I'm really sorry to say this but I think Wade might be the liability. It's just not good defensive play calling.

Our D couldn't stop the run last week; this week it's the pass. Safeties are nonexistent tonight and last several games, and with exception of one spectacular sack, we have no pass rush to speak of. I could see a big overhaul of our D this offseason, but we already spent some draft capital on this mess we have now. This last overhaul didn't do much, trending the wrong way.
I want to see Goff play huge in the 2nd, take a game over. That's the next progression to get to elite level. Plus, be nice if we could run some. Helps keep that KC O on the sideline.

I actually give Phillips a little credit. He refuses to give in and blitz. I think he has an idea what to do and is just trying to figure out exactly what.
As for McVay I have zero problem with the play calling. They can not run the ball so just pass.

Maybe in the off season. Doubt it happens before then. And maybe not even in the off season.
Both him and Johnson need to hear that. Both are playing stupid football because they're overplaying the QB.

I just can't figure out what our safeties are doing in Pass coverage. They are no where near a receiver.
Yeah I've been saying Wade lacks the players for his scheme and he does... and the Chiefs offense makes a lot of teams look bad...
But I'm seeing things schematically and structure wise that are lacking in creativity - that don't match the creativity of the offenses they are playing against.
For one Hill should be double covered on every play...
Right now we aren't taking away ANYTHING - all their options are there. That's horrible strategy.
Hopefully we come up with some adjustments for the 2nd half.

Honestly, there's nothing we can do on D. Wade is doing what I hoped he would. It's simply not working. The only thing I can think of doing is using the punt-gunner coverage on Hill to tie him up at the LOS. Put Joyner and Shields on him. It's not like Joyner is doing jack crap in zone coverage.
On my, Joyner, he's so bad ... he's not gonna get paid.

Isn't that the truth. Every play, BOTH of them are frozen in the middle, not reacting to anything until too late.
Tie score. But, overall I say the Rams were the better 1st Half team. Chiefs are in deep shit next 30 minutes!
