Giving up a first and a third to get rid of a QB who is winning is an unspeakably dumb decision, unless you replace him with a QB who wins a Super Bowl. They went all in on Stafford to win a Super Bowl. If he doesn't do that in the next two or three years, this deal was a failure of epic proportions. And god help this franchise if Goff actually plays well in Detroit (which doesn't look likely with all their WRs being free agents, but you never know).
Don't get me wrong... I REALLY hope it works out. I REALLY do.
And knowing Detroit took on the guarantees... that's a really big deal for us to retain more talent.
I'm warming up to this, but it's gonna take time...
Honestly, the cap relief makes a difference.
Sure, they are pretty much made of teflon. We should expect stupid shit from them. They'll be fine dude.
They will probably be picks between 24-32. Those first round picks are important for the health of the team. You get good players on cheap contracts for 5 years. We trade them away for proven veterans that are due a new fat contract. That's why we are in cap hell. We get out of Goff's contract, but many days will it be before Stafford gets a new deal?We will have better QB play there's no doubt about that. And not only that Stafford is in the best situation he's been in in forever. His play will get better under McVay too.
Losing two 1st round picks hurts but they will be picks 37-32 likely so not the end of the world. We've been killing it with our mid round picks lately.. rounds 2-5.
PLAYERS > PICKS 100% of the time
Brad Holmes would make a helluva used car salesman, i'll give him that.
I was talking about the still shots. I thought it was just gonna be a bunch of pictures of Stafford clutching a football. That’s guts and a will to win right there

THIS may be a massive part that will really help.
I didn't realize Detroit was taking the guarantees.
That changes things a bit...
I wasn't saying the Rams are going to dump Stafford after one season , just that his contract seems alot more user friendly

Either way, I'm asking you to be classy and then acting like an ass myself. My bad on thatSure he was undoubtedly on board. But to say “he was the reason”... nah.
