I love Hekker too but let's say forget about next year we have a young team granted but say this frees up some more money by trade and we recoup a 6th or shooting for the moon a 5th or any pick (which we seem to be good with using) but it also allows us to maybe go for an offensive lineman this year to sure up the line and give Stafford and the running game a better wall does that make the pain easier. I get emotionally tied to players on my team as well and hate to see them go it stings for a bit but it only stings bad and long if the trade or release outright sucked or backfired. Over the years loyal as I am the sting is a lot less if the incoming or the trade etc. helps our team.

What else can we do? We have no control so prepare for the worst hope for the best!

So cutting or trading could be in the forecast for Hekker. And debating if this move favors or hurts the Rams is fair.

But can we agree that “Hekker needs to get over the COVID protocol & let The Rams trade him to Dallas already” and “it complicates things,so let’s get rid of this guy already” comments are not only unfair but down right disrespectful to one of the best Rams of all time?

seems like this conversation should be happening over a 30M+/yr QB, not "overpaying" for a HOF punter.

keep the dude and figure it out elsewhere.

Also, he punted the ball 41 times last year compared to Johnny's 68, and still had more touchback backs. He had enough opportunities to pin them inside the 20.
Bojorquez with more touchbacks on 41 punts than Hekker with 68? That's a really concerning stat.

One could make an argument that the ability to pin the opponent inside the 20 is the most important ability a punter can have. Especially pinning inside the 10, that can change the whole flow of the game. And Hekker is amazing at that.

We're all entitled to our opinions. Mine in the polar opposite. Even if a player is past his prime--like Robert Quinn was, I'll never be glad to see them go. Also, you keep saying "we not me". The "we" gets worse letting a weapon like Hekker walk. And "we" the fans will have to watch yet another hall of famer light it up, retiring with a different team. I will be angry and sad if he's cut or traded.
I’ll add last season when da Bears played Tge Rams they were talking how much they liked Quinn & thought they made the better move by letting Floyd go. Well cheers to Quinn being a Bear.Hopefully you get to SOFI so you can enjoy him at SOFI.
I’ll give Robert Quinn a AAA plus for Chewing Tobacco./ He just got done with practice or & his daughter or family members came running over. He let go the Biggest Cow Pie ever. I looked down at that from about 5 yards. Impressive how someone could fit all that in his mouth. The HC & Jared Goff are be Tobacco guys. Not a Fan of that in Football players. Baseball ? Yeah - basketball(lmao).

Bye bye MeriMan & Ogletree. I usually know who the draft pick was for the player.
Yeah - so glad Tru & J. Joyner were Raiders. Nice comp picks. I guess Lunters are people to. Illinois punter helped change the game early. Didn’t see it,but know one punt on the 1 & a return for a safety.
I’m big on Special Teams. We’ll see who makes the team there. Funk,Scott, & Harris fit that billing. Ben Sko looks like he will be a pup guy.

Coverage was pitiful last year, no one has to discount their performance they did that themselves hence a new coach.
Yeah - well my guess is Cancer played a bigger part of the coaching change than you might think. Just hope Coach B gets through it safe & healthy. You can make your prediction. I’m favor of the health of the Organization. Just hope Johnny is okay either way as well.

Yeah, but now your discounting the coverage team.
No, I'm not. They sucked.

Corey Borjorquez was cut By the Way.
When? He's still on the team.

Special teams is important,so that 5 yards at the 15 instead of the 8 doesn’t mean Jack to me.
It means jack to the data nerds. The closer you start your drive to your own end zone, the less likely you are to score.

Yeah - if your talking about a Big Wad if tobacco. North Carolina Strong with Robert Quinn. Bet he would look good in a Cowboy Hat. Pretty impressive seeing it on like the sideline area close to the stands on the far side of the field. BRockers bunch - Quinn & O-Tree. Those were all solid Rams at one time.

Nerd it up Man! I like Old School football with this New School QB Offense. Special teams is just put it on the 25 now a days. WTF does that 5 yards mean.

I’m excited to see TUTu play more than Johnny Boy. Dallas is the perfect place for him.

Well said. My apologies if that disrespected you. I will end it here & let the cards fall where they may.
Hekker has been a class Ram for the most part. He has made comments in the past though on Rams decision such as getting rid of Bones.
He gets paid well & some wonder if he was asked to take a pay cut. Brockers was actually drafted the same season The Rams picked him up
as a udrfa.
There will be some tough cuts to be made. Happy The Rams signed Sony, and believe that is a bigger move than having the player above.
Sad Cam Akers got hurt & Calais as well.

Wow!
Look at you, giving love to kicker!

LOL..

Well, technically I wasn't praising his kicking.

It was the actual football skills that he somehow possesses. So very unusual for a fucking kicker.

When I read your response I literally had to check myself for a minute. I felt much relief after reading over my post again. Just the thought of myself showing love for a kicker was going to ruin the rest of my weekend. :zany1:

It means you're statistically less likely to score points.

Please forgive me for linking to a Cowboys site, but these fans seem to like their punter and see no reason for any interest in Hekker.
