Plus trading pick 29 (and three other picks) for one of the best CBs in the league. How’s that for using the draft for immediate 2026 impact! Yet media/etc seems to have forgotten that already.
And I still think we were a shutdown corner away from the Super Bowl.

Same goes for QB. Say Staff gets injured and Simpson comes in and kicks ass. He becomes a future pick and a now pick, just like anyone else we would have picked. It sucks if we would need him this year, but shit happens.
Correct, anything can happen that's for sure. That's why any move is a risk. Simpson could do that or he could totally suck or be in between. We just don't know. I'd personally err on not wanting him to come in because chances of a rookie QB balling out are always slim but not impossible.

While that's definitely true, if I can speak for the anti-Simpson pick crew I don't think they are saying we would get a better Prospect quarterback at 28 or above, I think their argument is to trade up to get our Quarterback, which I also think is extremely flawed and way too costly. And anyways I only put Arch Manning from next year's class ahead of Simpson as a prospect as of right now.
Well moving goal posts is never a good look IMO, comparing a 1 year vet to available QB's 28-32 is a viable comparison. Throwing in a whacky what it we traded up scenario is apples to oranges

I did say Simpson might be able to win a few games but that I wouldn't bet on that.

Whereas if we had a Cooper instead of Puka for 5 games, I would bet that we would still win 3 of the 5 games if I was a betting man on football.
Well, if Stafford is the quarterback, sure they'd win more games. Even if they didn't have Cooper.

I am saying that if I was a betting man that we would lose more games without Cooper than with Cooper if Puka got hurt.

Yeah, relying on a rookie to be the difference maker is not sound decision making. Rookies usually need time. No matter what the position.
Which is why the theory of relying on a Draftee to help win this year's Super Bowl is kinda flawed? I agree.

Now using a pick on Trent McDuffie??? THAT can win this year’s Super Bowl.....
