It seems nuts that these guys get head coaching gigs every year or maybe it happens and I haven’t been paying attention. Belichek assistants were hot for a while but it turns out they weren’t very good.

i heard McVays dog is getting an interview next week...

a roll of paper towels in his kitchen getting some consideration also.

Another one I keep seeing brought up if we don't promote the asst DB coach is Weddle to replace Evero :D
Weddle would be a great hire. I just think he loves his fam too much to do what these guys do. But yeah that would be something.

McVay puts a high priority on communicators, clearly. So he is definitely a fit. Few guys would be able to command a DB room like EW.

These are good problems to have.

McVay knows how to chose good people to work with. So does Belichick. (puke)

There are plenty of future head coaches out there that want to work with McVay.

We are witnessing football history from the front window that so few fans have been able to experience.

Enjoy the ride while it is here.

You have to wonder if Morris taking the #1 Defense and dropping it to the #17 spot (not even keeping it in the top 10) had anything to do with his flagging interest. Do you want a HC whose mantra is he doesn't give a damn about stats? Who plays his unit not to lose instead of to win? Don't think they haven't heard about that or seen it in his game film? They do this thing called vetting and part is looking at the performance of the players he's charged with. A defense with Ramsey, AD, and Miller, playing inconsistent middle of the road? Don't think that factors in? I'm not so sure.

Staley did the reverse. Took the #21 defense in 2019 and made it the #1 defense in 2020. So yeah they look at that.

McVay's coaching tree is the antithesis of Belichick's: Pick the apple off the former and you'll flourish, take a bite off of the latter and you'll be met with woe and misery.

At this rate every team will have a coach that was an assistant of McVay at one point.

It will be interesting to see a league ignore a guy whose playoff defense thoroughly outperformed a guy tabbed a “genius” and given an HC job.

I mean… Green Bay gashed the fuck outta the Rams run D… no adjustments like we saw from Morris.

Or Minnesota wanted an offensive coach.
I know where I'd bet my money

I am a little surprised. KOC has always been in the background here, you never heard much from him.

Liam Coen would seem the front runner. He has experience calling plays.

I like the idea of Jay Gruden too.

without looking at any stats i'm 100% positive they would be the #1 defense in the playoffs.
