Just as long as the above isn’t blaming the defense. This last Buc’s game sucked as well as that Hags(NO’s) game.
Right now though looking back is only going to help for in the long run.I think it’s building character as well.
We can all look at it in different ways. The Akers fumbling & walking away from the team is frustrating.
—Having Mayfield really helps Mcvay get back to X & O’s.It also allows players to just concentrate on there assignments because Baker will handle his own & keep The Rams WR focused(honest).
Defense played well that game - only so many times they can keep Brady out of the end zone when giving the Bucs the ball around the Rams 30 yard line several times during the second half

Noteboom might be more of a known than Jackson. When you are over 6-5 320 plus pounds OL'er full recovery from a torn Achilles that required surgery in September of 2022 is one very big mountain to climb. Noteboom has always had very slim lower legs. The Rams certainly will need to find some stop-gap LT's to be available until this mess gets cleared up.

AJ Arcuri who is under contract has many starts @ LT in college plus he has started 1 NFL game & taken many practice snaps @ LT his rookie season. However, Arcuri is not LT material. That's just one reason I have been posting on signing a true LT in Ty Nsekhe for a long time. They could use RT Max Pircher as defensive fodder meat in practice too.

Snead might end up with NINE 3rd day draft selections when the compensatory draft awards plus the 5 he has now, in over 4 months from now. He should just draft a couple of pure LT & get them in here with Ty Nsekhe to soften the blow of not having Noteboom & Jackson in the 2023 training Camp.

On Max Pircher, Some of the ROD members who attended TC the last 2 yrs might have some personal input who what they have seen.

I have no idea what the situation is with this International Player Pathway Program. OT Max Pircher from Italy. MP signed with the Rams on May 4th, 2021. MP has spent two seasons with the Rams on the Practice Squad. I know he is the lowest-paid Ram player. MP is considered an RT prospect.

The Rams added offensive tackle Max Pircher to their 90-man roster via the International Player Pathway Program. Pircher's professional football journey began with the Swarco Raiders in Austria, after attending one of their games. He experimented at tight end and defensive end before settling on the offensive line and was later named the starting right tackle for the Swarco Raiders during the 2019 season. He also played on the Italian National Team (Blue Team).

MAX is basically Done!! IMO he doesn’t fit in & hasn’t improved that much from year to year.Thought he would have gotten a lot better.

The LT spot is a hard call, you can’t do it all.Having a game plan though like your suggesting is a good start once we see how the deck is stacked.

Have you seen him at all during the season - he may have learned to play in the practice squad

I was so pissed in the second half. We were basically saying here Bucs - take the ball and go into the end zone to tie this game up. We will just hand the ball right to you.

A Kupp fumble
A bad hike
An Akers fumble

What more could happen

And then the pass
Yeah you guys fumbling at the goal line just before halftime I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach that it would comeback to bite the Rams. Thankfully they won.

The timeline of his injury and return is a factor too.
If he isn't back until, say, October in terms of getting into real football contact, cutting and a game day workload.....well....he may well be replaced at that point anyway. Bad break for the guy.
For sure a bad break and that's just one of the many reasons I don't think they risk it. Jackson maybe but I feel they will have a plan in place to get someone there to make sure as best they can this does not repeat next year.

Let's hope that McVay will begin the 2023 season with more than the 8 MR53 OL'er he started this season with.

The void left by Whitworth & Corbin was much more massive than any of us could imagine.

At some point, this Org. will need to seriously increase the talent level in this OL if they want our aging worn-down damaged QB to earn his extra large contract.

It seems highly unlikely they will be able to do it anytime soon.
LT is the question now.
If Noteboom played as he did in his time playing in the playoffs the OL would have enough talent to succeed. I don't see a big drop off from Corbin to Shelton.
A midlevel price FA G seems the best option to upgrade the talent at G to replace Edwards.
Thats about the only place I could see them adding immediate help.

Seumalo and Jenkins look like the best FA guards but both should be in line for big pay-days.

After that, it's Dalton Risner and a 35-year-old Rodger Saffold.

Yeah, FA is always tough.
Risner will probably cost in the $10M a year range, maybe more. Saffold would be cheaper, $5-7M I would guess but 35 and his injury history is sort of scary.

