Even if Goff didn't throw the pick we still lose. We couldn't score touchdowns and no guarantee that we would've scored one on that drive. Cant beat Seattle kicking field goals.
Yeah, it wasnt like the INT was in the Redzone, Seattle took over at their own 35. The play sucked and cost at least 3 points, but surely wasnt the difference. Seattle opening drive of the 2nd half for a TD was a killer, like the week before

Yes, thats what I think we will get from Wolford for THIS game. Beyond that, i don't know how he projects long term. I'm confident he can come in...hand it off...run P.A...extend plays, and do ENOUGH to get us a W. Not saying he's taking us to the Superbowl or anything...
So converting 3 downs shouldnt be a problem despite Arizona being 13th in the league in conversion rate? And Wolford wont turn the ball over against a team that has forced 19 turnovers in 15 games? I think he'll do what young, inexperienced QB's do, get excited, make mistakes. He threw an INT per game in the goof ball league, not sure how he wont do that in the big boy league

Yeah, I'd like a MLB. Just having PTSD over how bad Goff's decision making is. Hopefully, it will pass. Otherwise we can argue all off season.
He has a rough season ... sure but we have seen the good he can do ... I think he rebounds next year

The coach was right next to him leaning in so Goff could see what he was talking about on his play pad and Goff was staring off up at the sky and then out in front of him. Didnt even acknowledge his coach was right there. Wasnt even looking at what his coach was talking about. You cant get anymore obvious that you aren't paying attention, and the guys I was watching the game with mentioned it as well.

When I am focusing intently on what somebody is saying, I typically stare out into space. You're making baseless assumptions based on a short clip of Goff on the sideline.

You dont have to be looking at someone to pay attention to what someone's saying. Like Jrry said. Come on.

If Goff had a behavior problem, that's the kind of stuff you would hear leaked in the media. Based on all evidence I've seen, the man remains the quiet, calm type both on the field and in the locker room.

I think Wolford will do ENOUGH to get us a W in this game. Will he have a 300 yard, 4 TD game? Probably not...Will we blow out ARI? Probably not...do we need Wolford to have that type of game or do we need to blow out ARI for the win? No...Wolford has some decent things on tape and I think McVay will find a way to get the best out of Wolford (whatever that is) and get us into the playoffs.

I think Wolford will give this team a wrinkle the cardinals aren't used too. We have enough weapons and if he scrambles and buys time woods cooper can thrive on those types of situations cause they can find the weak spots for a dump off. In addition they will have to prepare for more scrambling for positive yardage if you need to cover our receivers and do all that shit to confuse Goff and blanket them etc. Wolford will have a lot of grass in front of him. They cannot play this like they play Goff. I know Goff lights them up all the time hopefully the wolf man will as well in whatever way. I'd take it on the form of a victory.

Btw Haskins anybody??? Lmaoooo

Seattle opening drive of the 2nd half for a TD was a killer, like the week before

2 weeks and a day ago, the Rams were an NFC favorite and Staleys name was the hottest around.
2 weeks and a day later, the sky is falling.
2 years ago Goff was a pro bowl QB who went to the SB in his 2nd real NFL season. 2 years before that he was a colossal bust.

Nothing is ever as good or bad as it seems to passionate football fans and eating crow never seems to stop people from forming strong beliefs and making big declarations because there are no actual repercussions for doing so.

Goff with a bum thumb? Wow, it's hard to preach protect the football and stick him back out there, IMO.
While completely true, I'm not sure one can feel confident in Wolford protecting the ball either. He's thrown almost as many INT as games played in College and then the AAF. And wasnt in a high volume passing attack either. Now throw in a rushing attack that could be missing its top 2 rushers?
Tall order for the young man

Agreed, which is why they lose as a team. Many components of the recent 2 game skid. Pointing out 1 components flaws without acknowledging flaws elsewhere is just not accurate. (Not saying you have, just where I'm coming from)

I'm more concerned about fumbles which isn't a strong suit for Goff with a healthy thumb.

I do think Wolford's greatest strength is his processing. He reads quickly and that's a nice thing to have in this offense. I just don't think his size sets him up to be able to sustain it and some throws like deep outs won't be on the schedule to be made with authority so DBs will be able to cheat a bit more than they already do. They already camp out on our short stems but I would think that gets worse now.

Also we know going into this last game that the Rams will prep hard on the run game too. Which is going to help him out.

If I'm McVay I would scheme this one up to take deep shots whenever the alignment is there. Hitting even one early in the game will flip that script on the Cards DBs and change everything.

Gotcha. Ironically, he's actually having his lowest fumble rate a pro, alas...
I'm with you that I'd like to see them dial up some plays for Perkins while we're at it...

Yup winners want to be on playoff teams. This will be two years we don't make the playoffs.
I get the pessimism on the heels of the last two games but we're not eliminated yet.

Wolford will get a full week of practice then

and if the Rams do make the playoffs...........

we will rally around John Wolford , and we will play good football
Maybe Wolford will pull a Nick Foles and win it all for us!
