek!! Like Tom Jackson used to say, Come On Man!!! Hell OBJ came up huge in Baltimore and the first half of the Superbowl. It appears some fans are ignoring logic.Huge stretch of logic there but it's all good. Yeah and ain't I glad!!It's pointless to back and forth this. You and I just process shit differently.
