Well we have no idea if he wants in on that side of the ball since he is the OC and DC already.

It's not a huge change but it's enough that for the first half of the season the players may struggle.

I suspect this was more or as much Snead and McVay than just McVay.

And if you think it was a good move to get rid of WP why do you think it was a good move to hire him in the first place just three years ago. That's contradictory.

Well I will paraphrase what Rich Hammond said, "The experienced Philips was a great hire for a 30yr old McVay, but now a more experienced McVay might be looking for something different in his DC."

It was also mentioned that McVay nay want a coach who can change schemes, much like Bellichick does, where as Philips must be known for teaching scheme discipline and just out executing the other team.

I wonder if there is anyone in the Hoodie's tree that would be available and would make sense.

Is it Wade's fault that Peters did not fit his system or is it Wade's fault for not tweaking the coverage to Peter's strength?

We gave up two 1st rnd picks for a guy that fits Wade's scheme to replace a guy that is first team All-Pro this year. And now we're moving to someone else.

Not all change is for the best so I hope the next guy is at least as good as Wade if not better.

Well... Belichek's son is becoming quite a talked up coach these days. More so for his ridiculous haircut and the fact he sounds exactly like his dad when he talks. But he has also been part of that defensive staff that for a while was looking like one of the best all time for the first half of the season. But... can we lower ourselves to such depths? It would be an interesting pairing though between McVay and him.

In my plan we would need to keep Brockers. I thought fowler but someone pointed out that he just isn't that good in that roll and it made since to me. So I get that. I think fox could be good there. I acknowledge our challenge would be LB. But I think we can make it work for a season. It's never super smooth.

Also, I've never hit that button. Haha

I hit the button when I'm not sure of someone's viewpoint or disagree with it. Sometimes I don't have time to comment or I've commented on the subject before. I'm always ready to listen to member's ideas to make the Rams better weather I agree or not.

Belichick defensive tree is the one that varies the most. Belichick Jr fits that bill...
Good Lord, Belichick Jr. as our D Coach, can you imagine?

The conversation before next year’s Rams-Pats game:

Bill: Hey son, can you pass along those tapes?
Junior: Dad, we’ve been over this...

Kromer remains an enigma for me. His & McVay's first year, 2017, we didn't draft any offensive linemen, instead we brought in a couple free agent pros in Whitworth & Sullivan. We already had Jamon Brown at RG, Saffold at LG and Havenstein at RT, this was the making of a solid veteran line-up for the most part, not really much teaching required of Kromer, more a need to just build chemistry.

2018 was the year we dismissed Brown in favor of Blythe, and drafted Noteboom, Allen & Demby. None of whom have shown much of anything as we now end the 2019 season.

2019 brings Evans & Edwards through the draft, and a host of UDFA's to stack the practice squad. It also spells the end of Sullivan and a regression for Havenstein.

How much influence Kromer had on the draftees or free agents since joining the organization, your guess is as good as mine, but when it comes to judging who his starting OL would be in 2019, featuring Noteboom at LG, Allen at Center, Blythe at RG and Demby as his first man up, he can't help but being held responsible.

A shame we couldn't get a ring with Wade. Maybe he can do the coin flip in next years Super Bowl and we can give him an honorary ring when we win it.

Best to you big fella. Cheers.

Mcvay entered his interview with the Rams with the idea of bringing Wade in - I for one am happy and think it aided in us hiring him.

I am happy he is really looking at everything and really putting all the option on the wall so to say.

I also like that Mcvay is attacking this from a point of him taking more time with the defense. Feeling confident in growing his knowledge of the game.

I will continue to patiently wait happens on both defense and offense.

I will miss Wade. Straight to the core Wade is a good guy. I don't know him in anyway and that speaks to who he is - kind of has a contagious personality. I am sure it will be missed in the locker room and coaching staff.

I'm excited to see what we have in store with an attack based defense that has Donald on the Dline, with Ramsey locking in and Rapp/Johnson on the back end.

We'll see how the Lb's sort themselves out. Littleton has been exceptional as an all around guy and excelling in coverage.

You can see Rams are looking at the defense that says pressure. Lock down back end with a Donald lead front can go places.

Stop the run and let the other guys do their job.

Is it Wade's fault that Peters did not fit his system or is it Wade's fault for not tweaking the coverage to Peter's strength?

Did Wade ask for Peters thinking he could make him work in his system only to find out he was wrong? We dont' know.
We gave up two 1st rnd picks for a guy that fits Wade's scheme to replace a guy that is first team All-Pro this year. And now we're moving to someone else.

Irrelevant? Peters also might not fit the next guys system and Ramsey again might be better for that system. Are you saying because Wade possibly thought he could make Peters work and couldn't so we had to move onto somebody else we should be forced to keep Wade? We don't know
Not all change is for the best so I hope the next guy is at least as good as Wade if not better.

Not all change is bad sometimes it's for the better like when we got rid of Fisher for McVay. We don't know in the end if this change is bad or good.

In short we don't know a anything atm what went on behind the scenes. It's very very likely considering having watched the last 3 years of draft videos that Wade had input on every player drafted and signed and in the end couldn't make things work that he thought he could. We have seen Wade, Sean and Les all talk about how coaches wanted certain guys including Wade. It's very likely he made his own bed with this and it's Sean holding him accountable.

Feel bad for Wade, he's definitely taking the fall for this season. It's unfortunate because it wasn't Wade's fault we lost the SB. That one was McVay not being able to scheme and adjust. Hope he doesn't get to involved on the defensive side, he has a lot of work to do on offense.

Junior: I already gave them to Ernie, there's copies in your Dropbox, and I sent you two copies of my playbook and Sean's playbook. I also have agreed to script the first 137 defensive plays of the game and provided that script to you. You're going to win. This is why you let me go.

Seriously. I don't know what the hell any of you are thinking. That guy isn't going to do anything but help his dad cheat.

The old man may be suspended for a year or two if Goodall can find his balls. Spygate 2.0 should be very expensive for N.E.

If you are going to hold Wade accountable, why not hold Snead, McVay, and Kromer accountable as well? How do you separate one from the other? It seems to me that for several games we all lauded the way Wade would scheme/make adjustments after halftime. And how about that super bowl run last year, when the D carried them. And for the past 3 years, besides flipping the defensive backfield, quite frequently I might add, did the Rams ever give Wade a high draft pick for a linebacker or defensive lineman? Outside of Gaines, who is a rookie, I can't think of any other decent draft pick.

I understand that change is inevitable. I just like these guys when they become Rams, and it's hard to see them go. Especially guys like Wade Philips.
