There will likely be another G drafted or signed to compete as well.
Just added how many OG & OG/OC's the Rams have on their salary now: 11 (eleven)

Evans MR53 Swing Reserve
Shelton MR53 starter
Skura MR53 starter
Aboushi MR53 Reserve
Brewer IR
Cole Toner PS former starter for played in 14 gms started 4 Texans/Chargers
Kolone PS
Bruss IR
Anchrum IR
Edwards IR
Zac Thomas MR53 reserve/ played in 3 Ram gms

No team in the NFL has more OG/OC's on their Master salary cap roster. A large number of veteran starter IOL'ers are at their disposal if they want any of them back for 2023. Since all of them are Rams, returning any of these UFA OG's will not hurt their Compensatory Awards Selections. This is big thing to remember

Good chance some of these IOL'ers have caught the coach's eye to develop or utilize as a stop-gap OG until Bruss or another youngers gets a clue. With many OG's with many NFL starts at low economy priced salary, the Rams might just pick the best of the bunch & see how it turns out. They have some options

Baker can make all of the throws. He throws very well on the move and has enough running ability to make plays with his legs. Looks like he is willing to put the work in on studying the game/play calls/defenses. He is very competitive. All traits McVay looks for in a QB.

The Rams need to figure out how to keep him. Stafford's health is in question and there is no answer on the Rams roster. Good QBs are hard to find even with high draft picks which the Rams don't have.
Did just all of a sudden in just one game we saw 3 of our young drafted wideouts (Van Jefferson, Ben Skowronek & TuTu Atwell) decide to start to make great catches & plays?

Rams have invested draft capital in these 3 in the 2020/2021 drafts & in one game:bomb::blub::fistbump1:.

I think the Los Angeles Rams is exactly where Baker Mayfield wanted to end up.
I like the way he fired up his teammates, both on the sideline, and in the huddle is part of the reason they were able to block for him and make those contested catches.

Meanwhile the Raiders thought they'd scored enough points to win and were mistakenly a little bit in cruise control mode.

I think Mayfield finally has that consistent fire in his belly and I can't wait to see him play this next game.

I think the entire Rams organization, from coaches to the players on the field are ready to give 100% these last few games.

I would agree!

How much is that worth to a demoralized broken down hurting team?
Priceless.

You could even see it in the game against Seattle where they gave Seattle everything they could handle.

The Rams are a very prideful team with no quit in them.

Don’t know how we got here with you. BTW - Packers suck!!
-I’m actually excited about this Monday Night’s game. The scheduling of it is PERFECT for both these teams.
-It’s actually a 3 fold or 2 or 4? Stafford & Baker,Rogers & Love. Was actually thinking Rogers might go to SF next season? This Purdy kid will be interesting to see how far he goes.Jalen Hurts I had circled as a QB for The Rams.Had AJ Dillion circled as well.Hurts next pick after Akers.Dillion a couple picks after Jefferson. Wanted to trade up for J.Taylor & he fell far enough that those 2 picks would have gotten him.
—-Still think if 9ers didn’t make such a DUMB trade early they would have had Rogers & the Packers were stuck with Love. How good would Adams look in a Packers Uni still with draft picks though.
-Thought OBJ was going to go to the Packers. You can look at all my past post. Now with Baker & Packers out of it ??(are they?).Could be a good addition still. What’s Rogers health?

Both teams are where they are.Bug game for The Rams, because it will show character & us Ram Fans in here an idea of the future with positive energy going in,PLUS 11 days for The Team 2 Jive.

Packers is where are they as a team? From your post I will question it.Then again how did they get so bad in DEFENSE? I bet you would Love Morris. That sounds like a fit.HC Matt’s EGO EGGO is 2 BIG though!

Was kissed Brady beat the Pack 2 years ago,but glad The 9ers beat The Pack to keep things at SOFI.

Whose House Stan? Would have mad money either way.Chargers might make a run?
I honestly don’t see us being back in the playoffs for a long time. That’s my prediction. This team is rebuilding.

The same could be said about our Rams. Fairly old QB with a lot of miles on him, lack of stars on offense, O-line injuries, defense that is inconsistent... not sure about Green Bay, but the Rams have some problems, not the least is that the O-line needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and they don't have a lot of high draft picks.

If Stafford and Kupp come back healthy you guys will make another run at it. My Packers on the other hand will be bad. Rodgers is just not a playoff QB at all, more of a choke artist. It’s time to go with Love.

