I'm optimistic about it. There's not that many three-down backs in the league that can do everything that Kyren can, and he's much younger and costs less than McCaffery was when he was dealt.

Add 3 rounds to any Mem trade projections and you're likely in the ballpark.

Remember what Snead has said in the past, "if it is something that is eventual then make it immediate". I think its a good chance they go look for a bigger difference maker at RB.

There’s a possibility that we draft him in April.

If he doesn't...That's a conundrum. I like kyren, but not at free agent costs. We've had did luck at drafting rbs, and i also like corum. But I wouldn't pay Williams Saquon money if that's what it comes to

Would rather take Judkins or Henderson of Ohio State. Either one of them works, but I'd prefer Judkins for his overall athletic profile.

I'm good with Judkins as well. Especially since they can be had in the third.

If the Lions have shown me anything it's that your offense becomes 1000% more dynamic when you have a running back who's a home run threat every time they get the ball. I know guys like Gibbs aren't a dime a dozen but we need to find a guy like that who can take over a game when we need him to. Enough with these small guys like Williams and Corum.

Gibbs is 5'9", 203 lbs. KW and Corum are bigger.

I think you need a more dynamic back. Whether that's a big back in the Derrek Henry mold or Barkley mold, or a guy in the Gibbs mold. I know it's tough to find elite guys like that, I am just talking about poor man versions of those types.


Imagine if we would have signed Barkley or a Henry instead of spending that money on Jonah Jackson & Parkinson. They are probably still playing this year. Hindsight is 20/20, but I think they need to think a little differently, especially with an aging QB. Need a more explosive and reliable RB to take some of the workload off of Stafford.

And with it being an all in year, if they draft a RB high, I wouldn't necessarily throw Kyren away, he still could be a great asset as a 3rd down back and change of pace back. Or that role falls to Corum.

The more playmakers the better, I just want more of a difference maker at RB.

I wouldn’t dump him - he’s an elite pass blocker and has great vision, making the most of his limited physical talent. But he definitely needs to work on his ball security first sure. And if there is a good back available in the draft or FA who brings more to the table, we should go get him.

I think if there is a talent like Jahmyr Gibbs in the next draft, I'd pick him. Lets get the next healthy Todd Gurley and give Staff a reason to stick around another couple of years.

I'm good with Judkins as well. Especially since they can be had in the third.

Problem is we won't pick until picks 90 and 100 in rd 3. So maybe a trade down in the 1st to get an extra 3rd, but as it stands now, a big gap between pick 26 and the end of rd 3. None of the top backs will be there, especially as teams seem to be prioritizing them again.

If he was explosive like Gurley or had power like Bettis or elite speed like Faulk…I could get behind “maybe” coaching up the ball security and bringing him back as the #1

But he’s not those things. He has decent power, good vision and some blitz skills. The fumbling is a problem obviously.

Draft a guy with some elite skills (of any kind) and let Kyren compete and play out his deal.

Fumbles kill.. you cannot be an elite back and fumble:

Just for comparison's sake:

Kyren had 5 fumbles over the regular season, losing 3.

Eric Dickerson had 78 fumbles over the course of his career.

His first four full seasons with the Rams, ED had 49 fumbles. That's averaging over 12 per season. (Not sure if that stat is "fumbles" or Fumbles lost" , but regardless, it's a fuck ton.)

Yeah, ED was a supremely talented player and the entire focus of the Rams' O. But man oh man, did he fumble a lot -- at double or triple the rate that Kyren does.
