He was the best unrestricted free agent the Rams had hit free agency and I never thought he would be resigned. I'm Stoked!

I personally think it was a overpay and wish we would've signed a different edge and gained a comp pick next year. But Floyd is only 28 and is in his prime. Over the next 3-4 years we should see his best football. He's a slightly above average pass rusher I'd say but very, very good against the run. That played a big part in this.

I would've rather tired to save some money with a Dupree, Dunlap, Melvin Ingram, Hasan Reddick signing.. But at least we have a solid edge presence heading into next year. Can't be too mad.

I love getting Floyd back and didn’t expect to retain him after all! Just got home and looking at all the news out there!

Wow 16m a year? Well, some are complaining about the cost but I’m sure with some of these teams trying to poach him it took that much at a discount for his services tbh. I could see a few teams rumored to be interested in him giving him a bit more.

We need others to take the focus off of AD and if they don’t they need to pay the price. Another hole filled to go for BPA in draft.

And wtf? We still 32 mill in the hole and need 5.7 mill for our draft. Any word on restructures yet?

Well considering he was costing the cap approx 3.5 mill if he left, he essentially is on board for 12.5 year 1

love This move. Rams know what they have in him, if they’re breaking the bank, they know why

Apparently the Giants I believe were bidding hard for him right up to the finish line. As for salary cap, we're now another $`12.5 in the hole, but we still have a day and a half to climb out somehow.

Here's the thing.....

Floyd's play as of last year was deserving of this kind of money.....

There are those in here (myself included) that are concerned his play was mainly due to the AD effect (see D. Fowler) as Floyd was mainly a bust before playing with AD and therefore we could have got someone else cheaper to come in and do the same....The FO obviously felt different...time will tell.

Not to mention he seems to be ascending he may have another level yet. Obviously it's Monday morning quarterback if he has an off season then it's a definite overpay. Again though we still don't know how it's structured and maybe the rams do believe he even has another level.

Great point on the existing cap hit if Floyd walked. Helps explain the money side of the deal.

I would’ve rather let him go in free agency, to be honest. This looks like we drastically overpaid.

Far less than that likely.

We all know Floyd likely won't be playing for the Rams for the last 2 years of this contract extension.

If he matches his stat output from last year and has another good year in 2022, this will prove to be a brilliant signing.

On paper, this was a huge piece of the puzzle for the Rams to make a big postseason playoff run this year.

None of my concern if we overpaid or not. I will let that be Demoff's and Snead's problem. These past four seasons have worked out pretty well with them.

Damn happy Floyd is back!

I would assume all the potential restructures we speculated on will be done. This team doesn't seem to have selfish players. AD, Ramsey, Kupp, Woods I would assume are all getting restructured. Stafford will obviously as well. I think looking back to all the numbers if we did all the restructures there it amounted to about $25M in space if I remember correctly. Maybe that is with a Brockers or Havenstein trade/cut which I think are very probably moves for us.

But regarding Stafford restructuring... we need to be under the cap prior to the new league year on Wednesday right? But the Stafford trade wont be finalized until Wednesday..so does that mean we need to be under the cap on Wednesday BEFORE we restructure Stafford's contract?
