Which players have McSnead moved on from who weren't free agents ? Which players were traded that didn't bring back some value or CAP relief ?
I don't believe Noteboom is necessarily the Rams long term answer at LT, even less so as a future LG prospect, but the Rams should try to rehabilitate his trade value before unnecessarily unloading him for little to no return. The Rams may or may not be playing from a position of strength at LT next season, but with reserves such as Jackson, Nsekhe, a likely 2023 mid or late round OT draft pick and last years developmental OT in A.J. Arcuri, I'm not going to sweat our near-term ability to function with reasonable success at this position. I also hold McVay partially responsible for not employing a much better blocking TE who can chip opposing Edge rushers in support of our OT's.
I believe drafting a top LG/Center will bring a higher level of OL improvement for 2023 should the team avoid addressing the OL with an expensive free agent, and considering our CAP situation and other needs at Edge, RB, TE, DT, S & CB, I'm not seeing the Rams as big OL spenders during free agency next year. Edwards will be gone in free agency and we currently have no obvious starting LG, drafting an OG/Center helps settle two future needs now. jmo.
