.

i just don't understand why they can't throw a single ball downfield. so many times goff looked downfield and there was nothing. are there any receivers open? are they open and he can't see them? i would love to know.

no team can dink and dunk all game every game. especially when you're down to your plodding rb who isn't built to be an every down back.

the offense is broken.

.
I think it's the combination of our OL not being that good in pass pro, and our QB not being good at handling pressure. That means dialing up any shot that requires route development comes with big turnover risk. Which the defenses know so they sit on the short routes.

And on top of that is the fact that we don't have any wideouts who scare DBs re: being beaten deep. Which means opposing DBs camp the fuck out on the short stem and nobody is open.

This year's team is done tbh. But if they can get in the playoffs and get Whit and Akers back we might get a little playoff excitement. It's all good though, we'll see to what extent McVay makes changes and NOBODY on offense is safe IMO.

Dude, even Goff admits he played like shit and that INT was the dumbest play of his career! Look it up lol.

Woods and Kupp are awful because they didn’t make then pro bowl? Not arguing about the line, they sucked! But Goff has continually made very very poor decisions this season, you have to see that right?
I think the point he's making is that goff supporting cast isnt as good as ppl say. They're average and above average at best. Not a single person other than goff and I believe big whit has been to a pro bowl. Doesn't mean they're awful tho they're just not considered the best or even in the discussion at their positions.

Fuck that shit man! You have to take her to a Rams vs Whiners game or something in the new stadium next year, tailgate all that to make it sink in! lol

Also remind her of these facts

It would have to be the second trip to the new stadium, my Dad and I need to make the pilgrimage to the new church of the Rams together first!

Showing her a mariachi band around the tailgate would go a long way though! If the world is open you bet your ass I’ll make something happen. I can’t have a seaturd play a significant role in my life, especially when I have the power to influence her haha.

To everyone: Speaking of pilgrimage though, is there a RoD pilgrimage to sofi stadium planned yet?

Can’t disagree with the fact his supporting cast has been bad lately. But does bad qb play and bad support need to be mutually exclusive?

I mean when a qb supporting cast is bad than odds are he's gonna be bad too. Quarterback can only do so much.

Haha You know there is a high probability I might have my girl her about that time next year and I’m going to be doing the same thing with her. Tailgate, all the fun, sights, and everything. My pilgrimage will happen for sure next year, one probably by myself and one with her when she gets here from Venezuela. We’ll see how it works out this next years to lol

True, but is it possible that his support is bad and he still makes decisions that are poor that are on him alone and not the support? Like 50% Goff errors are on support and 50% are on him? The INT today is a prime example of an unforced error. Unforced by supporting cast or by the opposing defense.

I'm not arguing his dumb ass mistakes. I'm just trying to provide some perspective. People act like he has this really good supporting cast and the truth is he doesn't. That's all I'm saying. Now his turnovers are another story and that one today in particular was 100% on him. Just a dumb play.

Yeah man, that o-line is garbage, and even worse in the run game. Not to mention being down to the 3rd string RB. Cast is no bueno I concur ;)

I keep imagining Justin Herbert as our QB and I smile for a second then I go back to reality

Once again I waited for a few hours to vent . I never had a good feeling about this game , but it was clearly there for the taking .
I'm not going to pile on our QB too much , but he has regressed beyond belief . Can Wolford possibly be worse than what Goff displayed today . His wounded duck passes are as ugly as I've seen in the NFL How many QB's can't throw a spiral at this level ? Missed passes , wobbly throws , and continues to hand the other team the ball . I think we're seeing the beginning of the end for Goff . He's clearly lost it, Either hes not putting in the work , or he's lost the drive and motivation to improve . In year 5 he should be cleaning up his mistakes and fine tuning his game . Not even close to being average lately . The Rams are clearly unlucky when it comes to taking a QB with the #1 pick . Bradford and Goff were the best available the years they needed a QB . Not fortunate enough to have a Luck or Mahomes coming out those years . Believe me I know we are stuck with Goff for awhile, but nothing stands out about him that leads me to think he's going to turn it around. Things that he's lacking can't be taught . Pocket awareness, mobility, decision making(nice slide today ) , and throwing a damn spiral are just a few things he's missing. He is broken at this point . Never mind , I did pile on him . McVay isn't impressing anyone right now either . 4th down run with a power back off tackle behind two TE's sealed their fate . Have we seen any new plays incorporated into his stagnant offense ? How many bootleg lefts gained anything today ? They had me fooled a few times this year with how good they were . Honestly what good teams have they beat ? Tampa ? Hags earlier in the year ? Not much of a resume
Sorry for being a downer , but the past two weeks have been a reality check. Life of a Rams fan . Disappointment
.

Actually if you watch that play, the line doesn't hold long enough for a clean release. Woods gets bumped by two tackles which allows the LBs to move into coverage. Goff should have recognized the broken play (he looks back for Woods while rolling out) but is too greedy for yards. He should have just thrown it away.

I get trying to make that kind of aggressive play (ball into the voided zone and leading Woods deeper) on 3rd down, but on 1st down he should have just recognized the broken play and thrown it away.

So we agree, it was an unforced error and a bad decision? Just run or throw it away right? ;)

Hmm . . . well I guess we disagree on the word "unforced." Good defensive play (coverage, pressure), bad line play, suboptimal decision (it would have been the right decision if the circumstances were different i.e. 3rd down), and poor execution all conspired to make that play unsuccessful.

I see where you are coming from, and yes his decision was rushed by the D so I can see how “unforced” might be the wrong word. We will just call it a shit decision hahaha

A "suboptimal" decision?

As in, 2020 has been "suboptimal"?

That decision was abominable, and would have been so on third down as well.

And yeah it was unforced as well... Goff had all day to make that decision, and there was plenty of time left in the game, too.

Go Cal Bears, though!

At some point, perhaps the OLine can get back to controlling the line...lol, apparently that seems to get overlooked by some when it’s so easy to pile on elsewhere, jmo

Cheers!

i see lots of posts about how the offensive line is a problem.

Let me know when we have a lineman, WR, RB or TE make the pro bowl.

Caveman analysis can say "Look QB BAD!!!!"

It's a team game. Goff had one interception. Wilson had two last time we played.

We have no running game and terrible blocking going on.

your use of stats to prove your points is so ridiculous that its almost like a Saturday night live skit.

our line isn't consistent - but here is something for you bud.

one of the reasons we have no running game is because every team we have played the past 3 years crowds the box and does not fear our passing game?

is that all on goff - no, but a big part of the lack of running game is that the defense has no fear of Goff.

I have to wonder why we haven't signed Kenny Stills. Maybe he doesn't want to sign right now. But it blows my mind that this team desperately needs a deep threat, yet isn't interested in the talented deep threat available in FA right now.
