This RB class is ridiculous.

You have Jeanty at the top, total package all 3 downs. May get to 26 due to depth of class.

Then you have the robo types built like Gurley, the North Carolina and Iowa RBs. Those two are studs.

Then a glut starting that round 3 range. Of those Scattebo is my huckleberry. He may slide due to forty but his film is fuckin lit. He has McVay written on his forehead. He can screen, lead block, wheel route, and run the fuck out of the ball.

Round 5 still has guys like Martinez. I mean damn. They will change a bit based on workouts but this class is :fire1:. Rams will find another back if they want one.
Thoughts on Devin Neal from Kansas? I randomly saw his game against Colorado and he was amazing. He might be overworked coming into the NFL and too much wear & tear. But he was a stud that game.

Good back IMO just not the "breakaway" speed kind of guy some are after.

Are you shitting me? I never knew Eric was that bad at fumbling wtf?
Thing is it was different back then - they counted everything as a fumble and didn't review or replay nearly anything.

If you watch those games in the 80's they call a lot of things catches and fumbles they wouldn't today. They also didnt review if a runner was down before the ball came out and the coaches couldn't challenge.

I'm sure Dickerson had a lot of things called fumbles back then that wouldn't be called fumbles today.

If you're interested in a power HB, take a look at Kalel Mullings from Michigan too. 6'2" 233 pound former LB. Vision, patience, and very agile for a guy his size. Should go on Day 3.

I like Scattebo, but I'm leaning towards LeQuint Allen if we go HB late on Day 2.
Watched Mullings & Allen highlights.

I would prefer Mullings. He would pair well with Corum for a future backfield. A thunder & lightning type pairing. He has some juice with that 230 lb body.

Allen looks like Jerrick McKinnon. A nice receiving back, but at 6-0 200, a little slender to help in a tough physical game like yesterday.

To be perfectly honest I’d like to upgrade at RB more for the lack of explosives, speed etc than I am for the fumbles. Both are good reasons, but a Sean McVay team deserves a 5 star back.

Corum isn't what I'd classify a lightning type HB. What I like about Allen (beyond the receiving ability) is the explosiveness. That's something we're lacking. I'm not worried about whether we should get a power HB or an explosive HB. I just want a player who can produce in this offense. I think Allen can.

Haven't watched Kansas this year. He's on the list, working my way through them. There's so many it's nuts.

Kind of referring to his quickness... could be a good back to get in the open field on 3rd down passing situations.

Just for comparison's sake:

Kyren had 5 fumbles over the regular season, losing 3.

Eric Dickerson had 78 fumbles over the course of his career.

His first four full seasons with the Rams, ED had 49 fumbles. That's averaging over 12 per season. (Not sure if that stat is "fumbles" or Fumbles lost" , but regardless, it's a fuck ton.)

Yeah, ED was a supremely talented player and the entire focus of the Rams' O. But man oh man, did he fumble a lot -- at double or triple the rate that Kyren does.
I keep arguing that some of our greats had really bad first few seasons. Kyren is on par or better in a lot of the categories. He will get even better.

Fix the o line. We have too many problems to be wasting away on a rb. Maybe a power back or turn Jordan Whittington into a fullback and have him run with kyren and Corum.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Kyren. I'm probably "pro-Kyren" more than most on here. To me, he seems like the engine that makes this offense go. He averaged 5.6 YPC carry yesterday, and most seem to take that for granted. I seem to remember that sometime in 2023 (when Kyren was out with an injury for several games) there were these stats comparing the Rams offense "with and without" Kyren, and it was like night and day... the offense ground to a halt without him.
I am right there with ya. Our offense looks a LOT better when KW is part of it. I love pretty much everything about the kid, and I know his fumble on Sunday is gutting him to his core. He's as passionate of a player as I have seen and I know he will learn from it and come back better.

But yeah.... The fumbles are incredibly frustrating, and the timing of them is usually brutal. That has to stop.

The offensive line was actually really good at run blocking though. Our run game should've been more productive than it was.

Assuming the Rams resign Jackson at LT the line is pretty well set.
Jackson/Avila/Dotson/Havenstein are set.
Given his struggles this year I am open to Jonah Jackson competing for either G spot.
Also, a battle at C with Limmer and Jackson seems to be likely.
Depth at RT and inside is pretty solid. No depth at LT.
I would try to find a mid round swing T type to help with depth.
Outside of something like that I would not expect a lot moves on the OL.

I have to agree with you there. There's two that to me are a bit more unknown that I like as more change of pacebacks if we pick one up late. One is Marcus Yarns from Delaware who is at the Senior Bowl anx apparently has 4.3 type speed and Jamal Haynes from Georgia Tech. No real highlight videos of Yarns and not sure if Haynes declared, but I just watched Jamal Haynes highlights and kid has got some juice and wiggle. Guess he went there originally as a WR but converted to a running back. Love how he runs with attitude. Deep running back class for sure.

I largely agree with this.

The only change that I would make is to say that the swing tackle should also be capable of replacing Hav in a year or two and they should draft this guy by the 3rd round at the latest. They need someone better than Noteboom or McClendon.

Should the Rams retain Alaric Jackson, the O-Line may well return in-tact ... starters and top reserves.
This shouldnt even be a question, YES! Jackson needs to be taken care of ASAP. Im really not set on Limmer. Need a Vet with him. A Proper vet Center, not an experiment! We need a Back-up to Big Rob. Injuries are starting to become an issue.

It was middle of the pack over-all. Our Stuff rate was one of the lowest in the League and one of the lowest Yards before catch/run. Kyren will bounce back! Regular season, Kyren was top 5 in every catagory Except big plays.

Might look even better with a more dynamic RB getting half the workload with Williams & Corum finding roles on 3rd down and a series here or there on first & second down.

I am not for dumping Williams, although freeing up his $5M cap number wouldn't hurt. However, he's obviously a good starting caliber back, so if a rookie struggles to adjust, he would be great as a mentor and a 3rd down back.

Now, maybe it would cause a problem since a high to mid round draft pick at RB would signal that Kyren has a year left here and he is done. In that case they may feel they need ti move him as they did with Earnest Jones.
