I tell you right now jordy Nelson being forced into retirement my lord would I love for the raiders to release him and assuming he doesn't run back to the packers have him sign here. Absolute perfect fit he can still play and it would be outstanding an excellent route runner I think it would be seamless but I'm dreaming I guess.

Question is if he's getting return duties back. I don't mind having him at KR to replace Countess and keep Natson on PR.
I'm guessing Natson stays and Cooper just replaces Kupp. I'm so happy he takes over for Countess, I hated watching him take the ball out of the endzone

Is it just me ... or does Countess run kickoffs back from inside the end zone too much?

It's not that he takes them back, it's that he hasn't got far when he does!

Countess (17 returns) is ranked 22nd in KR average with 24.6, most above him have less than 10 returns and only 3 have equal or greater (18 is the highest). P. Cooper is averaging 25 yards, and Natson is averaging 19. I think people are overreacting to his game against SEA.

To be clear, what I'm saying is that I think he should let it just be a touchback more often and start Goff at the 25 yard line.

I'd like to see Pharoh returning kicks and punts. We could use Natson's roster spot on an OL.

I strongly believe he returns so many because that’s what he’s told to do. IIRC cooper brought a lot of his out too. I think McVay feels so confident in the offense (and hekker if they get stopped) that he fine losing 10yards of field position if it means having a shot at a big return or maybe even a td

I get it, I just don't think it's as bad as some think, or it has happened as often. And like @Picked4td mentioned he's most likely coached to do so, if not he'd be benched. From the chart that I just posted there are only 3 returns that put the offense in bad field position and 1 is from a penalty. I'm not trying to say Countess is a good/great return man and if he is to be replaced there will be no tears on my end, I just think some fans are overreacting just a bit to 1 or 2 bad returns.

I agree, nothing against Natson I like the guy and enjoy watching him play but he literally can only return punts. Doesn't do anything else on special teams including return kickoffs. Has zero involvement in the offense. When the NFL forces a numbers game with their archaic 53 man roster it just doesn't add up it being worth having him. Cooper can do both return jobs as the reigning pro bowl selection in that category and at least contribute to the offense on occasion.
