For Henderson?
Yes. He is a decent 3rd down back.

The guy isn't useless.
They were not yet giving up on the season at the trade deadline. They were trying to acquire players. So why trade Henderson?

That was 3 injured OL and 3 losses ago.

I don’t see why anyone think Akers is gone this off-season unless he doesn’t make the cut in camp. He’s under team control, they brought him back after whatever the fuck happened, they are not going to just cut him.

Henderson was different, he was on the last year of his contract.

So Henderson wanted to be a Ram 3 weeks ago and now he doesn't?

This bullshit with Akers and now Hendo is very odd.

Who says to use the roster spot on a running back?
Well you need at least three I expect Rivers to be promoted to the permanent roster unless & hopefully they have their eye on someone on a practice squad.

Here's my take... McVay said that Hendo injured his knee on Sunday. If Hendo did injure his knee and asked to come out, I would cut his ass too. He gets dinged up constantly. The other scenario is that he got frustrated and showed it in the locker room, so McVay cut his ass. Either way... not a good look for Hendo, and neither is posting on social media that you are happy about it.

I thought he had a good chance of being a very good running back coming out of college. Unfortunately, he was very ordinary and constantly got hurt. And who knows.. maybe he and Akers were pouting together for weeks in the RB room. You know...misery loves company? Akers survived, Hendo did not. Next man up.

I am neither happy or unhappy that he is gone, but I am kinda bummed to see the Rams falling apart like this.

Its just bizarre. They couldn’t have traded Henderson at the deadline because Akers was awol, (Not that I think Hendeson had trade value)
And Williams was busy keeping Bruss company on the rookie IR
I don’t think that McVay is ready to admit the seasons over, and that he’d let Hendo just leave as some noble gesture.
Just can’t make sense of it, although it sure seems that RB’s seem to end their career for the Rams under curious circumstances. Gurley a black cloud, Michel was workhorse all year then MIA and gone without a thought, and now this? Very weird

Love mcvay but I'm not so sure now it's a bad look on Hendo or Akers this is odd Hendo has been a good soldier and Akers had to til the rift and lost of us sided with management coaches etc myself included but now if it's just a cut because of an outburst or showing frustration the same frustration Akers had. That's a problem. Not every RB will be Gurley and if I recall we had some games even when he was healthy that we questioned his usuage so this is a bit sketch.

NEW THEORY!

Hendo and Akers hated each other but tried to keep it together for the good of the team. Akers looked like the bad guy, so the Rams tried to get something for him, to no avail. Since he is back, and under team control (unlike Henderson), the Rams chose to waive Henderson because there's even more tension since the team is getting worked every week.

Who said he wanted to be here 3 weeks ago? Not sure it mattered either way because the Rams still felt they had a shot, but now being 3 more OL in the hole and sitting at 3-7, it seems they changed their mind. That's all that matters.

And BTW, now that Williams is in the mix and the season is over, why wouldn't he want to go somewhere where he has a chance to increase his market value?

This says a lot seems rbs on the Rams only want to run from the Rams wow

RBs on all teams are really devalued... or treated like one of many instead of a bell cow in the game today. There are still a few bell cows out there but they are not common... and the teams that put their team's offensive hopes mostly in their hands are finished as soon as that bell cow gets dinged up.

It's not just a Ram thing, it's a league thing now. I'm sure this has caused most RBs to feel like it's them against the world nowadays. Their careers have a short shelf life compared to other positions as it is. They have no choice but to put themselves ahead of almost everything... including the "We Not Me".

It's just the way the league has evolved. Can't blame the teams or the RBs for the way they have to react.
