McShay was just talking about Savion Williams on his post combine day show. Talks about him being a converted wild cat QB a former running back and a big return guy. Mentions he's got a great personality and wins in all interviews. Then mentions he won't ever be your best route runner. Won't ever be a guy to pick apart a zone. But if you get the ball in the guys hands magic happens. Be interesting to see what McVay thinks of him.

He's probably that "joker" type that the Broncos coach covets.

Could be but he's also a big Cordarrelle Patterson / Laviska Shenault to me.

I'm fine with Burden being one of the slowest, since he didn't drop a single pass thrown to him. Tracks with his hands; he was one of the top targeted receivers in the nation over his career (I think only McMillan was targeted more than him.) and had something crazy like an 88 percent catch rate on all of his targets.

Dart was better, but then Dart didn't put much air under the long routes

I'm high on Watkins and glad he was one of the fastest during the gauntlet drill

He's special with the ball in his hands. If you can develop him at WR, he has the potential to be a Brandon Marshall type player (who can also be a wildcat QB on the goal line). But he's extremely risky. This is one of those decisions where I'd rely on McVay and Yarber. If they think they can develop this kid, let's go get him. If not, grab a safer pick.

I think the counterpoint would be that it makes the drill easier when you run slower. Burden is interesting. I'm still not sure where I fall on him. Love the traits. Not so sure about the person.

I like that you added the context of Puka at the end. Very interesting.
 
Fastest RB group in combine history, below 4.5 avg. Williams and Corum probably would go seventh round in this group. Crazy class.

Still pissed the TEs had key guys skipping the 40 but Taylor to me still feels like the safe choice in the early group (guys I think are the typical 25 to 45 types).

Wish I could watch the QBs throw in person.

Figured Golden might go early based on size and upside vs being an outside the hash threat. But now yeah it feels likely.

Not a big fan of the early slot wideouts. Won't complain if we take one, but I think Restrepo will outperform Burden and Egbuka.

I was high on Ayomanor until this. I'm starting to really like Jayden Higgins.

Some thoughts on the Tight Ends

Up to this point, my thought was that McVay would find Fanin and Arroyo his type. Even though I had Fanin in my Mock, seeing Arroyo separate from defenders at the Senior Bowl had me favoring him.

I wasn't high on Loveland, and he & Warren will likely be off the board anyway by the time the Rams picked.

I was very impressed with Mason Taylor's field drills, although not sure what his 40 time is since he didn't run
Here are 3 other players that surprised me the most and that I think would be an upgrade over D Allen and possibly Higbee:
2) Terrance Ferguson (Oregon) 4.64/40 ; Sled drill grade 4 (1-5 is my scale; 5 being best) ; Gauntlet was smooth and one of the faster paced drills
3) Oronde Gadsen II (Syracuse) (did not run) ; Sled drill grade 3 ; Gauntlet was smooth and no drops
(Gadsen is listed on one scouting site as being timed @ 4.55 in the 40 )
4) Joshua Simon (South Carolina) 4.66/40 ; Sled drill 4 ; Gauntlet was fast with no drops

I really liked the upgrade of speed and blocking ability shown in the sled drill with these 4

Simon is an interesting player. Has received very little attention, but I liked the athleticism and YAC skills when I watched him play. Wouldn't be surprised if McVay likes his game.
 
On Ayomanor. Good 4.44/40 but he also had the slowest 10 yard split of all the WRs (1.58).
