Wow just looked it up. Thought backups got paid a lot more than that.

Several at 6 million

Jimmy G was 3 million this year.

14 mill waaaaay high! lol

However I wouldn’t mind making him the highest paid backup at all. It’s worth the insurance of having a quality starter behind Stafford.

He was wrecking the 1’s of Seattle with 2’s and 3’s.
I think he signed for 3 mill because he got his guaranteed money from the Raiders. I think he'll get in the 6-10 mill range that Darnold, Mariota and Brisset comprise. He can be the bridge qb, or a reasonably priced backup for Tua in Miami. McDaniel cant have another flop season because his backup QB blows, I can see JG on a 1 year deal for 8-10 mill

Brennan Jackson made at least one nice play. Honestly, since pre-season I had not really noticed him popping with plays, so this was great to see.

Karty looking like GZ in his prime with the long boots.

How about the OL with only one starter? A few misses but got the job done fairly well. McMahon survived ok.

Ronny Rivers is probably as good as Corum for now, so we should be ok there, but sorry Blake is gone.

Whittington's play was no surprise at all - he is pretty good NOW.

Vilma said Demarcus Robinson was really coming on strong (after making his first catch in what - 3 or 4 games?). But he was good too.

Geno can count all of his earned bonuses while he sits on his couch and watches the Rams play in the playoffs.

Trying to forget bad playoff memories from the 70s against the Vikings ...

Upon further review.....I noticed that the offensive line played pretty well. Gotta admit I almost forgot that Noteboom was on the field. Much different than last week's disaster.

Also looks like Jonah Jackson, Walter McClendon and the kid who played center decent also. We threw a bunch of screens so I'm assuming these guys got out and made their blocks.

That's about enough about that.....time to go wait for little Forrest...

Fuck I’d keep him here for 8-10 mill tbh. It’s worth it.

There's no WAY Jared Goff plays for so little!

yeah, noteboom should only play left tackle and he made it through a hole game without being injured.

Problem is that all of our WRs are similar except for Tutu.

They are more possesion guys, run after catch types, but not take the top off of the defense type WR's. Nor are they guys who can get good separation in man to man coverage.

That is what they need to add to the offense.
Yes I think McVay and Snead need to figure out how to evaluate an X receiver. They have done a great job with McVay type fits, the big bodied possession types who are smart and have RAC. But the X role is a different skill set.

This is one advantage of adding Higgins in FA. It puts that off for a while then if they go get a stud TE out of this class this offense is starting to look dangerous again.

But I agree that quality of our weapons is a problem. We are pedestrian as fuck there. No defense fears our weapons, they fear us sustaining long drives. I am sure McVay is eager to get back to big play threats.

The problem is that both Warren and Loveland will almost certainly be gone by the time we pick.

Teams have seen what an effect Bowers has had and will be looking for their own version. Fannin Jr is arguably the best pure receiving TE in this year’s class but his blocking may not be good enough for what the Rams want.

I completely agree with you that Tee Higgins should be priority #1 in free agency.

As we know, McSnead has never been afraid of moving up, if necessary. They tried hard to do it last year for Bowers.

I'm just not sure that Warren or Loveland are in Bowers' class.

I don't like Higgins' injury history. I also thought he was older than he is, he only turns 26 in 2 weeks .. So I like the age, I would go after him, and maybe the injury history keeps his price tag a tad lower, but still probably a $28M a year guy.

That may not be true. Take a look at the TE position historically in where they go off the board. For a TE to go very high requires a great forty (on top of elite film production). Warren isn't going to run a great forty. Loveland probably runs a solid time for a TE but I doubt he runs a great time.

Also this position is insanely deep this year. If Warren and Loveland are off the board the Rams will be able to slide down and take a TE still. There are all manner of options. And that depth will mean teams won't be in a hurry to overdraft the top two options.

Rams will be most likely drafting around 21ish. I doubt they get past the divisional round, as they are a flawed roster. Of course McVay may overperform as usual but good chance we are picking low 20s. Which is precisely in the wheelhouse for Warren and Loveland.

Fannin now may be a guy who runs a top forty time. But even if so that just means he's the top TE off the board and you're probably talking somewhere in the teens. After all Bowers was the total package and lasted until 13. So it's just not a position that typically goes super high unless the player runs a stupidly and insanely good forty time.

Bowers would be top ten in any other draft. All of the QBs plus three great receivers, pushed him down. Bowers is a Gronk/Kelsey level problem at TE.

I don't disagree he is a top ten quality prospect. Point is look where the top TEs mostly go off the board.

Gronk went 42 overall. Kelce went third round.

In 2010 and 2013 respectively.

The NFL is constantly evolving- look how the relative status of running backs and interior linebackers has declined over the years - and there’s a chance that tight ends are going to be more valued going forward.

If Rivers was as good as Corum then why is it Corum is the one who the coaching staff chose to use as Williams main backup? Not saying Rivers isn’t good, just not as good as Corum.

A lot to like I think.
Starting upfront, Im not counting J Jackson as a "backup" as he is a starting quality G, but, the right side did very good work.
One thing that is clear.....and no, they are not the same....Noteboom is a LT only and McClendon is a RT only. Both were pretty effective.
He gave up six pressures but I did like McMahon in the running game. He got movement and played well. Considering Seattle is pretty stout upfront, even with the pressures, I think he faired pretty well in his first NFL action. Seeing him swim and not sink alleviates the need to draft a C to back up Limmer.
Bummer about Corum getting injured.
Rivers is a solid back. He knows the offense and is capable for the 5-10 snaps (or whatever) he will get in the playoffs. Most importantly, he is a solid pass blocker. I would have liked to have seen more of Schrader at RB.
Brennan Jackson flashed on a couple of plays and looks like a very stout edge. Setting the edge should be no issue, but, he seems to lack a step in speed. Overall though, he seems a good depth piece. Hummel flashed with some tackles as well.
Forbes certainly looks the part in terms of speed, rotating hips and turn and run. He tied in the lead for tackles with 5 for the game. I think we all thought, "add 20 lbs", after seeing him bounce off of guys. Pretty stoked for what he may develop into with a full offseason and camp with the Rams D. He likely will be a guy who ends up seeing the field quite a bit.
Tyler Davis and Dejuan Johnson are both good players. Interesting the Rams still generated some pressure when non of the starting DL was in there. I love the depth on the DL.
Not a back up, but, it was fantastic to see Karty hammer 57 and 58 yard FGs with apparent ease.
Having him confident is major heading into the playoffs.
Jimmy G was Jimmy G. He has always thrown a beautiful ball and can be very accurate....but, he is also good for a bad throw at the end when you need a good one. He played well considering its been over a year since he last played and he was in with backups. A good back up should the Rams choose to keep him.
It was an enjoyable game to watch and Seattle should be a bit concerned giving up 25 points to an offense with 2 starters playing.

Noteboom is exclusively a LT when it comes to T play.
McClendon is exclusively a RT when it comes to T play......after this year, that should be clear.
