We've seen Goff lead a elite offense before. So in those regards when you have the 22nd ranked scoring offense. I think some of the blame goes on the head coach as well. I know our oline isn't great but they are atleast average with big Whitt.

The way I see it. If Shanahan and niners can score more PPG then the Rams with 3 QBs and hurt skill players all season. McVay should be able to generate more offense with a healthier team. Not to say we can't improve personnel. But c'mon the 22nd scoring offense for the genius? There's plenty of blame to go around in my opinion.

Of course Mcvay takes some blame... but I don't think he is the main issue, It's a combination of a handful of things.

Of course there's issues. This offense has been shitty. You bet there's pressure there from McVay. You bet Goff didn't like Wolford starting. Of course there are differences of opinion.

Goff knows he's the better QB. McVay has to make the best call for the team. None of this is even mildly surprising.

The sideline yes. Also the change in McVay in his pressers. He's pissed about this offense man so you know Goff is feeling that.

I want to call bs but I just dont feel that way. If goff isnt the starter I dont think the relationship will ever be the same. Especially if they lose.

Is McVay going to invent a QB out of thin air? We have no first round pick. We have lack the money to spend big on a QB. So where are we getting our next QB?

He may already be on the roster. I bet he's hoping it's Wolford. Or perhaps even Bryce Perkins.

If this is true, I see it as McVay looking out for the team and Goff trying to keep his pride. If anything serious happens to that thumb it could effect our future. Alot of players do t think in the long term, it seems.

But I'll take this as a typical stir of the pot to find something to talk about

Didn't bother to read any of the tweets but watched the vid. I don't disagree with his commentary but i try to keep this in perspective.

McV has been put into a very difficult situation due to
a) current injuries during a playoff run
b) a starting QB who was struggling prior to injuries

I don't believe there's a rift growing or whatever between coach & QB here. That reeks of manufacturing a story and clicks. After four years of leading the We not Me culture Goff is going to suddenly cry mutiny? I seriously doubt it.

I'm glad Goff is showing some competitiveness by saying the thumb doesn't hurt, he'll be fine, he wants to be in there etc. Fact is that McV is going to do whats best for the team to win the next game and IMO the players understand that including Goff. That is why this We not Me stuff was so important from the beginning and those who openly cried about this or that aren't here anymore.

Wolford isn't a starting caliber QB. Perkins is a UDFA who has spent the year on the practice squad.

But, he may not share the same opinion that you have on the kid. Also, there may be a QB or two available outside of the 1st round that could fit.

Well if he believes his own hype. Maybe that's exactly what he's thinking. I'm kidding of course...atleast I hope lol.

We have heard some in the media say McVay is so good he can plug n play any QB just about. I don't buy into that crap. But a few appearently do.

Who in their right mind wants a QB in a throwing league to be playing that just had surgery on his throw thumb less than 2 weeks ago and has three pins in it?!? Like that’s crazy.

McVay might have an issue with Goff or might not - idk. But McVay not playing him has everything to do with the thumb being jacked up and not something Goff should be playing with normally.

There are definitely issues. The change to our offense is either McVay having to adjust to Goff regressing or he has a play callers version of writers block. Either way. Something has to be fixed. Goff has been very effective... something has changed and I dont buy for a second its all on the line.

That said. We have no first and no money. We are stuck with Goff for a bit longer. Maybe he pans out. Maybe he doesn't. But, he is who we will be riding with. So we need to accept it. I saw that if we cut him we would have like $30mil in dead cap.

Let's hope for the best. I would gladly take Goff as a solid game manager who doesn't turn the ball over.

This is what it is, and its fairly common sense. But the potential riff is Goff himself thinks he can start..and thinks he should be. While McVay doesn't think he can execute at his usual level with the injury and prefers Wolford right now. Goff is a competitor and wants to start. So either piss him off and trust your gut with Wolford, or roll Goff out there far less than 100%. Its a tough situation for McVay.

off season trade of Goff? it is possible
train

I dont think so. Im not even sure if he was to amend his contract to make himself tradable that we would get anything worthwhile in trade. At least, nothing that offers us a replacement of equal or greater QB play.
