Looks like the Rams chose Quantity over Quality in this year’s Draft.

I am guessing they went this direction because they felt like they needed to fill out their roster and better to do that with late draft picks than to wait for the undrafted free agents to become available AND Snead probably thought he could find some underrated players/gems in the later rounds (I hope he is right!!).
 
I think quantity over quality was always going to be the name of the game this year for the Rams - they hold a number of picks, but none of them overly high, in a draft that is allegedly deep but somewhat lacking in higher-end talent. And there are lots of holes on the roster to fill.

TOTALLY AND RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE!!!

Steve Avila is a day 1 starter and the kind of OL we never seem to get. I'm sick and damn tired of 290lb centers being in the QB's lap. I want a hogmolley who pushes back and apparently Avila is exactly what we need. I'm over the moon with him.

Byron Young is a raw, but stupid fast, quick Edge who will also play a lot and well as a rookie.

These are the kinds of picks we need to make to get back to it, imho.

They obviously wanted a QB early but got jumped twice. The edge they chose follows their tendencies, with high analytics with his athletics. He's very fast and quick. He's lacking in length but has show he's actually better against the run than as a pass rusher. As expected as a late 3rd round pick he's raw and projects as a two year project who can play in rotation his first year. Right now Hardy would seem to be the starter with Young playing in rotation. That said, Young has the traits that can make him a quality starter by 2025.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them grab Tune at the end of the 3rd round or early on day three. Tune may not project as a franchise QB for the Rams but as a solid backup and potentially trade bait down the line. Grabbing a C/OG in the second was a surprise but as the rest of the round unfolded with the run on OL it's clear why. Avila is a quality pick for their future center so you can't argue with the pick and will get none from me. He was one of the best IOL in the draft.

I don't see the Rams taking quantity over quality. They haven't gained picks they actually moved up at the backend.

Fuck man you crazy? Lol Best draft I’ve remembered them have in a while!

No 150 lb 5’8” WR in the second with a turns out All Pro Center in the board? Thank goodness they are finally on board!

Looks like you can't make that assertion half way through a live draft.

They might trade 2 5ths and a 6th for a 4th tomorrow. At least let the dust settle before bitching.

I feel our D-line are developmental players looking to make more of an impact within 3 years. Considering our lack of pass rush, run blocking, and significant pass protection last season, I feel pretty good that our established playmakers will be able to make an impact with the retooling of the trenches

I will say there is evidence they would have taken Hooker at 69. Brad Holmes traded just in front of us, he doesn't do that without a reason and he definitely still has someone in the building/knows us well enough to know what we were going to do. There was also a lot of pre-draft smoke as well, that usually doesn't come from nowhere.

On top of that, we immediately traded down after he was picked.

Not a massive loss, but I feel like we need to start getting more proactive at the QB position. I love Stafford but it wasn't pretty last year and the sun's getting real low...

That's not evidence, its a hypothesis.

If there is someone in the Rams' building funneling information to Holmes, though, he or she should be fired immediately.

Well, so far I'm happy with the quality of their quantity, and definitely like that they are addressing need with value at the picks. No complaints about who they took.

The Rams were targeting Hendon Hooker is an educated guess also known as a hypothesis.

The Lions traded 1 pick in front of the Rams to select Hendon Hooker, Brad Holmes has intimate familiarity with the Rams FO, and the Rams traded down immediately after Hooker was selected. These are all facts that support the hypothesis also known as evidence.

You can debate the validity of the evidence, but by definition it's still evidence.
