Let me understand, you have acknowledged that we can sign OBJ and resign all of our star players? I’d like to see when that happened. It's amazing, I've been advocating this very stance.
And the same people that argue with me are applauding you and giving you thread winners![]()
What I said was that was unsustainable and led to roster and cap problems. We can sign them but it'll eventually lead to a major rebuild. I absolutely trust the Rams front office to know what they're doing. The discussion came up about paying for everything and I've said it's not sustainable.Let me understand, you have acknowledged that we can sign OBJ and resign all of our star players? Sad you can’t see the difference between @flv discussing what may or may not happen vs you just insisting that it can’t happen.
I’ll stick with trusting the Rams that they know what they’re doing.
I don’t follow. First “the Patriots way” was seemingly the route that the Fisher era was to be run and that was a failure. What's the most interesting to me with this whole off season is how it runs completely counter to what Kroenke and KD have said they admire and want to do. This is the polar opposite of a Patriots off season and we've seen them comment many times about admiring and wanting to run the Rams the same way. You wouldn't see them signing multiple high profile big dollar free agents or make trades for a guy like OBJ who is demanding a huge pay raise. The trades for "troubled" players like Talib and Peters then signing Shields yes that to me seems a very Patriots way thing. I'm not criticizing the off season or the moves. I'm simply commenting on how much some of the things they've done run counter with what they told us they wanted to do, at least the addition of OBJ would be. Getting Suh relatively cheap is a very Patriots thing to do. We'll see how they proceed and how the next couple years go. It's going to be very interesting.
Beckum has the right to refuse and trade, he wants to come to LA and that's all i knowCan anyone tell me if the Rams really have a realistic chance at acquiring Beckum or has all this just been a lot of talk/wishful thinking?? While I think it would be pretty exciting and possibly/probably very explosive (Referring to the Rams Offense!) if the Rams could sign him I still don't understand how they can make the finances/salary cap work when they have other key players (Donald, Suh, Gurley, etc) that they are going to need to re-sign in the near future. And, Even if the Rams can somehow work him into their salary cap I would hate to see them trade too much for him! It seems to me that the Rams still have some other positions that need to be addressed.
flv probably post with a better attitude.:rolllaugh:It's amazing, I've been advocating this very stance.

That seems realistic. Giants need to assess whether they want to or can resign him, whether he will show up for camp, whether the league takes an interest in the video, and whether anyone would be idiotic enough to give some outrageous package of picks. Beckham has leverage if he chooses to tell team he will not resign or report. That could cause the price to drop, maybe a lot. Rams or any other team need to know in some fashion whether he can be signed. All this could take time to stew, with the draft the likely endpoint where teams need to know what they're doing.Who knows? I’m not even sure there’s consensus in the building in NY.
We have no idea if all this is posturing by NY or not.
As @flv pointed out, it’s not a question of if the Rams could work out the numbers.
I’m fairly certain that the Rams are not entertaining sending a QB worth of draft picks to NY, but I could be wrong.
Personally, I question if it’s wise to go that deep in debt, but I’ll support what the Rams FO decides to do.
I’ll stick by what I said earlier that it’s unlikely that something happens before the draft.
While I agree with your take, I'll remind you the guys we have running the show at the moment are capable of just about anything. They may have talked to AD and told him no matter what deals we make, know that we have the funds to make you top dog when the dust settles. That might mean playing this year under his current contract until later in the season. AD's contract makes all the other dominoes fall into place. That man is going to get paid regardless of who's signing the checks. I'm actually good either way and am going to roll with it knowing we are going to be damn good either way. It's just a question of how long it'll last. We, of course, don't have all the information to judge if a move is smart or not. It's kind of like betting on a hand of Texas Holdem after the flop. A lot can happen on the way down 4th Street before you get to 5th Street.99 has to be the #1 priority for the FO
So anything that gets in the way of that mission is out the window
This Odel talk, this Gronk speculation, is all pure market positioning by both the Rams and the player.
For the Rams - It's good branding to be seen as a destination team. LA is a destination. People want to play with Donald and Gurley and for McVay and Wade. It's great for a brand like the Rams to have players of the caliber of Odel and the Patriot TE to be "rumored" to want to play for LA -- it's all good for increasing the fan base. $$$$.
It's all just a dance - our FO isn't going to act as though they aren't interested, of course they are gonna kick the tires on everything regarding improving the talent on the team. But i doubt we see guys Odel or Gronk in horns. All signs point to pure 100% unadulterated showmanship
This regime has changed the narrative overnight - from horrible team to Super Bowl Contenders in 1 year. The change of perception is priceless - and we're gonna see a lot more of this fantasy speculation as we continue to win games.
Looks like Rams are good with the perception that they're the new showtime
