Because someone BONAMEGO thought Sloman was better?

It’s a real mystery that we likely will never leave Snead’s office.
FIFY lol. Nobody will ever convince me that Bonamego wasn't all over that decision. New hire at ST coach there is no way that isn't his show.

Just like with Staley being behind Floyd. One of Snead's strengths is aligning his scouts every year to prioritize what the staff wants.

IMO Bonamego missed the low trajectory on Sloman's kicks. It doesn't matter if you can hit for 50 in practice if your trajectory is so low that teams can stack for it and get blocks.

Remind me why the fuck we didnt draft Blankenship again?
Because nobody did.
Doesn't have a very strong leg. His longest FG on the year is 44 yards. Sloman didn't pan out, but he had the leg to hit from 60.
Not a strong leg at all. Sloman was heavily criticized for his KO depth, or lack thereof, Blankenship doesnt even kick off for the Colts.

Blankenship is the fucking man. Huuuuuuge mistake our genius special Ed teams Coordinator drafted the lame duck Sloman instead of Blankenship.

'But Sloman kicks all the Kick Offs and WAS Drafted in the 7th round he must be good.. Sean McVay wouldn't let him get drafted since he handles kicker talent directly in his special kicker office!!!"

The googles says he doesn't care he's splitting the uprights on a weekly baby!

So anybody know, How did Sloman do this last weekend?

Well, the 32 NFL teams cared about his underwhelming leg strength. That's why he went undrafted. It's too bad Sloman didn't pan out.

Fuck it do we really need a kicker? Just game plan like we don't have one.
I remember a game in St Louis back in 2000. After looking it up it was during their 6-0 start and the last win of that 6-0 start. Warner broke a finger the following week in KC and then the wheels fell off a bit.

Anyway, they played the Falcons and Wilkins got hurt early. So Martz was going for it on 4th down anytime inside the Falcon 40 and they went for 2 after every TD. Hung 45 on them.

I remember it well. There was a kind of pressure-less freedom to the whole situation.

This kid has a strong leg, just not very accurate even for XP.

Yeah, we just want to keep our heads down after his spectacular failure. ;)

Hopefully, he can regain his college magic. Odd that he was so much less accurate in the pros. Hit over 86% of his college kicks.
Adjusting to the hashmarks hit him harder than some maybe? I don't get that either he was very good in college.

Usually, that's easier in the NFL because college has wider hashes.

Any relation to Ben? Bonus If he can kick the f out the ball thru the end zone on kickoffs. I can’t stand to watch another 40 yard return against our lousy kickoff team.

Usually as it narrows the angles to hit but some could have a problem with it, kicking is just as much mental as physical IMO.
