MP, Talib, NRC, JJ, Weddle, Rapp - Is there a better secondary in the league?? Fowler and Matthews are soooooo much better than the edge rushers we had last year. SJD hasn't been too bad in the middle, but I think the reason we cant stop the run is our LBs. Hager is a liability and Littleton isn't good in run defense, so in 3-4 base we are still relatively weak against the run, but also weak against the pass. Wade prefers for our "base" to be nickel which means we will always be smaller and more susceptible to the run. But I think last year showed rush defense is a little overrated, as long as we can rush the passer and create turnovers this D is going to be hard to deal with.

I think we were just a bit spoiled by how dominant our offense was prior to the Bears game last year. It's not as smooth right now, but that's true for the majority of teams across the league. Look at the Browns. Most people picked them to be breakout stars, but they're playing extremely sloppy football.

Yeah, our offense isn't the force it was for much of last year yet. But the team, as a whole, is playing well. I agree that we're not firing on all cylinders, which makes it all the more impressive that we're still winning. Hell, even Hekker and Greg haven't been their dominant selves. But I don't think this is really what people mean by Super Bowl hangover. It's pretty typical for most of the league over the first month of the season.
That is all fair, but the trend is not pointing up, it is pointing down.

jrry, could not agree with you more. We are spoiled; things aren't running as smoothly as we normally do so people are pointing fingers. And yet, we've have yet to hit our stride. Despite the mistakes our guys actually did pretty well on both sides of the football. More importantly, Superbowl hangover implies that we would be playing much worse. Yet we are still winning. I'm curious to see how we continue to progress through the season. If we end up starting 5-0, i when does the hangover begin? Because it feels like we aren't even at our best yet. At our worst, we still can beat teams.
All this means, and I have always said it, good teams can, and often will, win ugly games. I think it defines good teams. Bad teams rarely, to never, have ugly wins.

However, you can’t beat other good teams consistently with ugly wins. You just can’t. You don’t. These “ugly wins” are not a thing you can always do, they are a sweet rarity. You, certainly can’t depend on these, nor should you.

I’m concerned that we are not showing improvement on offense, nor any form of consistency. We are all happy with the end results at this point, but. I guarantee, nobody on the team is happy with the process. We need to get better, a lot better. Insert 3 different teams, and we could easily be 0-3.

Only 5 NFL teams have 2 road wins as of this second. Celebrate RAMFANS!!!

Guys, a defensive win is not an ugly win. The D is beautiful this year. If you double Donald, you have Clay and Fowler racing to the ball. Baker was 50% today, and most of his passes were dinks.

Goff looked better this week too. At one point in the 4th, we were 10/12 on 3rd down, not sure what the final numbers were. He was scrambling some too, which is good. When Goff gets in a rhythm, he likes to fit it in tight coverages. It worked vs the Vikings last year, but some of those will get tipped. He just needs to check it down some.

Yall have to accept that the D is our strength this year. That happens when you invest in great defensive FA veterans and accept having two new, now 3, OL starters that had NO previous starting experience. The offense will take a hit until you get that continuity back.

Not sure what people want man. Look around the league. Does anybody have anything to write home about? most teams have either lost important players, are completely flawed, or have cupcake schedules. The team we are now, will not be the team we are at the finish line regardless of what that may be. The only team that cemented themselves ahead of everyone currently are the Patriots. And even they have a cupcake schedule. I'm not sure what people want 3 weeks into the season. Should we have just decided to lose all three games instead of winning them?

We can't get much worse than how we are currently playing. We've already won two road games despite getting off to slow starts. We've scored at least 20 points in all three games thus far this season. This is the most adversity we've had in the last three years. Sean McVay has only been a headcoach for 3 years, that means he is still liable to being out coached from time to time. If you want better Quarterback play, that's fair. But honestly most of us just know McVay and Goff both can be better. This defense is better than last years defense, and we went to the Super bowl with that defense. I'm just not worried...because other teams haven't exactly given me anything to be worried about. Ask me when we lose, and how we lose when we finally do; then I'll hit the panic button with anyone else in here not celebrating this win. But context is everything.

I'm pretty sure the Eagles wish they won their game on Sunday. Or shit even their game last week. We could easily be 0-3 like anybody else. The Seahawks haven't looked so hot either. And the niners? They look improved, and are winning just like we are; but had some struggles of their own against a Steelers team with a Quarterback you've never even heard of having a nearly identical passer rating to Jimmy. The grass always looks greener on the other side...

Do you want a response, what is your point? I’m happy for the win. We are not playing well though. Is that taboo? I continue to look around the league, and we are not a great team comparatively.

Half of what you said, backs up my point. We are not playing well. Is all that I am saying, and searching for why.

What do I want, man? I want to play better as a team. That is it.

Lol I mean, I just agreed with you, we aren't playing well. I shared my opinion, on your opinion. You did respond to me, did you not expect a response in turn? As for my point, nobody is being blind as you said. We just know our team can be much better and have faith they will be. Its not blind faith, lol I mean considering we are 3 and 0 at the moment. Take it how you want to take it. You'll just have very few people complaining about a team 3 and 0 despite not giving their best performance on the road in a hostile environment.

Not complaining, concerned. I think a lot of fans are concerned, and I think their concerns are warranted.

It was ugly. But, I'll take it. In January, it will look like any other W.
Besides, how many teams win when the QB has a rating of 42? That is ugly - but THANKYOU Mr Kupp!!

i can get used to the rams starting 3 and 0 every year. i couldn't give a fuck how they look or who they played. style points don't count in the win column, only wins count.

and the rams have won every game they've played this season. i'll let the coaches worry about fixing whatever needs to be fixed. i'm just gonna enjoy the fact the rams have won every game this season.

does this sound like a coach who was disappointed with his qb?

he even brought out the "you don't get style points" at the end. winning is everything.

I'm more relieved they won. Very little rhythm on offense. Also Bones doesn't appear to have the STs as sharp as the last few years. This game should not have been that close. I hope McVay figures it out fast.

Yes we just need to accumulate the Wins. Wasn’t pretty ... but our O can significantly improve. The D was tremendous. Matthews and Weddle great additions.

Damn fine win on the road and in an extremely hostile (loud) environment, Cleveland in Cleveland is gonna make some good teams look very bad

@DR RAM is not wrong there are areas of concerned, but I also believe they might of uncovered something last night with teams utilizing the Patriot defense is run right at it. Seem to get some major real estate running right up the gut.

Problem is, it not exciting and you have to be patient and Goff should not audible out of it. Some penalties for Demby, but he did not get Goff killed, so hopefully Blythe is back next week and the Rams can solve some offense issues at home before they play that team up North.
