Meanwhile Brad in Detroit (if true)...

Ps... that report by Gottlieb doesn't sound right to me that's not Goff. I don't think. Just hard for me to believe he wouldn't work hard.

Overthinking it I am I know but the "perfect mystery" comment was out of nowhere almost makes you think he thought there was a chance lol.

This is Les Snead we're talking about...

With him, there's always a chance...

It probably had to do with the 3 year limit on futures trades. Rams can't trade a first rounder this year so only had 2 they could offer. And obviously that's not enough for Watson.

Agreed. And honestly I get the anger. I think there's a bias out there against Stafford, a kind of block in people's minds, that is similar to the block that people had with Goff which we have complained about for years. I had it too, the guy I had in my mind is completely different from the real guy on tape who was one of few bright spots on a poor roster in Detroit. After the trade I watched some of his film across some 2020 games and was so excited afterward that I couldn't sleep. Still slept like shit last night too.

Lot of the same people who are so angry would be over this shit already if it was Watson. But the issue here is moving Goff for a guy who is relatively close to him, and by that I mean they are statistically in the same group. Problem is the Goff that people have in their heads is not the Goff who just got traded. Now maybe he gets back to that and I think Jrry and others could end up being right. But either way his window here timed out, we all got different feels for why that happened, but it happened and we're gonna move on and watch Stafford slay it in this offense.

Without a doubt. People doubling and tripling down in defense of a guy who is a shadow of his two year ago self. Then they see the reality and can't process it.

It's gonna take more time. But not gonna lie I'm feeling right now like we're seeing an extended tantrum and it's tiring.

I didn't realize there was a 3 year limit on future trades...

That explains a LOT... and makes the "Watson can only go to Jets/Miami" stuff more reasonable.

The Rams' "window" has been open since the start of 2017 with no signs of closing even before this trade was made. Check the calendar. It's 2021.

Media heads and armchair fans around the league are having a really hard time wrapping their heads around this. The Rams have a system in place where there once was none for so long. Finally. Owner, front office, GM, scouting dept, HC, asst coaches. This team is loaded with young talent despite no 1st rd picks since 2015.

The wheels don't fall off when shit goes wrong or bad luck happens or when mistakes are made. Four straight winning seasons and playoff wins. It's glorious.
And that is in spite of some very, VERY bad contracts. If Snead can unfuck himself in that department, well... Look out!!

I disagree. Although, it was a horrible pass, we could have easily gone on to the superbowl.

As I have stated many times - we were a dropped Reynolds pass from going on to possibly tie the game against Green Bay and possibly winning that game.

We would have had the momentum if he caught that pass.

Then Tampa Bay - I think Donald would have been healthier for that game and we would beat Brady. 3 interceptions against Green Bay?

you are correct, momentum impacts the game.

my QB just threw the ball away on a dead play and it was .....picked?

Wow... even if that's not universally true, but still true just for some players/ FO/coaches... that's huge.

And we saw an instance of that when Wolford fought for that 1st down. The team jumped like they won a playoff game...

Just...wow.

That also explains the exasperation of McVay...

And going forward, I bet McVay only has good things to say about Goff and will focus on moving forward... but that's just... wow.

Means it was way worse than many of us thought...

On some drafts in the past I’ve read GMs say they only had 15 players with first round grades. iirc One year Snead said he only had 10 players with first round grades.
I’d be interested in reading the things you just referenced can you share?

I guess but I just don’t buy all of that personally. If it’s true I would wonder to myself how they didn’t see any of this coming before signing him to that massive extension. Just seems like an unnecessary shot at the guy but maybe things really did get that bad between the two sides.
I don't say that it is all true - because no one on this board really knows but money changes many people. Could be that this new lifestyle and being set for his life might got to his head.
