Recalling Sam Bradford's ACL injury timelines, I don't know if Kupp will even be ready for the start of next season. I wish him the best.

I think we need to bring Cooper back if at all possible.
That's my preference too. Cooper is a proven play maker who can play the slot & run a different but just as good type of "jet sweep" when needed. PC is also a dandy back up to JoJo Natson too;). Cooper has also been a better reciever & has remained in better playing health than Mike Thomas has. Not sure that Mike Thomas's deep threat is a big need currently in this offense as long as we have Cooks/ Reynolds & Woods healthy.

Rams are not in any kind of possession to be forced to be hasten in this roster move from the Injured Reserve. Snead has more than ample numbers of good pass catchers available to play now.

Writers and talking heads keep saying that the rams offense will suffer from the loss of Kupp. While I agree it’s a big loss, do they not watch the games? The offense didn’t miss a beat with Kupp out of the lineup. Josh Reynolds had 2 TDS in one game. Not to mention the TE’s are starting to get more involved. I guess they just need something to talk about.

It'll be very tight, general guideline is 9-10 months recovery. However, lately it seems like players have been coming back sooner than that. I'd say a WR that requires cutting more than any other position for precise route running I'd say the full time would be required. So looking at end of preseason, beginning of season if everything goes perfectly. As long as he's back to 100% I'm fine with him missing the first couple games if necessary.

The knee was weak was just a matter of time. He'll be back next year . These things happen

Problem being in addition to this huge loss is that Kupp will most likely barely make it back sometime in late July (if all goes well), I doubt he'll be in playing shape until sometime iregular season,
I cant believe he didn't tear something in his original injury. Unfortunately it appears the damage was done and the knee was weakened enough that it was likely to result in a reoccurrence. We need to get creative in utilizing Reynolds, Everett and Higbee. I am especially optimistic on Everett with Reynolds/Higbee being red zone targets.

They'll fill the hole, but it won't be the same. This "O" just looks better when Kupp's on the field....sigh. :censored:

I was surprised when he came back after 2 weeks, I think many of us including myself were in denial....."Friday Night Lights", anyone??

I'd rather have Cooper in the slot and keep Woods outside, than have Reynolds outside and Woods in the slot.

I agree that Cooper would be more valuable at this point than Thomas.

Don't kid yourself, Josh Reynolds has some strengths of his own. I'm sure McVay will be revamping some things to take advantage of them.

Yes he does, but there's a reason Kupp's the starter...I see Reynolds as 70-75% of cup (as an offensive weapon). Problem being, that remaining 25%+ is what makes Kupp who he is. There's a different rhythm when Kupps on the field, there's no denying it. IMO, his replacement must account for 5-7 timely receptions a game, average 75 or more yards and account for almost 6 points a week.

Do that and not much changes....do it not and the season will be altered...(a little bifurcated Brave Heart philosophy).

Agreed, he's young, but it's usually 8 months before they even begin getting in playing condition. It can easily take him 4 to 6 weeks into the regular season before he's ready to play. Even then we know it often takes a year to get all the way back to feeling and playing "normal.".....damn shame...

In all honesty in a short week I liked what I saw from Williams he now has had more time in the offense which he was already familiar with and as long as he catches the ball which he showed he is one tough jacked mini Kupp. So being clear he ain't no cooper Kupp but I think he can be good in this offense. Reynolds has been good and the tight ends seem to be getting more comfortable. My first try would be to just insert Williams in kupps slot and see how it goes or different looks obviously sticking woods in there and Reynolds on the outside but honestly I love woods rt where he is. Sometimes I wonder how Reynolds doesn't pick up some of kupps instincts and skills cause Reynolds not fast but you would think with his size and physical ability he should be able to feast of the slot on a 3rd corner granted rout running but man he has had a lot of time to learn it all.

Expected it but I'm still devastated. The only silver lining in all this is that Goff has opportunities to build rapport with Everett, Higbee, Reynolds, and Hodge; they will only get better with given reps

This might have been said already but ... isn't it obvious that they let Kupp play again way too soon? In the pro sports level of medical staffers, how could they make such a mistake and ok him to go out and play again so soon?
It's obvious to me that this recent torn ACL is just a further injury to what was "sprained" a month ago.

I'm thinking someone missed something during the MRI's etc.

Chargers are saying Hunter Henry may be back in December and he tore his in July. With proper rehab, no reason why he shouldn't be able to go next September. Remember, he probably wouldn't have played in preseason next year anyway. Big loss of course, goes without saying. Hope Williams can attempt to be 1/3 of Kupp. Remember, he got cut for dropping a sure TD pass not too long ago. Woods to slot, Reynolds to outside and keep feeding the TE beasts we have.

I don't think that's obvious at all. A number of guys have torn their ACLs this year. It's just a common injury. Plus, Kupp's prior injury was to his MCL, not ACL.
