I wore my never worn before Kupp Jersey instead of my AD throwback today.

Won't make that mistake again. Had no idea how big of an effect that would have.

Never again.......
My wife didn't wear her rams jersey today, said it was in the wash. I blame her as I wore my lucky Rams T-shirt and drank the good luck Scotch. I guess it wasn't enough.

I am too upset to just vent on one thread.

Here are my beefs with the news conference McVay had after this game:
  • Lighting kept turning on and off... VERY distracting. $10B stadium should have better set up
  • McVay has developed this habit of pursed lips after every response. Bugs me.
  • Why can't I hear the questions from the galley?? I have to watch McVay nod his head and purse his lips while I wonder what the freaking question is. $10B stadium should have better set up (sounds familiar)
  • Why does it feel like I listened to the whole thing, yet learned nothing? Kind of like watching all the tape on how we've contained Murray, yet learned nothing?

I get laying an egg but I'd prefer my eggs on the road not in a divisional game for 1st place at home.
How could you not be pumped for first place as a player? That's concerning. I would of hated it but accepted an egg in Seattle after this game but this is bothersome. My week is shot now Thursday becomes way more important.

Well, I decided for my peace of mind, I'm not going to read through the GDT or this thread, after just getting home from work. Very disappointing because I think our team is better, but didn't prove it today. Looks like I'll be posting a form letter of congratulations to the 20 or so Card fans who are waiting for me to show up on YouTube, lol.
Peace.

The offensive system is a big question mark. I hate the hurry up offense. If they do not get first downs the defense is back on the field not rested.

I had questions about Stafford before this season. Came to fruition today.

Someone pointed in the GD thread that this was sort of a trap game. Coming off a big win and then big game @SEA on Thursday. Yes trap games are 100% real.

If we win on Thursday then today was an aberration. If we don't win we won't know what he have moving forward.

Anyone criticizing the defense had too high expectations for the unit. I said this before. The offense has to carry this team and it has to be REALLY good.

My concerns going forward on offense is zero point zero.

The defense is failing, however. You've got to take SOMETHING away from the other teams offense, and it can't just be to take away the big play deep and let them run & pass all day on you.

Yup, I forgot him. He should be taking over for Robert Woods soon I think. Woods hasn't been much of a factor.
I don't think Woods is the issue. For whatever reason, Stafford doesn't have the trust in him that Goff did. Hell, trade Woods to Detroit, and I bet the dude is feasting again.

I must say, never saw a McVay offense struggle this much in a game where the OL played this well. Gave the QB plenty of time in the pocket and they ran the ball at will. Strange game.

Hopefully we didn't find out why such a talented QB never reached his potential in Detroit.
Maybe our defense made Matt think he was playing for the Lions again…and he reverted

100% correct...

The Rams might be able to get JR Reed back later. He brings the wood when he hits!

Rookie Robert Rochell should be looked at as a replacement for David Long quickly. Long needs to have his snaps cut in half.

DC Morris has been praising Rapp since TC, which sent off alarm bells with me. IMO Rapp is @ his best a reserve strong safety. I would think about moving Fuller up into Rapp's safety position. Get Terrell Burgess prepared or Ju Ju Hughes if Burgess is still having foot issues roaming back in the deep zones in place of Fuller.
Coaches get real uncomfortable with playing rookies and first year guys, but it can't get much worse then 22 and 24.

It's a game like this that should force the move, unless coaches are being stubborn - Which I hope to God Mcvay doesn't become.

the league is on to our jet sweeps too
Which ones? I don’t remember a single one and when would we even need it? We were running at like 8 yards per carry?

Should have just run it since we couldn’t stop them.

We gave them 200 on the ground, and let them have short, medium and even long passes.

We literally had a game plan that took away nothing.

24 is a good player in the right role. Morris refuses to use him in that role. He should be playing as a hybrid safety/linebacker. Use him in the box to cover TEs and help stop the run when we need more athleticism on the field. He is not at home in deep coverage. Yet, Morris keeps sitting back in these C-2 shells with Rapp playing deep zones. Bring him into the box.

We're going to lose 3-5 games realistically. I'd rather get beat by a really good team than a shitty team. Cards are very legit and their defense is better than I thought.

Stafford had an off day, maybe needs to stop listening to all the MVP talk. And I hope McVay takes Morris out for a beer tmrw and tells him to pull his head out of his ass or he'll be looking for a new job next year.

Also Rochelle over Long next week please. Give the rook a chance, he cant be any worse and is a much better athlete.
There is no reason we shouldn't end the first 8 at 7-1. Seahawks, Giants, Lions and Texans. Lots of room to get Rochel and Burgess or JR Reed experience before the last half of the schedule.

Agreed, he has been effective in that role to an extent. But even there he can get isolated on a WR in certain looks and it's easy money for the offense, like Godwin route last week. He just is not a good cover guy. Maybe they can carve out a role near the line like last year, use him on blitzes and like a linebacker but that requires Morris to do a philosophical 180 which doesn't look likely.

He's a good cover guy if you put him on TEs and HBs. There are basically no safeties in the NFL who can handle Godwin 1 on 1. You can keep him from getting isolated on Godwin in those situations by running a scheme like Staley's. Morris's scheme just doesn't look much like Staley's. Our guys are far less aggressive in zone coverage.

I'm disappointed Burgess isn't playing. I'd like to see him in the slot or at deep safety in place of Rapp.

My guess is Burgess is not 100% back. That injury he suffered was very serious. Hopefully he can get back to 100% soon because he would be way better playing instead of Rapp at deep safety

I don't know Stafford couldnt hit an open receiver, and the receivers didn't get open often. Some stops from the D would have been nice, but wasted today.
Stafford was underthrowing and missing people all day, makes me wonder if he's injured?
And McVay has become addicted to the long ball and just couldn't stay with the run.
I don't even want to comment about how our star studded defense played!:crap:

They better do something quick or we're gong to be out of contention for the division before the half way point of the season.