If Risner is that expensive, I would not be interested at all. Really liked him coming-out but I didn't think he's been that good. However, I don't watch enough Broncos' football to have an informed opinion.

Noteboom did not finish but 5 games in 2022 season before the IR. I would agree with you that Shelton is now playing as well as Corbett did @ RG.

JN was held out of all the preseason games this season. Gm. 1 against the Bills JN injured his knee (MCL) again the same knee he has reconstructive surgery on in early Sept 2019.

JN was solid in the run game (73.3 run blocking grade), but struggled in pass protection (44.7). PFF.
So 1 wk into the 2022 season & JN is hurt. JN was questionable going into gm #2 Atlanta game. That was the last time JN was mentioned on the injury list until the 6th gm when he tore his Achilles & placed on the IR.

From what I can find JN's wk# PFF grade 77.2. JN was the Rams’ highest-graded pass blocker along the line against the Cards. His 6 game 2022 overall PFF grade was a respectful 67.

Might want to recall he was also injured & sent packing to the Injured Reserve when the Rams got to the 2021 Championship SB game. JN only started 2 games in the 2021 regular season. Later JN was injured again along with Whitworth, Rookie Jackson has to take JN's starting post in the Vikings game. I agree that JN is highly talented when on the field. The problem is he does not remain there often since 2019.

If I were to guess at this time about the 2023 starting OG's......Good chance again that both Shelton & Bruss will be fighting it out to start @ RG. I would expect Chandler Brewer & Matt Skura to be resigned. Thus Anchrum/ Brewer & Skura fight it out as to which one will start.

Don’t know how we got here with you. BTW - Packers suck!!
-I’m actually excited about this Monday Night’s game. The scheduling of it is PERFECT for both these teams.
-It’s actually a 3 fold or 2 or 4? Stafford & Baker,Rogers & Love. Was actually thinking Rogers might go to SF next season? This Purdy kid will be interesting to see how far he goes.Jalen Hurts I had circled as a QB for The Rams.Had AJ Dillion circled as well.Hurts next pick after Akers.Dillion a couple picks after Jefferson. Wanted to trade up for J.Taylor & he fell far enough that those 2 picks would have gotten him.
—-Still think if 9ers didn’t make such a DUMB trade early they would have had Rogers & the Packers were stuck with Love. How good would Adams look in a Packers Uni still with draft picks though.
-Thought OBJ was going to go to the Packers. You can look at all my past post. Now with Baker & Packers out of it ??(are they?).Could be a good addition still. What’s Rogers health?

Both teams are where they are.Bug game for The Rams, because it will show character & us Ram Fans in here an idea of the future with positive energy going in,PLUS 11 days for The Team 2 Jive.

Packers is where are they as a team? From your post I will question it.Then again how did they get so bad in DEFENSE? I bet you would Love Morris. That sounds like a fit.HC Matt’s EGO EGGO is 2 BIG though!

Was kissed Brady beat the Pack 2 years ago,but glad The 9ers beat The Pack to keep things at SOFI.

Whose House Stan? Would have mad money either way.Chargers might make a run?

Funny just looked Corbett up & he is starting still 100%. Saffold as well. Then I looked up Austin Blythe as well. You know all hindsite, but all those players helped The Rams make it to Superbowls.
The Rams never reinvested in there O’Line except that sweetheart deal with Big Whitworth who was 1 of The Greatest Rams of ALL TIME!

I would say good question, but feel it is a little loaded . Answer is NO!!

My view on things is my PHYCO!! Saw when he came out late after practice & he got Shunned.
—I see him on the sideline & he looks lost. The Main Take was how he looked during the preseason.

We can Rod-Wager on Max & if he ever makes it in The NFL.I look forward to seeing this kid from San Jose State works out as a NFL(USFL) with his future.Wonder how this NEW league ends up for future NFL players?

My guess is Max is done as a Ram? The bigger question is if AJ Arcuri or Anchrum as 7th rd picks ever make it? Then UDRFA AJ Jackson’s future & health is.

There will likely be another G drafted or signed to compete as well.
