Well it's not a surprise that Jimmy looked fresh. He's been banging strippers postgame while Matt soaks his bruises in the ice tub for 17 weeks.

This little rest will hopefully rejuvenate 9. Also watching someone else run the offense is probably good for him, nothing like seeing that to give you that natural kick in the ass of perspective. Nothing's a given in this league.

One thing I did notice thru-out the game is that Hummell is a really good coverage line-backer.

The weakest part about Rozeboom is that he can't cover a RB or TE because he is just too slow. And Speights has trouble covering players as well.

I would replace Rozeboom or Speights with Hummell on 3rd and long.

Speights is not on the field on 3rd and long.

Seattle was playing their starters, right? Rams sure seemed to move the ball well, Garoppolo had more passing yards than any game Stafford had this year. Staff with only 2 300 yard games in 16 starts
Loved the screen game, Higs being involved etc

Karty officially sold me tonight! A kicker being confident, and the team and coaching staff trusting him, is invaluable come the playoffs.

Jordan Whittington is a dog. I said it earlier today before the game in this post - he needs more reps, he looks great every time he gets the ball, and I truly feel he is our next steal of a WR in the Kupp-Puka mold. Versatile. Physical. Team-first. Does it all. I think next year he and Kupp could both serve as strong co-WR2s, if the team is willing to allocate reps accordingly.
Only way he has a bigger role if kupp gone or they limit Kupp … whit is not a x … all Mcvay draft is the slot type recivers

The problem is Stafford is shitty at throwing screens. I don't think running them back to back to back would end well with 9 behind center. :laugh3:

We are better off protecting his ass and letting him stretch the field.

I noticed that too. Stafford seems to be stiff and tense with screens...... no idea why.

I see them using him in that FB role at times. Gives them a different look and where they can use him in the screen game, running game/ jet sweeps, blocking, and just going out for passes out of the backfield.

Need a different look. After 8 years in the league, and 17 weeks this year, you need to show something different. Especially when playing against a staff that knows your offense so well.

JG is a solid backup QB option for next year. But Good Lord NFW to $14M/year - that’s insane talk lol
They will probably let him test the market as normal and then offer him a contract if they do not get outbid. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him starting again as he is better than many of the average starters in the league. How old is he? If we see him as the bridge to a young starter we might pay more than you think depending on Stafford’s timeframe for retirement

Wow just looked it up. Thought backups got paid a lot more than that.

Several at 6 million

Jimmy G was 3 million this year.

14 mill waaaaay high! lol

However I wouldn’t mind making him the highest paid backup at all. It’s worth the insurance of having a quality starter behind Stafford.

He was wrecking the 1’s of Seattle with 2’s and 3’s.

We're 6 deep at WR. Tutu can take a hit. Whittington can run (and catch). Really hope both get.more targets going forward.

Our 2's put up 25 on their 1's. That's more than our 1's have scored in any of the previous 3 games. Why? Playcalling?
Problem is that all of our WRs are similar except for Tutu.

They are more possesion guys, run after catch types, but not take the top off of the defense type WR's. Nor are they guys who can get good separation in man to man coverage.

That is what they need to add to the offense.
