Just found out about this Forum, so wanted to make an introduction.

The name is Mark and I'm 28 living in Copenhagen, Denmark.

My NFL journey started back in 2001 where I saw my first Super Bowl between the Ravens and the Giants. However none of those teams were the ones I fell in love with. The Greatest Show On Turf however was so spectacular for me as a child. I was only 11 years old at the time, and in danish television only one or two games was shown every sunday. They showed a couple Rams game that following season and I could not be stop. My interest grew and grew and in Denmark it was such a niche sport, so it was hard really to get to know the game just by tv. So I began following the Rams primarily through the Rams website, and NFL.com where I followed play-by-play action on the Scores section. (Imagine the time back then :D) Also wrote a bit on STL post dispatch site back then.

Wow am I glad I now get to have NFL gamepass and being able to see every single game. However danish TV coverage of NFL became bigger and bigger, they started showing multiple games and the TV rights were now being persued by other TV channels. So now the sport is actually quite big in Denmark, and we have a very passionate danish forum for the Rams.

Anyhow the Rams side under MM with Warner, Faulk, Holt (fav player) and Bruce was so epic and those guys playing in the dome in some great uniforms I though back then, was the reason for me becoming a Rams fan.

Now I follow as much as I can. I watch all the pressers, listen to various different NFL and Rams podcasts during the week, watch all the games of course. Have also seen them twice in London, and the plan is to see them in L.A when the new stadium opens.

Let's get that second trophy now!!! GO RAMS

Hello everyone! I've been reading this site since -X- lead the exodus away from RamStalk at the StL PD. Finally got around to joining up. I was born in Minnesota to a huge extended farming family. Got a shitload of uncles, aunts and cousins who loved the Vikings. Yeah, I was brought up in the land of purple and gold. Didn't know much about football as a little kid, but I had to be a Vikings fan. Moved to Anaheim, CA while in elementary school in 1974. As I got to follow football more, I quickly became a Steelers fan. Loved me some Jack Lambert and Mel Blount. But a funny thing happened during the 1980 Steelers-Rams Super Bowl. I found myself cheering for the RAMS!!! It was really a magical transformation. Been a Rams fan ever since. Die hard. Through thick and thin. I was fortunate to work at Anaheim Stadium during my high school and early college years, serving brunch to the Mr. Irrelevent group, who rented out the baseball press box. So after finishing up my work, I got to stick around and take in the second halves of the games. Man, Eric Dickerson was amazing!! 1990 rolled around, I graduated and moved to Japan. Although Georgia had already started her evil plan, I wasn't there to feel the real stench of her deeds. So while some friends turned their backs on the team, I continued to follow them in StL. Hell, they were still the Rams! I'm so glad Stan Kroenke took over and (no disrespect to StL) moved the team back to LA. They've got an incredible brain trust running the organization, and an innovative head coach to lead the men to the playoffs and more Super Bowls in the future. GO RAMS!

Well, when I graduated from college, I was kinda burnt out from studying. I really didn't want to start off on the career path yet. I saw a poster recruiting recent grads to teach English in Japan, and thought, "Yeah, that might be a pretty cool adventure for a while." So I was accepted, and posted to a rural town. I met a lot of great people, and became part of their tight little community. If anybody travels to a foreign country, I highly recommend getting out of the cities and seeing the "real" country. I put in for another year, and then another. During this time, I met my wife. We decided to put off going back to the US, and started our own small language school. And so the first couple roots took hold. We've had a few opportunities to return, but each time something (pregnancies, new work for more money)) came up. So now my roots are firmly in Japan, and it's difficult to pull 'em up. Keeping up with sports and especially my teams (Rams, Angels, Lakers) has always given me comfort during any down, lonesome times. Glad to finally be part of the ROD family!

Thanks for sharing! I just read that to my wife. It's funny how things "work out like that".

I was fortunate to spend a couple of weeks in Tokyo and Kyoto for work. I added an extra week and my wife joined to tour around, saw Hiroshima, etc. We were there when the cherry trees were blooming just by chance... it was so beautiful. We also found the food very good and tried to eat at places off the beaten path. People were so great to us.

Welcome once again!

You had me with the Judas Priest screen name reference. Killing Machine (He’ll Bent for Leather) is arguably their best album. Yes, I know it was originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac, but c’mon. Rob Halford.

Curious. What was your name at RamStalk?

Hi there, I'm Paul. Been a fan since the late 70's.

Grew up in Thousand Oaks, CA back when the Cowboys trained at Cal Lutheran every summer. Resisted the other kids and refused to be a Cowboys fan, even while the 'Boys used to beat up on the Rams in the playoffs at that time.

Currently living in Arizona for a second go-around. Coincidentally, each of the Rams' Super Bowl appearances this century have come after my wife and I moved from California to Phoenix.

Unfortunately, we've now got bookend defeats at the hands of Belichik and Brady both times. Anyway...

Glad to be here, look forward to joining the conversations!

Paul

@BlueRamalishi Welcome, man! We both have some things in common: Sounds like we are roughly the same age, I lived in Bloomington, Mn '69-72, and eventually moved back to Cali (Northern) in '74.

My dad took us to Vikings training camp in'70 or '71 and I was able to meet Alan Page. As a little guy, I remember his purple sports car. My dad worked with him during the off-season. (Before the million-dollar contracts, guys had to work in the off-season. )

Anyway, nice to have one of us represent from Japan. Don't be a stranger.

Sorry. I guess I was a bit misleading. I was a regular reader of the other site, but never participated in discussions, thus no screen name. I always figured that it was natural for people on forums to disagree and argue sometimes, and I'd just have to wade through the muck in order to read up on my team. I caught wind of a new forum (ROD) made up of some of the RamStalk members that were sick of the arguments and tension, checked it out, and I started to read both. I quickly grew to prefer ROD. I love the passion everyone has for our team. There are a lot of knowledgable contributors. And I greatly appreciate the desire to have civil discussions. So again, glad to finally be a part of the family!

Hello fellow Ram fans,
I live in Louisville Kentucky and have been a Rams fan since about 1977. I first became a fan because of their helmets and then when I was looking at my football cards when I was little I started reading the back of Pat Haden's card and I read his B-Day was January 23rd the same as mine and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Over the years I have seen them play in St.Louis,Indianapolis and in Cincinnati , I wanted to go see them last year (December 2017)against the Titans in Nashville but it was on Christmas Eve and I had too many get togethers going on.All though we ended up 1 game short loved this last season and looking forward to the beginning of next.

Hey Paul,

I remember those days with the Cowboys at Cal Lutheran. I went to football camp there in 7th grade for a week when guys like Drew Pearson, Tony Hill, Rafeal Septien, Tony Dorsett, etc. We got to eat in the same cafeteria with them. It was cool, but didn't stop me from being a Rams fan. I to moved to Phoenix area, about 5 1/2 years ago and go to the Rams/Cardinals games out here every year.
