I got through the first 15 pages to get a feel on the big move. Lot's of Rams passion going on. I wasn't thrilled with the Ramsey trade. It worked out and I think this trade will too.
I tried to look at the contract numbers which are good for the Rams believe it or not. A good read with the below.
Goff regressed. The Miami game was the first big/obvious game where Goff was not prepared. McVay stated the Rams knew the blitz/5 man rushes were coming and prepared (per McVay) for them. Goff apparently didn't make the right adjustment. Goff and his relationship with McVay went downhill from there. I don't know why but, Goff did not seem the same as in the past. He looked confused a lot. He made some really bad throws. Interceptions, fumbles, and bad decisions followed.
I like Goff but, he isn't athletic enough to overcome his mistakes nor the Rams offensive line's deficiencies.
Stafford was the Lions offense forever. He never had much help. He has a cannon and quicker release. Moves well enough and can run when needed. He won't have to put the Rams on his back. Rams could have more money in 2021 Stafford will be a Ram for a number of years. He needs to be smart and stay healthy. Rams are better with him.
The Rams take on $22.2 million in dead money by trading Jared Goff, but Matthew Stafford’s contract is very affordable.
