This is a bullcrap narrative. She was a violent drunken idiot who got what she had coming.
Wow this is so terrible I want to dick-punch the guy for putting that out there.

I think its safe to assume most NFL players are women beaters.
Not necessarily. You can only claim self defense if it's in the very act of "defending" yourself. The key word being "defending".
Here's an example. A guy throws a punch at you. You block it and hit him back with one punch. The guy falls to the ground (at this point, that's self-defense). But, then you jump on top of the guy, and start throwing punches. At that point when you jumped on him, it's no longer self defense. You would now be considered the attacker since at that moment you were no longer defending yourself (i.e. you could have walked away, but chose to attack instead). It's a fine line between self defense and assult. Just becuase someone attacks you first does not give you the right to beat the hell out of them for as long as you want.
Watching this video, Hunt was not under any threat in the hallway. Even if the girl hit him or others in the room prior, in the hallway they were just standing there at first. Then, Hunt starts a variety of assults. And thus, Hunt cannot claim self defense. He became the attacker!
I hope I'm making sense here for everyone.
no, but it is assault and batteryIt's not really "domestic" violence since it wasn't his gf or wife.
Oh, that clears it up.The bitch was out of control. Everyone at the party backed up Hunt's story. We ALL knew this happened. There was a thread about it.
Hunt was yelling and shoving and kicking in that videoAssault is verbal.
Battery is physical.
Same as Reuben Foster? After all, he swatted a cell phone out of a women's hand and supposedly slapped her. At what point do YOU draw the line. So, if a black man calls me "cracker" I have the right to go after him?.
I just saw the video.
freak me. What the freak has the world come to if he even gets fined for that. He never hit her. One shove. He ran into a guy which knocked her over. And a little kick. I wouldn't even call it a kick. I thought i was gonna see some bad crap.
If she called him a N****r he had every right to lose his crap. I can't see him getting suspended for that.
It's not even in the same ball park as ray rice. Not even the same universe.

Well, I totally agree with you! The point I was making is when the "defending" ends. I wrote out one example just to get the concept across. But, every instance is different. Not trying to be a smart ass.. but is this your reasoning or an actual legal definition? Because it seems kind of like it has holes in it - If I'm defending myself but I know the dude is going to get right back up and kill me after my one punch - then it seems like the defending is not really done as of yet.
if there were any injuries don't you think the police would have acted accordingly?
It's definitely not the fight of the century, but Hunt should not have laid one finger on her and he did more than that..

This is real simple folks. Don't punch them, Kick them in the knee. They can't get back up with a broken knee. 12 pounds of pressure is all it takes.Well, I totally agree with you! The question is, "at what point is the defending done."
In your example, it may be self defense to hit the guy a few times after he's on the ground. But, once the guy can obviously no longer be a threat, anything after that is not self defense.

yeah but the police came and heard everyone's side of the story and no charges were laid. if there were any injuries don't you think the police would have acted accordingly? it's not like it was in kc. it was in cleveland.
