When you look at it that way we coulda just traded 3 firsts for Stafford in 2015 and saved time, money, cap hell, and actually had a first round pick next year :LOL:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

That would mean we still had Jeff Fisher... and for real...fuck that...

Watched the first game against Chicago last year and Stafford so reminds me of Goff but with more mobility.

In addition Stafford does have much more arm strength than Goff.

I think Goff has a tad more accuracy than Stafford. Stafford missed a couple of easy throws.

Stafford also can make critical mistakes like Goff - at least in that game.

He had the lead and the ball with a few minutes left and threw a very unwise pass that got intercepted by Chicago that led to the win for Chicago.

Goff at least in the second half of games was really good at protecting the ball when he had the lead.

However, Stafford did lead a drive that should have won the game but like Goff had the receiver drop a sure TD pass.

Highlights only show so much. You have to watch the games to really get a good impression on a QB.

I will hold back on saying anything more about this trade until I watch all of last season.

Will take quite awhile lol.

Trading for Stafford, as many have said, is because McVay thinks they have a championship roster. So, if they can swing a few restructuring deals, then it would stand to reason that they would try to fill their biggest needs through free agency. I still think deep threat and Center are the two biggest needs. Then they are free to take players yo fill future holes. Otherwise, picking a deep threat or center may still leave a hole. I have a sick feeling that they resign Blythe.

One difference.

I actually don't think he'll have gaudy stats. McVay wants to own the TOP and use the run game.

The biggest difference we're likely to see is in our scoring and our offensive efficiency.

I expect to see VERY LARGE improvements in both of those areas...

Red Zone TD% should go up too, what the Rams needed to fix.

He wore 7 in college.... That's available as far as I know.

#7 is retired on both the Lions and Rams. That's why Matt took #9 there.

Meanwhile Wolford was #10 in college (taken by Kupp) and #7 in semi-pro. He only had #9 with Rams. I'm still saying he happily gives it up to Matt, free or for cash. I'll guess free since he really has no allegiance to it.

Goff is expected to be a transition QB to get them o their next QB. After that he likely becomes another Bradford, unless he can fix what is holding him back. I don't think that what ails him is fixable.

Detroit's line is way worse than ours as well...

Stafford was sacked 38times last year to Goffs 23 they both have been behind some poor lines recently but I think the point of this trade was that Stafford routinely handles himself better in a collapsing pocket then Goff has shown. Maybe that’s experience or maybe that’s just something some qbs have that others don’t

Stafford has good pocket awareness, steps up to make throws, and is decisive when he does run...waaaay less fumbles too...

The world of difference between Goff and Stafford is how they handle pressure in the pocket IMO...

I'm done watching last year's Lions games. Seen enough. We're in good shape and I definitely underrated him a bit. For his age he moves really well and is in good shape, for some reason I had thought he was fat must be I didn't like his face or something idk.

If they add a center and receiving weapon this offense is gonna 2018.

70 plus pages ago I must have woke up from a bad nap because I didn't react really well last night. 24 hours later and many hours prior in fact waking up I welcomed and accepted this trade. Literally night and day difference.

I'm watching MASH Season 3 right now on Hulu. I've seen them all growing up but it's so nice without the commercials. What a great show! Humor abound.

Just out of curiosity... Is there some reason why anyone would want their qb to throw a no look pass in between three defenders?

Most likely result is an INT and a benched qb.

Do you want it? Not really and you certainly don't game plan it.

But if you have a guy who can successfully do it?

Well, it means if you're a defender, even if you're locked into your assignment and you can see his eyes... he still may burn you.

That can demoralize a defense.

I mean, if Goff had tried that, I'd probably have to buy a new TV...

I don't think communication had anything to do with it AJ. The Rams simply were not willing to ride the Jared Goff Get-Right Train any longer. His rope played out. Now if he's smart he'll rewind those areas he was coming up short and at the least get his basics down because I'll tell you right now if you don't read and see the field well in a rebuild situation you're in for some serious pain.

But I think this will be good for him. Goff's a good kid and I'm sure he's gonna learn a really important lesson here and maybe one that helps him get his career back on track.

I think someone else posted either this article or a companion piece and it deserves more attention. Six pages detailing what we all saw. I didn't want to admit what he was saying... didn't really come to terms with it until after the trade...

Also, feel a little good that my recollection was right and it was the Detroit game in 2018 that Goff's problems started. I was wrong in thinking it was the 6 man front... but yeah, it was in Detroit that his issues really began and snowballed into that Chicago game where we were wrecked 15-6.

It's really worth the read.
