LOOOOOOL

Yeah, calling out multibillion dollar organizations on their blatent bullcrap is never a good idea. It's always better to just let them operate as they please no matter who they freak over.

Pretty sure we're still in America.

Your right though. Maybe we should just keep passive aggressively sucking their dick no matter where the move the team, how they do it, and also stop caring how they treat the players.

Because Football.
What's the Blatant BS? This is America and this is how corporate America does things. Like it or not but the Rams organization is a corporation with a sole intent to make money and work itself into a position to be in a better position. regardless of what city the Rams play in the organization will be looking to capitalize on the situation.

So now the Scotttrade center can't compete with LA as well? Aren't there like 3 teams in Staples, vs a single hockey team? That's about as Apple's and oranges as can be.

You've completey misread what I read and made it into an attack on Scotttrade Center. Its about how a venue can help increase fan experience, even if a team is doing poorly it can attract some fans. Similarly if a place is a dump fans may opt to just save their money and stay home. Nicer venues make people open up their wallets easier. And I'm sorry, but comparing two buildings that were designed for the same function is not apples to oranges.

Scottrade has holes in the plaster in the nosebleed seats where people hide beer n crap. the club is actually pretty decent, but yeah, never hear anyone complain about it here. Same with Busch II or The Barn for that matter. Both of which smelled like vomit, beer, and feet at times. There is no such thing as a "depressing building" if the team in it is winning.

This is like the Marlins building their new stadium. Yeah, it will be a better stadium, but you still have to watch the freaking Marlins.

I've heard people complain and I don't even live there. There were issues with selling out during the playoffs, so obviously a winning team doesn't automatically mean sellouts. A nicer venue helps drive up attendance. Obviously there's only so much it can do, but it does help.

Where the heck did you hear that???? The Blues have pretty rabid fanbase. Now you are just making up BS.

It certainly looked like a shot at the Scottrade center.

A few years ago I looked at the numbers, so sorry I'm not just making up BS, I remember it vividly.

Why, because I pointed out it wasn't as nice as another venue? That's just called comparison. I'm not going to beat around the bush and pretend that a venue is just as nice as another place if it's not.

That's because we had to play the Kings and the games started at 9 on a weekday. This isn't L.A. We don't have hundreds of thousands of fairweather hipster transplants to fight over the last few seats to a 1st round playoff game at that time slot and day.

If they want to "work itself into a position to be in a better position" then maybe they should start by not being the worst team IN THE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE.

This is how one of the organizations of a shitty tax exempt multibillion dollar "non-profit" monopoly conducts business with people that made a shitty deal. The only problem is that it's the NFL, and this is the Rams so no one gives a shit. If this had any real impact on the world then people would be bitching about it, and they would be allowed to write articles discussing just how much blatant fucking bullshit it was. Like exactly what happened in the article you quoted. The one that was going to supposedly hurt their feelings so bad that they and the NFL would stay gone forever, according to you. As if any of them give a single fuck.

"Sole intent to make money." LMFAO

People buy sports teams when they have too much money, and not enough hobbies. No one buys a fucking sports team to make money, people need to start understanding this.

You don't state a year or a source...but you "remember" it vividly.......yeeeeeaaaaahh

Kings vs Blues 2013, Game 1, 2, and 5.

You may post those numbers along with the "whoops" if you'd like, or I'll do it when I get back from dinner.

I am out of this section of the forum, people are doing exactly what the MODs were scared of...taking shots and getting personal...and I am finding myself participating in it in a way that should be avoided and taking shots back. Things are getting to close to being like other boards or the mods needing to ban people here...and I am as guilty as anyone.

Yeah - calmer heads do need to prevail. I'm not sure that there are a lot of true comparisons out there for different venues. It's a little like comparing Magic to Jordon to Kobe to Dr. J.

It'd be good if we went back to discussing any new information that comes in and not try to project too much. It's a tough issue and I really can't blame fans in either market for getting upset.

Let's all just try to remain civil toward each other and keep in mind that none of us is really going to change the outcome - certainly not by flaming each other.

And BTW @drasconis - you need an avatar.

..
Regardless of wins/losses even without a win for the next 10 years do you want the Lou to lose a NFL team? Maybe to not get one back? Are you willing to risk that because of a W/L record?

The rest deleted for attitude.

Moderator's note: I'm just a few pissy comments away from locking this thread. I caution everyone to just calm down and talk like you were having a beer with your FELLOW Rams fans. I think most of us want to be able to discuss this issue but if this is the way it is going to go, we'll just give it a rest and maybe pick it back up at a later date.

Averaged 18,187 over 3 games, higher average than Boston, SJ, Anaheim, and both NY teams.....with no game on the weekend and none starting before 8 (btw standard start time in STL is 7ish)

so post that "whoops" of yours for yourself when you get back......

So? The venue holds over 19,000 how they compared to other cities means nothing. The point is that was the playoffs, so a winning team doesn't automatically mean that the place is packed. That's how it is for many cities, which is why owners want to get very nice venues that is more than just a place to park your ass and watch the game, they want the complete package. Its a lot easier to convince yourself to drive down there if you know it's a beautiful venue, with things to do down and around it.

That's why Stan wants a new stadium regardless of what happens, and that's why the Edwards Jones Dome isn't enough for him.

Kind of a dead horse by now. Let's just let this one go as I only see it being argued in circles with no real benefit to the discussion. Cool?

The thing about opposing teams in the dome is the location of the Lou. It's central to many of the locations of the visiting teams that invade it. Chicago, Green Bay, KC, Indy. Outside of those teams, who's really had a big contingent of fans inside the dome?

Steelers been known to show up in mass numbers

The average attendance for the Blues in 14-15 is 18,500.
Average for the Kings 18,300.
According to ESPN.

That's with more population and a better building so
I don't think there's a definite correlation between the building and the attendance. I think there is a definite correlation between the building and the owner ego.
