You are correct about mixing up the D and confusing the QB. I think they can get similar Stat production out of lesser talent and get the shut down talent from ramsey on the same play. That doesnt mean he cant still blitz when it looks like man to man once in a while. I dont think Ramsey playing star is as confusing as you think.

To me, Ramsey not playing shut down corner is like a Aaron Judge bunting with men on base.
I can appreciate that take.

I think it's more akin to a basketball team having Giannis and having him stick to Jayson Tatum, rather than have him on the back end in part of a demonic switching scheme.

Some of the same principles come into play... in football you can move guys around and create traffic (picks).. it's not one guy against one guy.

I concur on a new Special Teams Coach, we will have to see how it shakes out, but Chris Tabor (Panthers) and with the Bears previously would be an excellent hire IMHO, if Carolina lets him go because the new HC there could definitely keep him.
Yeah - The Rams kept bones forever. Even making him a HC.
So agree if he becomes available. Sean Mcvay likes finding coaches he admires from afar when given the chance.

Cracking up at the irony of the Chargers playing a soft shell and giving up a massive lead and losing.

Well now you know where The Rams(Mcvay) got it from.

Who knows what’s going to happen around The NFL,even with The Rams coaching staff. Things change fast, but The Rams are ahead of the game right now going into 2023.

Looking at Indy's list of interviews I have to think Raheem has a good chance. He should slay it.

Raheem was a mediocre HC in Atlanta. That said he didn't have a whole lot to work with. Raheem's issues in Atlanta are why he's not a HC already. IMO he's a Rooney Rule interview.

As far as being a DC, Morris had more talent than the Colts on defense but finished ranked around 15th while the Rams finished 18-19 on most services. He's not this genius coach that McVay trumpets. He's a mediocre coach who plays not to win but simply tries not to lose, so he does lose. It's a lesson he refuses to learn. He shows disdain for performance stats and the results reflect that. If your defense can't get off on third downs unless the offense makes a mistake then that defensive scheme is flawed.

The only way Morris leaves the Rams is if McVay fires him. Evero, Flores, and possibly Staley (who potentially could get fired next week) would all be upgrades. Payton has long ago voiced his desire to coach the Chargers because they have a ready made roster. It's a matter of cheap-ass Spanos and Telesco being willing to pay the price.

Ever since McVay's success with the Rams, the trend has been towards hiring offensive minded coaches as HC.

How? He's the worst DC ever :D
Not even close to the worst. Just not good enough for a perennial contender.

But there is no way he won't stand out among that bunch with his energy and leadership, both of which are excellent. The man can run a room and being under McVay I think will help him install a good culture if he gets a job.

Again I think Morris has an excellent shot to be the Colts HC. Former HC after the Saturday debacle plus a highly respected assistant. Irsay hiring Morris will give the Colts some good ink moving forward plus I believe he'll get along great with their GM Chris Ballard.

It’s sad i love the guy as a person, his energy, and the rest but his scheme is dog shit now and it hasn’t worked in the NFL in years and last year the D piggybacked off the O and HOF players that are gone now, then people use that as an excuse:

“ But but last year we won a Super Bowl…”
:eyeroll:

I find myself wondering who his DC choice would be. Will be intriguing if he gets the gig.

I really like the guy. Just not as my DC.

Not good enough for a contender as the defending Super Bowl champion DC :D

Never gets old the hate the man gets. I really wish we would have actually replaced Miller with somebody competent and had a #2 CB this year. This thread wouldn't exist but we fans are nothing if not fanatical.

Rams never lost anything close to what the Chargers did last night.

I'm sure this was supposed to be blue font and sarcasm and you know that that collapse was waaaaaaaaay worse than anything ever done by a Morris D with the Rams.

There's nothing close.

Hate. Such an overused word to defend positions on things nowadays.

Eric Henderson would be his choice for DC, Pep Hamilton for OC.

Yeah I rarely use it but lately it's been used so much towards me wrongly that it stuck this time. The anger towards Morris for doing the best he can when his boss took tools away from him baffles me. Especially after him carrying the team last year in the playoffs primarily keeping us in the Super Bowl. A year later he's not good enough according to this forum. Gratitude has a short shelf life it seems.

This is the big boy league OS. It's not fair. But it is driven by results and the results of this team suggest there's gonna be heads rolling.
