I prefer buffalo dogs. Had one at a pow wow and I was blown away. NO condiments, just meat and bun... was fantastic. Also had some fry bread which knocked my socks off.

Great... now I wanna go pig out at a pow wow...
Buffalo dogs?

I've never heard of or had one....but I want one

I don't want to insult McVay. I can respect that he made the call he felt was best at QB. I still can't wrap my head around it or agree with it. And I absolutely hate the way they went about it. But I don't harbor ill will towards him. The simple truth for me is that I hate the way this organization has conducted itself for well over a decade under certain circumstances. The way it dumped Kurt nearly caused me to quit being a Rams fan. And then I watched the shameful way it jettisoned Ike and disrespected St. Louis on the way out. Doing this to Jared the way they did it feels like Kurt all over again. And let's be honest, they didn't handle the Gurley situation well either. I just don't know, man. I just don't know.

I just think people are bringing too much baggage into this to get their heads around it. This stuff isn't just limited to the Rams. Difference with other teams is they don't tend to creatively escape from their mistakes and turn them into cap hits that they kick down the road.

That said the whole Rams' model is in question here and will be until this trade settles in. And will remain so until years from now when we can look back and see if they took it too far like the 9ers back in the 90s.

But for now this team is better. So much better to simply enjoy it don't you think?

It seems like there should be a better way, right?

The love for this team is a big part of my life. As well as many in here.

Looking deeper.
Doesn't every organization struggle with the same issues of balancing player, fan and cap balance?

I always expect full transparency in life.
But even I can be called a hypocrite because of the way I have to run my business side of life.
There are business decisions that don't always mesh with sensitivity.

You are an attorney, correct?
Knowing what you know, an employer has to protect the companies best interest at times. Which is the far opposite of transparency.

As fans, we see the Rams as a past time. A very large past time for most of us here.
For management. It's win or look for a new job.

After having a day to adjust to the shock of this move. I just can't believe that the management would make a decision to intentionally bury us.

I highly doubt we are done making moves.
There may even be another painful cut coming soon.

However. We have learned that Snead usually has a plan...and we have scratched our heads numerous times wondering what the hell he's doing.
In the end we always end up surprised.
Whether it be Watkins, Cook or Ramsey..
There is always an end game that most of us never saw coming.

It may be frustrating to have to watch Snead play his move, piece by piece. As we wait..week after week.
His end game has, to this point, been better than any Rams fan has seen in years.

We may not have Goff, but we still have a very good QB in Stafford.

I'm just discovering this and I'm in shock.
I'm gonna say McVay and Snead know a million times more than I do, they have access to information I don't have access to. But damn they might have set this franchise back for years.

My problem is Stafford has a terrible record, he doesn't win much, doesn't win playoff games on the rare occasion he gets there. He's been there 12 years. He's talented, but I don't believe he can get us to the SB. I feel bad about this.

They legit may have asked for AD. Wouldn't surprise me... I'm sure they plan to extract all the blood AND the marrow from the team they trade Watson to...
It's a very real possibility, that Watson may not even step on the field next season.

I just don't see where communicating with Jared hurts the team. They don't have to tell him everything, but they could at least tell him that they're planning to trade him and currently working on finding a deal. I get that they implied that to the media, but you would think they'd at least communicate that to their QB.

I agree.
Sincerely.

I doubt that management is happy with the way this played out.
Sure, they got what they wanted, but I highly doubt they were certain that a deal could be done.

We watched the interviews. Both from Snead and McVay. From game days to days later.
There was clear disconnect from what is usually an absolute plan.
There were obvious signs that something was trying to be done behind closed doors.

I'm sure Goff and his agent knew what was going on as well.
How couldn't they?

Oh don’t get me wrong ...I’d rather have an asshole head coach and win than a nice guy than lose ..for me mcvay has put a target on his back with this trade

I mean anything less than a super bowl win and it’s not worth it .. a playoff place an nfcgc is not going to cut it .. because we did all that with goff

I like mcvay and I hope he is a long time ... but like you I dunno this whole situation has been handled pretty bad IMO

I mean, whichever way you slice it, the Rams have been making some...umm...interesting decisions for quite some time now...

