watched his presser... one thing is for sure - he certainly looks at least on the fence.

Makes me wonder what is going on.

Maybe it hinges on Stafford.
Idk, either.
yeah.... they asked him about stafford and Donald and he said that will all be clear sooner than later...

which I wasn't sure how to take.

I only remember Stafford saying pretty succinctly that he wasn't retiring.

also want to add that the title of this thread is a bit misleading.

He has not made it clear that he is staying with the rams.

People are talking about McVay being burned out.
Ok...but at 36?

I look at all these coaches that have been in the league for decades...grinding it out every year.

This shouldn't even be a conversation.

Didn't Stafford already say he's coming back?
he did... but when they asked McVay about that in the presser. He said "that will all be clarified soon"

Which made me shudder a little bit... not sure if he didn't want to speak for Stafford or if there was more too it.

I think if he does leave this team.

He will regret it immediately.

Yes, but McVay said this is where he wants to be as well.

I think he's coming back.
He didnt really say that doger...

He basically said for this last game he is focused - but they asked him if he was coaching this team next year after the game and he basically said

TBD

THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^

Saw someone share about how tough it is to be an NFL coach and how much it costs them.

PLEASE!!!!

Success never comes easy. Look at the tenure of the current NFL coaches who have experienced some success as McVay.

To be honest at this point I wish he would pull the bandaid and leave so we can move on from this uncertain discussion. It is unhealthy for the team.

If that retires other Rams players so be it. They are not 100% in the game which is disgusting to me.

Sooner the better.

The report, before tonight, said that this is where he wants to be.

But as we all know, he could have meant, literally, right now. Not tomorrow.

Yeah He never said he was "staying with the rams" as the title of this thread indicates.

He said he was focused "right now"

If you read what he says is very short term and makes no mention of next year.

"staying with the rams" was he "staying with the rams" for one game?

In his press conference he was very non-commital about anything.

Just as the reports were indicating.

I am sure he's been told there are big offers incoming from TV type deals. I expect Amazon will throw money at him again and hope it sticks.

That said I am not as worried about this as I was some months back. I don't think he's gonna run out on us now, but if he does I don't know that I blame him.

My question is, does he really want his walk-away season to be the most losses for a defending Super Bowl champ ever? I would think, being the competitive person he is, he'd want to run it back with Stafford, Donald, and try to go out a winner (even if that involves us losing in the playoffs).