The only thing that could make me feel this pessimistic would revolve around the health status of both Noteboom & Jackson. Should the Rams require the services of yet another starting LT, then a weak & needy position elsewhere will be neglected. I won't concede defeat at LT until better informed by the team.
As for the remainder of our OL, unless the above becomes an issue, I see this unit going forward in pretty good fashion with no need for a 're-build'. Needing a new starting LG to replace Edwards is obvious enough, but Allen/Shelton can adequately hold us down at Center, ... Bruss is our likely future starter at RG & Anchrum/Brewer/Shelton can back-up at both OG positions. RT is settled with Havenstein and Arcuri/Pircher can battle for the back-up role. There's a good chance that both Aboushi & Skura will return to the Practice Squad, and with possibly 10 2023 draft picks to look forward to, you can expect at least a couple of new names being added to the OL scrum. jmo.

Ram OL does NOT need to be rebuilt from ground up.

Two upgrades, max. And stay healthy for a change.

I think this crew could get it done with 2 significant upgrades. I don’t even think it matters where across the line they’re inserted (since a stud LT is unlikely to be found).

This might be the way the Rams could approach this off-season with the very large UNknown revolving around the two starting LTs.

Snead could forsake the LT major issues in the draft on day two & move to power up the 3 interior positions with better stronger solid UNdamaged talent. The talent pool in these interior OL positions stands a good chance to offer up some rookie nuggets.

Coach Carberry has a boatload of diverse interior OL'ers under Ram contract presently. Many damaged, injured, unknown & well-traveled journeymen types. But he has got to know which ones are worthy of keeping around in 2023 that fit the McVay Blocking scheme. This is a plus!

No way of controlling the injury issues of the OL during the season, but ensuring you go into the season with a large healthy OL unit really helps. Rams in 2022 went in very light in numbers with unproven starting talent.

I would beef up that interior knowing the two LT roster positions might be end up mighty troublesome.

Didn’t he win a Superbowl for the Packers?

Love is garbage. If they had any inkling he could play they would dumped Rodgers. At the very least they could have traded him if anyone thought he was worth a mid round pick.

dieterbrock,
heh....I read your first sentence "Love is garbage" and thought you were referring to a Bon Jovi song or something.
Guess not, huh?

I would not bring back Evans, Aboushi, Kolone or Edwards.
Shelton has RG sewn up one would assume.
Brewer, Toner, Bruss, Anchrum, Thomas to battle for the LG spot. As I said, Id add a FA (maybe) and certainly a draft pick. Depending on how it goes Aboushi could be brought back to the PS.
Skura Im resigning as back up depth across the interior but in particular back up C.
Lets say a FA is signed to play LG.
FA at LG, Shelton at RG. Backups at G being Bruss and Anchrum.
Allen and Skura at C.
By keeping Skura you have a solid vet depth guy with a lot of experience that can play all three interior spots. Most importably C. This really gives the Rams three deep at C with Shelton able to slide over if Allen gets hurt again....however the coaches best decide to cover the position.
The best of Brewer, Toner, Thomas and a draft pick head to the PS. Maybe you keep two interior guys, maybe three. Or maybe the draft pick does well and replaces an Anchrum at back up G on the 53.
You see what Im saying.....time to move on from Evans, Kolone and Edwards in my humble opinion.
The back end competition should be fierce this offseason with the Rams looking under rocks for talent. A guy like Leatherwood, much maligned and run out of Vegas after a year or two....still, guy was rated at a first round talent by most. I saw a handful of his games....solid in some situations and bad in others. Really up and down. I don't know how that works in terms of being a first round pick that is still under his first deal money wise. Really an ideal guy to stash and try to develop on the PS if the money isn't big. If he starts to develop his well of athletic ability he can be moved off the PS to protect him.
Necessity has caused the Rams to bring in guys (Aboushi, Skura, Toner, Ty) with starting experience in the league. I think this is a very valuable thing. Kolone, Anchrum and Jackson were all green as could be. They were thrown to the wolves really.

The Packers have had back to back HOF QBs.
They have had HOF QB play from 1992-2022....30 Fing years in a row.
I enjoy your posts here but I think you and probably most Packer fans have forgotten what it is like having a below average QB......for year and year.
I wouldn't go chasing Rodgers out of town.
