A small RB that has no breakaway speed, gets banged up, and literally has the worst ball security in the league (EDIT: with the fumbles usually coming at back breaking moments).... does that sound like someone you want on your roster for anything but a very good value contract? Not to me. See what his financial asks are when his deal is up. 99% chance we should walk.
Let Kyren walk.

And he had another back breaking fumble.

Most of his fumbles should be a fixable problem. They just need to work on his ball security when he is running in traffic.

Also, I don't know why it took McVay so long to go to the short passes

Logic would make you think so - but it seems as if a RB has a fumbling problem it doesn't seem to go away.
Yeah, that's when you have to make a change. I was really hoping they would give someone like Cody Schroeder a chance.

He's had 3 years. This is the type of thing that's ok to be said for a rookie.

For Kyren, they have to make a decision soon on his future with the team and at this point they will make that decision with the understanding that he has a fumbling problem. They probably let him play out his contract and then let him walk.

Unless Kyren presses the issue and demands an extension this off-season. At which point he would get the Ernest Jones treatment.

Think they will try to draft a true star RB this year?

I wouldn’t dump him - he’s an elite pass blocker and has great vision, making the most of his limited physical talent. But he definitely needs to work on his ball security first sure. And if there is a good back available in the draft or FA who brings more to the table, we should go get him.

He should be a complimentary back to a more dynamic back. Corum's speed would have been a nice change up today.

Get a bigger back that is more explosive next year. Maybe the kid out of Iowa.

I'd pay Tiki Barber a boatload of a consultation fee to work with Kyren. He had a big time fumble issue and was able to correct it
Alas, as much of a fan of his I surely believe in drafting an RB every year and if someone earns more snaps, so be it

If the Lions have shown me anything it's that your offense becomes 1000% more dynamic when you have a running back who's a home run threat every time they get the ball. I know guys like Gibbs aren't a dime a dozen but we need to find a guy like that who can take over a game when we need him to. Enough with these small guys like Williams and Corum.

I'd trade him. I have to imagine we could get a third for him; he's still a very damn good back, and if McCaffrey can get an entire draft, I have to imagine K-Will could get a high pick.

I know the numbers might show McCaffrey and Williams are close in production but there really isn't a comparison. Sure McCaffrey is now dealing with tendinitis and may never be the same but he's been a better back than Kyren ever will be.

Not saying he'll get a second, but a third? Absolutely, I could expect a third.
