Seems he cleared waivers and is a FA. We’ll see what happens
Really he did? Didn't even know. Now it gets interesting. Obviously if the Rams have legit interest he will be a Ram but I think they said nothing can happen til Monday regardless. Rams may not really be interested time will tell.

I dont think he even hits waivers until Monday at 1pm. He has officially been released but yea teams cant sign him yet.

That's the whole part of this that is hard to believe for me, that with his newly reconstructed contract that no one would use a waiver claim on him. Just seems so so so hard to believe. If he still had a $15M contract then I would understand, but since the Browns converted it to a signing bonus he is dirt cheap now. Why would no one claim him? And if him and his agent really threatened teams that he wouldn't show up for them, would they even adhere to that?

Just heard in Rich Eisen's show that OBJ won't clear waivers until Monday. Jared needs another option in Detroit....lol

Also Mary Cabot who is pretty good as well as Dan Patrick said OBJ maturely and quietly all off season and during this season asked for a trade never made a stink never took it public til he had had enough hence pops and LBJ. That's a Browns going to Browns thing they knew it they should have pulled the trigger when nobody really knew this was happening behind the scenes. That to me is a good sign that he kept quiet til the end. The rams may not really be interested at all who knows but if there is a shot like you, I put this thread up as a hmmm I guess but now I'd be very happy if it happened. I think he way more than replaces DJ and I really truly believe he would be on best behaviour along with the leadership for him to be one of the guys not the guy. He would have to accept that know he is trading off that he is where he always wanted to be and happy and doesn't have to go nuts to be the star cause he in LA.
Trading for him and coming off picks for a $15M salary is a lot. They definitely tried to trade him the last day of the trade deadline but had no takers. But now with a restructured contract you KNOW tons of teams will put in a waiver claim for him on Monday. So at this point, it all comes down to whether McVay/Snead and our players - AD, Von, Ramsey, etc. have given the verbal green light to bring him into our locker room. If this gets back to OBJ then him and his agent have to do some real dirty shit to make sure they clear waivers. Threatening all the teams that want to claim him. Has anyone this talented ever done that before? I mean IF he clears waivers I see us as the favorite to land him all things considered. To me I just dont see a clear path that he would actually make it through waivers with his new cheap contract. But in a world where NFL stars are starting to control their destiny more and more like the NBA... I guess its possible.

I find it extremely hard to believe he cleared waivers.
Bingo...he definitely wont. This is the part that I get stuck at. But as a few people have said, if him and his agent threaten to hold out and not report if certain teams claim him, maybe that scares them off. But I dont know if that's ever been done before. And given all the likely interest around the league, are they going to tell 25 teams to fuck off and that he wont play for them?? Just very hard to imagine.

I could see him and the agent doing that since they took a huge hit to the contract with the restructure. He's set to make like slightly above vet minimum current if claimed off waivers. If I was him and his agent, I'd almost assuredly inform teams he won't report if claimed. Unless of course he is just ring hunting, then he might just indicate to teams he will only report to a team with a SB shot. Essentially, what I get from it is he is still in control of his destination for the most part, and that came with the restructure. It helped him and the Browns in a way. Sure, a team could just say fuck it and claim him. But if he doesn't report, he doesn't lose much $.

$7.25mm and getting rid of his last two years? Yeah he's clearing waivers. Getting rid of the last two years all but guarantees no bad teams will pick him up.

Hmm, looks like teams do need cap to claim him.

Really wish the Shehawks were not on that list.

It's actually not that bad plenty of athletes have done it in different ways like no movement clause or list of teams they cannot be traded to. Some players have come out and said "I will only play for blah blah." So in essence he doesn't have to even be claimed if the rams did indeed have interest and said and did what you wrote OBJ or his agent would just have to say "my client will only play for the rams" rather than continuously block or block or go through this all over again. Now if he is making pennies you could see a team being spiteful just to block the rams like the whiners or a green bay etc. Anyway that said it's not like we are desperate for him but I'd still like it to happen lol

Well that's going to stop some teams from getting him. I hope Seattle doesn't get him, but I still think the Dolphins would swoop him up as they could try to pair him with Watson next year if they win that bidding war lol

Edit: Nevermind just saw that Miami has got shit for CAP room lol

Of course, I have no idea how I forgot that lol. Speaking of which, his time with the Texans is surely coming to an end here soon. I've never seen an NFL WR do nothing but put up 1,000 yard seasons and get traded so many times, it's almost comical at this point.
I don't think he would have left the Rams if we ALL (and i mean ALL) cringing on every throw that he wouldn't get up after another blow to the head.

He is still an awesome WR if you don't need him to fight for a 50/50 ball.

This^^^

OBJ is a premadonna. If we were to get him, I would hope for the best but for me personally, I would be a bit disgusted watching him in horns.

Besides, we have Kupp, Woods, and Van. All great receivers in their own right and willing to do everything even if their number is not called.

He's a great RECEIVER. He hasn't showed that he's a great team play

lol replacing leukemia with a brain tumor, last thing I want is him on the team with a TMZ headline investigating his Onlyfans doing scat
Perfect analogy...Well played !!!

I don't want OBJ on the Rams either. Wrote a long anti-Beckham post just yesterday (on page 3 of this thread). However, the above ... especially if I stop reading after the word 'better' is price-less.

As a New Yorker, with friends/family who are life-time Giants' fans, who experienced the Odell Beckham period with the Giants where most of their fans slowly grew frustrated with him and eventually really disliked him, the above sentence has made me laugh-out-loud several times.

" No use for OBJ (because it's better to) have Skowronek, Harris and Koski" ...wish Harris had a funny name
... it's like saying "no use for Odell Beckham because we have Mo, Larry and Curley"

Foolio says the Seahawks are OBJ's preferred destination. He's also considering S.F and the Saints.

The saints I knew would be involved as they almost had him at the deadline. The hags I don't see the reason they suck their season is over just die already. However I knew the whiners would be a threat because no rams no chargers only Cali team left is those whiners. There season is on the cusp of being over as well but they still have life.