We have handed out a plethora of big contracts...only to regret them within a short timeframe

We spend sizeable capital trading for players that are gone in the blink of an eye

We have traded away our 1st rounders like no team I can ever recall

We spent a billion dollars locking-up our young QB who took us to a SB...and then we all watched as our fabled HC and Goffs relationship went from bad to worse in hyper-speed. McVay started to not trust him, Goff looked like he had PTSD, and the offense resembled molasses moving down the field

We then trade our beleaguered billion dollar QB to the Lions for their 33 year old QB, that has never won a playoff game

Certainly makes for interesting viewing!

I get this is a Rams board. Goff is no longer a Ram. But man, the rationalizations, especially from very intelligent people, to now absolve McVay of all the offense's shortcomings and blame Goff is just disappointing. McVay got schooled by Belichick as badly as Goff did. Don't now decide that it was actually all Goff's fault. :cautious:

Who's saying that?

None of it was all Goff's fault.

And... Goff had structural issues apart from scheme that defenses keyed on.

Were they exacerbated by losing Saffold and Sullivan? No doubt.

Was the drastic downturn of Gurley a big part? Assuredly.

But I posit this. McVay also struggled to put Goff in the best position when Goff was both inconsistent and not processing quickly. And again, we don't know if there were other issues like alleged partying and/or punching the clock which would have driven a workaholic like McVay up the wall.

So ABSOLUTELY McVay bears a bunch of responsibility.

But we can't just sit here and say, "Well if everyone else was perfect, Goff woulda been fine" because that's never how life works ever.

We're all trying to tap dance in an earthquake and at the pro level, it's being expected to be Gregory Hines giving the best performance of his life during a 9.0... this year dialed it up to a 9.2...

Here's my question: What extra was Goff doing to take the mantle of leader and run the offense? He wasn't spending extra time with receivers. That was Wolford. There's zero indication that he was grinding tape to better understand what defenses were doing. That was Wolford. AD never told a story of having to kick Goff out of a film room or even that he was a "first in the building" kind of guy.

My point isn't to tear down Goff, but if everyone is supposed to share responsibility, then let's do that.

Where's Goff's responsibility in all this? Ya can't just site stats for Goff which contextually requires the input of dozens of people and then individually assess everyone else acontextually. That's the very thing you're accusing others of.

I get that this trade is a shock and I also get that many won't be okay with it...maybe ever, but certainly not before we get real information about Stafford in this offense.

That said, we're not in this situation because Goff was done dirty (his exit wasn't graceful, I will absolutely grant that).

I think in the end, this is gonna work out.

Of course everyone is free to feel how they're gonna feel.

Hopefully, after FA starts and we get past the draft, we'll be ready to move forward as fans with our 2021 Rams.

Ask Kurt Warner on the 2008 cardinals.

.

Aw c'mon.

That team was 9-7 and six of those wins was against the NFC West which was gawd awful then.

They had a high powered passing attack and a weak running game and got hot in the playoffs.

Of their last regular season games, they went 5-5... all five of those wins were against the NFC West.

They were the epitome of a mediocre team that just got hot at exactly the right time.

So let's not do this like Warner (who's one of my top 3 favorite players, ever) led the Cardinals to dominate with no running game and no defense.

They went 3-7 outside the NFC West and only got into the playoffs b/c the division was complete shit.

Still, what they did was impressive.

But faulting Stafford because that 11-5 Lions team didn't pull out their game...

I mean is it a team game or isn't it?

With Goff it's a team game. With Stafford it's all his fault?

Good Lord Almighty, this cannot turn into the next version of the Warner/Bulger debates.

No one has time for that... so can we just all decide together to NOT do that?

Silver's article is what it is... kinda informative and kinda a puff piece to do his friend, Goff, a solid.

I don't have a problem with it, but it's not a complete record of how this all played out, either.

Buffalo dogs?

I've never heard of or had one....but I want one

They are freaking delicious!

I may splurge and see if anyone makes some uncured buffalo dogs (the damned nitrates/nitrates trigger migraines and as I'm hoping this 16 day migraine is actually FINALLY breaking... the LAST thing I'm gonna do is eat a trigger food...LOL)

Still, I just really like the taste of buffalo (bison, but yeah) and it's healthier than chicken or fish with all the benefits of red meat.

Once I get a little health back, I need to find a butcher near me where I can get buffalo.
