I’m thinking of how the Patriots kept Brady happy enough to always be underpaid. Kraft had to have been greasing the wheels out of sight, out of mind. Do you think Kroenke could be krafty like that? Hmmmm
Helps he had a rich wife, but I get what you mean.

Kind of makes me have some resentment towards him if traded.

I don't like him, but to say he is done, he had 28 tds and 11 ints playing with a weak offensive roster. Stafford was 20-8, with a better staff and supporting cast once they got healthy in week 6.
Think I watched all of two Jets games this past year, maybe three. Wasn't impressed, plus the age... I don't think that's good enough for McVay, who has the very highest of expectations from his QB.

If we bring him in, then it would have to be cheap I'd imagine, as we would be eating a massive cap hit for Stafford's trade and the Rams have already said they don't want to spread a cap hit into the future with an old QB. Seems unlikely, unless Rodgers is thinking title run and takes a discount.

What I would expect is Jimmy gets signed away, because in combo he has the touch of the leprechaun upon him and also because he doesn't fit the field stretcher McVay prefers. I mean how many screens did we run in that one game. McVay already said he doesn't want to live that way. So the best fit for knowing the offense to perform the bridge role is Cousins. Now most will get all crazy about the mention of Cousins but he and McVay know each other well, and after failing with Atlanta if Cousins realizes he's a bridge dude now then it should be an easier transition for him.

Btw I realize Cousins is similar to Jimmy in his lack of field stretching ability. But I think he will be cheaper than Jimmy basically, as he's got the stench of fail on him. We'll see though.

This Off season Sucks! We are prob losing our two most popular players on our team! We know how that went with the Giants! @rapsheet is right, we are giving up on our QB and WR who got us a SB. Its a slap in the face for a few dollars thats not gonna do shit for us anyway. I dont see a QB replacing Stafford to get us to a SB in next 4 years even. Win now and Pay them. Eagles are deferring everyone on thier team to keep whoever they can reguardless of thier Cap, why cant we? Our window is now, not in 26 like first thought.

I can see this turning into a Nightmare situation at trade deadline Mid season. 49ers somehow get Stafford and Kupp for a SB for them for Revenge and win in thier stadium or worse ours next yr!

Their 2nd round pick and a 3rd next year that can become a 2nd.
Screw that, 2nd this year and 2nd next that can become a 1st. Need a 1st if we're moving on from him and eating all that dead money. If it becomes a 1st next year it'll be because the Giants did good (made playoffs or personal stat success whatever) so would be a late 1st anyway. So basically it'd be an early 2nd or a late 1st. We need trade ammo next year for a QB.

Dude - chill, if you read the above post it gives you an idea on how The Rams are playing this.

First off your post is way off on any comparison & then your BLUE FONT is coming from a Haters point of view & not funny unless it’s Jimmy G beating The Niners & Rams winning the Superbowl.

IMO the window is just opening up.The Rams have such an excellent foundation right now.

The Rams need Aaron Rogers value.Stafford is everything to the rams. There is no Love taking his place for the rans.

Then again Staffords window is closing fast.

Man, I really thought the talk of Stafford demanding he be paid top dollar was overblown and exaggerated. Now it doesn't seem like it. Its possible we're looking at a different quarterback this season.

At least this isn't the 49er situation with Deebo and Aiyuk where some really negative things were said all offseason. Both sides are keeping mum at this point.

Both Stafford and Rams have to know they need each other. Stafford's not gonna compete for a playoff spot with the Giants or Raiders. Rams probably are not Superbowl contenders with someone else.

But if Stafford is just all about the money at this point of his career then its probably best to peel off that scab now. Get the best deal you can for him. Sign a lower cost guy like Jimmy G. Back him up with someone like Fields. Go as far as you can with them and start looking for your future quarterback the next couple years. If Jimmy G. can take the 49ers to the playoffs and win a couple he can certainly win 10 games with the Rams.

Not nothing, just a lot of angst
If Rodgers was our starting QB, I might take the year off.
I put up with Roger Clemens on the Yankees. You can deal with Rodgers on the Rams

And there it is. Stafford can do more to save Shoen’s and Daboll’s job than 7 draft picks. Now the Rams need to play hard ball and get them to trade the Rams what they want. How much is their jobs worth to them?

I’d push for a second this year and first next year, otherwise the Rams would be happy to keep Stafford.

Ok, it just dawned on me. I know why last year and this year Stafford is more adamant about the money than earlier years. He's got 4 kids. All girls. In the next 10 to 20 years you know how much thats gonna cost him? :wow2:

Everyone talks about how much girls cost but no one talks about how much boys eat. I think it's a wash.

I love how im always an Instant HATER when I defend that Kupp and Stafford Leave is stupid and is going to Bite us in the ASS!

Its not way off on comparison! Kupp is our Saquon in terms of Popularity and our Star, Stafford was Right there behind Kupp in Popularity . Kupp is still a #1 or High 2 on 90% of the teams. Puka is Good as he is because how Kupp molded him and him being on the field with him helped a lot .Mcvay is the coach he is because of Kupp. Kupp and Stafford would turn the Giants or Raiders into major contenders alone!

Ive seen this play out before over the years of building a team that are strong and we traded away our Stars for Salary cap or got tired of them and used bridge players. Didnt work out well for us! We fell into 1-6 wins territory for YEARS! We were 1 Fucking Play from NFC championship and they want to Gut it. Its STUPID!

The foundation is there but Kupp is the Morale Piece and hes the glue for this team. Stafford is the Best Qb for this to work for the next few years.

JimmyG will not get it done, and neither will A-rod. They both had really Talented team in 9ers and GB respectively and still couldnt do it.
