Maybe for you, but you mean to tell me there isn't some fans that wouldn't? We have fans that questioned McVay hating the pick. If a rookie QB balls out of his mind some crazy fans or media will eventually bring that fact up. It isn't fair but it's true. Hypotheticals drive sports discussions.

If Simpson doesn't turn out to be that guy then so be it. But he has a good shot. I wonder how many quarterbacks over the years woulda been more successful if they had good coaching and someone to teach them from the start?

Well said and exactly what I'm saying the debate is about. I see nothing wrong with either side feeling the way they do. Either road taken is a risk no matter how confident one feels about the other. I appreciate posts like this.

True dat. Here at the Rams though, we like to balance the current with the future. We also try to avoid the "Quarterback Purgatory" that fellow Legacy Franchises Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants have recently found themselves in, upon the retirement of their long-time, Hall-of-Fame, Franchise Quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning. Both going through the ringers with the likes of a washed up Russell Wilson and other Jameis Winston and Justin Fields types. Not where ya wanna be......

I would also agree its a very fine balance. Perhaps if we had a higher pick and stood to get a Tyson or Tate the decision would have been different? As i also stated my PERSONAL "Plan A," was trading up for Jeremiyah Love and not taking Simpson, which was admittedly a "Plan B" wish. I totally get the argument of "going for it," but admittedly like getting the HOPEFUL future Franchise Quarterback a little more. Especially with the pickens being slimmer at 13 and those Top-Level Receivers gone already.

Yeah I am screwed because I was too aggressive with spending money (wife sure didn't help either). I will probably have to work part time when I retire. I would've been the Walmart greeter if they still had those.

Given McVay's history of limiting rookie P/T when they are deep on the depth chart, it's hard to disagree with you on that!

I like the TEs after Puka and Adam but after that yuck if either Adams or Puka go down.

Top WRs being gone is debatable but what isn't. We'll see what all these new players do this upcoming year since there's players that surprise every year. Hopefully we have more of those types than all the other teams.

Definitely debatable, no reason Lemon or Cooper cant prove to be in same class as Tate and Tyson, no reason. All to be seen.

We'll eventually see Simpson play one of these days and find out if it was indeed the correct move. Will be interesting to watch the development.

While that's definitely true, if I can speak for the anti-Simpson pick crew I don't think they are saying we would get a better Prospect quarterback at 28 or above, I think their argument is to trade up to get our Quarterback, which I also think is extremely flawed and way too costly. And anyways I only put Arch Manning from next year's class ahead of Simpson as a prospect as of right now.

I know I never said anything on trading up. What if we get hit with injuries and have a shit season? We could end up with a higher pick than we anticipate. I don't expect that to happen, but every year is different. Although if that happened, maybe they'd go all in for Jeremiah Smith. Anyways, I'd fully expect the Rams to be a really good team as long as we don't get hit hard by the injury bug and/or some really bad luck.

Same goes for QB. Say Staff gets injured and Simpson comes in and kicks ass. He becomes a future pick and a now pick, just like anyone else we would have picked. It sucks if we would need him this year, but shit happens.
