With the exception of the pick which was bad, Goff played a great game. Numberous 3rd down conversions under intense pressure which pin point accuracy.
We need Akers and Whitworth, Goff can't do everything and right now he has a weak online putting everything on him.
We usually run behind Whitworth at the goal line but Noteboom can't get that type of push and Higbee was like a high school kid blocking.
I am not trying to pick a fight so let us leave it here.Your "if, then" statement doesn't even make sense. Fisher gets zero credit for what the Rams are doing right now. Fisher got the credit for drafting AD. He also got the blame for his shitty ass offenses. And then he got fired. McVay is the HC. He gets the credit and the blame for what the entire team does. As for us having a championship caliber team, we were two Cooks catches from winning a Super Bowl with McVay, so I call bullshit.
The announcers have BEEN WAYYYY too critical of Goff all season. By chance or coincidence or conspiracy, whatever it is, they nitpick his every mistake and then don't say anything of the sort when the same thing happens to opposing QBs.
Doesn't that drive any of you crazy?
Do you even notice?
Its because they are lazy and like to get on an easy narrative and ride it like a horse until it gives out.
Can’t say I disagree but our 30 mill a year plus QB is attached to us until pretty much 2023 until we can let him go. He’s not as bad as Wentz to want to get rid of but not that good where we are confident in him as the starter. As of today you can tell McVay isn’t confident in him either. If this thread needs to be moved to the vent thread, or locked, so be it.
I just gotta say... that INT that Goff threw today was the worst pass I’ve ever seen him make. Ever.
Something broke in me after watching that play. It’s like when you have a girlfriend... and she does something awful or stupid or disappointing... and you just know at that moment that the relationship is over. You just can’t get past it. You gotta break up with her.
For Goff to do something THAT dumb... when you know that his coaches have been brow-beating him with the “ball security” message over and over... it’s just freaking unforgivable. It makes me worry he’ll NEVER “get it.”
Hate to say I totally agreed with Aikman’s analysis. Aikman basically said, “As long as the Rams don’t turn the ball over, they’re really hard to beat.”
A this point, pretty much the only reason I MIGHT be ok with Goff as the 2021 QB is the Rams might not have much of a choice re. the cap. His salary right now is for me the ONLY reason for keeping him. I hate the idea of the Rams eating ANOTHER huge cap hit like they did with Cooks and Gurley.
Important disclaimer: I have been a HUGE Goff fan from before Day 1, even before the lead-up to the draft. I have always been one of those “rah rah positivity” guys with Goff. I still think he has tons of natural talent. And I have stubbornly defended him, always.
But that pick today... something broke in me. Feels like it’s over.
What killed it for me wasn’t the throw itself, it was the CHOICE he made.maybe his thumb was actually broken at the beginning of the game?
that would explain that throw.

ehh i dont really notice... i notice goff, the oline and hte offense playing like shit though.
Even a broken thumb does not forgive that DUMB play. Maybe if you told me he tried bull riding for the first time and got a concussion before the game I could forgive it lolmaybe his thumb was actually broken at the beginning of the game?
that would explain that throw.
Well, great he knows it was dumb...just like a lot of plays he has made this year. How do you stop being dumb Jarred! Do that...I don't want any apologies but those shown to me on the field! To his credit, Goff acknowledges it was incredibly dumb, and one of the worst passes of his career.
But still.
Jared Goff accepts blame for "one of the worst plays I've had in my career"
Rams quarterback Jared Goff has not been playing well lately, and in today's loss to the Seahawks, it got particularly ugly.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
What killed it for me wasn’t the throw itself, it was the CHOICE he made.
He easily could have picked up a few yards by running up the sideline, or he could have easily thrown the ball away. But he CHOSE to throw across his body, into the heart of the D, he lobbed it up with plenty of air beneath it. Just an awful, unforgivably bad decision.
I didn't see the game but saw that pick and that's how I feel, it's not the throw it's the CHOICE. I mean, fucking seriously, what could've POSSIBLY gone through his mind? You can EASILY pick up a few yards in the ground or simply throw the ball away. I mean, what in God's name did he see it what triggered him to make that throw? Just unbelievable and unforgiving. What killed it for me wasn’t the throw itself, it was the CHOICE he made.

Right, just curious tho, do you have a good explanation as to why the Rams run so many boots? There are BUT he's a primary reason...
