He failed in trading for and giving Cooks the contract in the first place and everybody knew Cooks had concussion problems he was knocked out of the SB three years in a row to them.

I thought everybody knew you get arthritis to one extent or another after an ACL surgery. Did Snead and McVay not know that Gurley had one of those before we drafted him? Pretty sure they did.

Goff was very bad at times the last 2 years nobody here will say otherwise I don't think. Is it not the OC's job to get the most out of his QB? As I've said before they signed Jared to a huge extension at the start of the 2019 season, after training camp when McVay could see where he was at with his development. Did he not see issues then? Did the think he was doing good enough to sign him to an extension almost 2 years before it was needed? McVay and Snead made the decision to sign him early, maybe they should have gone the Cowboys route and made Jared earn it with another year. I doubt Jared gets that contract if they'd waited 3 months to offer it, can't blame Jared for taking it but we can blame him for not playing better.

People are only seeing Jared as the person who failed in 2020 and IMO it isn't just him.

Not everybody, but some want to give McVay and Snead all the credit for the things they do that work out and none of the blame for the things they do that don't work out. Everything bad that happens on their watch is someone else's fault to these people.

In reality, they have done a lot of good things but have also made some big mistakes, and they deserve blame for the mistakes as much as they deserve credit for their successes.

Funny how that tweet doesn’t mention what teams were willing to offer for Goff and his crap contract. Just because there was interest doesn’t mean it was anything worth entertaining but what the fuck do I know right?
Right? I'm sure teams did call. But it may have been offering a measly 4th RD pick.

The Goffamania copium is strong right now...

Goff took us a SB, got paid like a top 5 QB, and ended up in a place he wanted to be (which wasn't here)...and we replaced him with a better quarterback...ON TO THE NEXT....

And for us to eat a large portion of his contract on top of it. We’ll never know! But what we DO know is that Stafford is the new starting QB for the Rams and there’s no changing that. I get the hurt feelings, I get disagreeing with the trade but none of it changes the outcome. Isn’t there something out there that says accept the things you cannot change? I may be completely off base here ;)

Perhaps, but maybe they were also factoring in the way McVay and Snead had talked Goff's value down. Meanwhile, Detroit's GM, who was in our building last year and has more inside scoop than other teams, was willing to give up Matt Stafford and take on Goff's guarantees after this year.

I agree not everybody and in my thread I started I talk about how much good they have done and they built the Rams back up. But they have made some major mistakes which cost the Rams too. Jared isn't the only one to cost us game and some forget that.

Similar to the question of how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop - the world may never know. I think it was a good deal for both teams and I know I may be in the minority with that. That’s ok.

This is a very fair and concise take on things. And I agree with it. Jared wasn’t the sole reason we lost games, it’s a team game and there’s plenty of blame to go around. I’m just glad that the team is making changes and not sitting by idly, playing the wait and see game. There were glaring issues all around the team - there still is - and I’m glad we’re doing SOMETHING. And I can completely understand people not agreeing with the price of doing business but it is what it is.

It's also not the first time the offensive minded head coach put his support behind a QB and failed to develop him. Hell it's the third time in two years this coach signed an offensive player to a huge contract and then failed all three of those players.
I think that flag you're carrying for the Goff Delusion group has to be getting heavy by now OS. Just set it down man it'll be ok.

Or keep carrying it. Because you're really getting somewhere. :beer2:

Y.A. Tittle was pretty good for a bald guy. He could really sling it. Great qb, great name... no hair.

Yelberton Abraham Tittle Jr., He was special, not sure what my issue was with bald guys, loved my Grandfather (Mother's side) and he was bald, guess it was a fear of losing my hair. BTW, still have been lucky to keep it, however, Roman Gabriel looked the part, John Hadl, not so much. Although Hadl was a great QB too.

No heavier than your McVay can do no wrong club banner. And likewise keep toting that thing around I'm sure it's a great feel especially for somebody 4 days ago was saying Wolford was the next great Rams QB and would win the job in camp. Maybe he still can after all McVay did say there would be competition for the starting QB job so Wolford still has a shot. :cheers2:

Respect is earned, you think with your attitude and comments in this thread and others you are earning it?
To hell with your respect in regards to me but putting up with a long time of watching how you badly treat other posters.

Thats not cool.

Do we know which of our third rounders we are giving up? We had three of them this year; I'd really like it to be the latest of those three ...

Wrong. And he can do it. In fact I said his hire of his DC this year was a friend hire which normally doesn't end well.

And I know you're bitter right now but you know I never said that about Wolford. I simply said the kid could ball and play at this level. And I think he can too he's just not gonna be a starter between arm limits and recklessness.

Don't worry though I still love you man. I believe you're gonna bounce back from this.

I'm not bitter that's one thing that's making me passive aggressive if anything. People with this assumption I'm bitter. I'm disappointed that the Rams leadership keep making keep making this same mistake again. I'm confused why people seem to be ok with it. I don't give a damn about Goff. I don't like his college the town it's in or anything about where he comes form I was completely uncaring about him. I care about the team he QB'd for. Since he was under center for the Rams I was all in on him and want him to succeed. He's a Lion now and honestly I couldn't care less if he ever plays a game again in the NFL he's not a Ram.

I'm a Stafford as a Rams fan now and happy to move forward. Want some painful reading? Read honest reviews of Stafford by Lions fans, on second thought some around here might not want to with all the glowing praise he's getting.

There's nothing to need to bounce back from, I'm a Rams fan and always will be the only time that came close to changing was when GF traded Dickerson. Man that hurt a 17 year old kid.

Got nothing but love for you as well and I'm hoping for the best as I have at this point in every NFL season for 40+ years.
