Goff was a 2 time Pro Bowl player though. And I'm not sure who ever claimed he was a HoFer waiting to happen.
I don't even care about Goff anymore dude...like I made my points about him throughout the year but he's not my QB anymore so Lets go Stafford!

I'm just laughing he literally claimed to get bullied and chastised for saying Goff wasn't a HOF .....like what

Goff for his career has been a dink and dunk passer Stafford hasn’t been

lol you can’t sit back and put that record only on Goff. McVay Gurley special teams and defense owe much more to that than just Goff. Tbh how many games can we actually say that Goff was the difference maybe 4-5 games. That offense was Gurley’s when he left and he got injured everything dropped red zone offense. Offense efficiency Goffs passer rating all I’m saying is that more often then not Goff was really just a Jag and you need more than that from a guy who was making the same as Aaron Rodgers
Okay if you thought I was saying this is solely because of Goff then I apologize for misleading you.

No I should have said that Goff is a decent reason that we went 36-0. Big difference there.

With Stafford - we possibly also go 36-0 but I know Goff and we went 36-0 with him if I am getting my point across.

I want to know who said that too because I have never read anyone saying the Goff is a HOF QB. Maybe I missed reading a few posts somewhere.

I know I never chastised anyone or least tried not to.

I disagree with how some people feel about Goff but I hope I didn't come across as chastising someone for disagreeing with me.

Nobody did he's too busy patting himself on the back and playing the victim.

I was going to wait to get to the end of this thread before I commented again but DAMN, I just can’t get there.
After 24 hours of simmering, I’m starting to see most of the dynamics of this trade and why it happened now and why the price was what it ended up being.

1. Goff wasn’t progressing enough for the Rams

2. McVay was frustrated. Goff was frustrate.

3. Goff wouldn’t restructure his deal. This pissed Snead and company off.

4. Stafford was frustrated in Detroit and wanted to be traded

5 McVay likes Stafford’s tools

6 Stafford likes the team the Rams have right now and is intrigued with McVay’s Offense.

7 Rams had to make a move on Stafford quickly even if it made sense to roll with Goff in 2021.

8. Washington wanted Stafford and bid the price up.

9. Goff‘s contract limited any other deals.

10. SF wanted Stafford. The Ram’s hand was forced NOW!

11. Detroit was surely going to get at least a 1st and 3rd this year for Stafford and they would have had to use those to draft a viable QB this year. It was a much better deal to get Goff, even if not a long term answer, to get them thru a couple of years rebuild. They now have draft capital to draft a QB in the next couple of years and use the draft this year to fill holes.

12. The Rams probably already know that Stafford will sign a team friendly extension that restructures for future compensation to ease the cap this year. Then, they can attempt to keep most of this D intact for a couple more years.

13. The Rams and us are now hoping we can now catch lightning in a bottle in 2021!

GO RAMS!

I definitely have to watch more of his games last year.

The first half against Chicago he was a dink and dunk passer and looked like I was watching Goff play instead of Stafford.

There were two passes that he threw for over 20 yards in the first half and both times he had a very clean pocket to throw from.

I almost never saw that with Goff last year. His pocket was usually collapsing when he got rid of the ball.

Only a few times last year did Goff have a completely clean pocket like Stafford had on those two throws.

As much as random people on the internet care about what you're typing? We all know you by now and expect nothing short of what you're delivering. Thank you for living up to our expectations of you. He was loved by a lot of Rams fans btw because he was a Rams QB who took our team to the SB. Some people are capable of appreciating that.
Yeah and some seen him as the QB who took us there and took a huge shit in the SB. I appreciate what he did for our organization but he NEVER was going to take us consistently anywhere with his shortcomings. 38 turnovers in 2 seasons. That by itself not including anything else is a damning statistic.

Speaking of expecting the horse dung you type anytime somebody sees anything other than how you see it and you're non stop insults, chastising, and belittling. It's amazing when those who dish it can't take it.

uhhhh what?

Damn, son. Must be nice to have that kind of disposable scratch...

In fairness, that was late-night brain. 150K a year *in perpetuity* isn't what I was trying to convey, but I was pretty worn out and not thinking clearly. Should have been clearer that it was 150K a year on a shorter pay-down schedule than the 10 year plan they were offering.

It's also not the first time the offensive minded head coach put his support behind a QB and failed to develop him. Hell it's the third time in two years this coach signed an offensive player to a huge contract and then failed all three of those players.

How did he fail anyone? Cooks got concussions and the Rams, smartly, felt they had to get value for him before it was too late. Gurley has arthritis in his knee and the Rams clearly didn't know when they signed the contract. Goff was a starting QB and he clearly is worse now then he was in 2018 or 2017. People are trying way too hard to think about this from a different perspective when the truth is dancing ass naked in front of us.

I'm taking you just fine and I welcome discussion. I'm not angry I'm not insulting to anybody, don't think I'm insulting you just lowering myself to your level which I should know well enough to not do.

Hey finally! Maybe you can treat other posters with a degree of respect now to play out your sudden streak of meekness and humbleness.

He failed in trading for and giving Cooks the contract in the first place and everybody knew Cooks had concussion problems he was knocked out of the SB three years in a row to them.

I thought everybody knew you get arthritis to one extent or another after an ACL surgery. Did Snead and McVay not know that Gurley had one of those before we drafted him? Pretty sure they did.

Goff was very bad at times the last 2 years nobody here will say otherwise I don't think. Is it not the OC's job to get the most out of his QB? As I've said before they signed Jared to a huge extension at the start of the 2019 season, after training camp when McVay could see where he was at with his development. Did he not see issues then? Did the think he was doing good enough to sign him to an extension almost 2 years before it was needed? McVay and Snead made the decision to sign him early, maybe they should have gone the Cowboys route and made Jared earn it with another year. I doubt Jared gets that contract if they'd waited 3 months to offer it, can't blame Jared for taking it but we can blame him for not playing better.

People are only seeing Jared as the person who failed in 2020 and IMO it isn't just him.

Lol at the amount of passive aggressive shit in this thread from people who don’t agree with the trade. Sorry that y’all weren’t consulted.

I'm sure people did call. But I doubt they had a veteran QB near as good as Stafford to give back. And maybe they weren't going to take on of Goff's contract.

Also, here's an actual photo if Mike Silvers eating Jared Goff's cob.

Funny how that tweet doesn’t mention what teams were willing to offer for Goff and his crap contract. Just because there was interest doesn’t mean it was anything worth entertaining but what the fuck do I know right?
